Check in was nice and easy and room was ready super early too, which was fab, as we were drenched, so we were able to get cleaned up and dry. Room was lovely, although bathroom design not great. Couldn't close bathroom door whilst on toilet as no room LOL But a lovely stay and as always, breakfast was so tasty and high quality.

For a city stay the hotel was very quiet. Blackout curtains in the bedroom did their job well- no gaps. We walked just a short distance to places to eat and the Utilita arena . Only slight hiccup was the fire alarm - short burst- test we think. It was 9am though and luckily not middle of the night!

Positives On arrival the staff greeted us warmly/ with friendly interest. The reception and bar/lounge area were inviting. The room was clean, with large bed and basic offers (tea/coffee facilities) and a fridge with complimentary water. Not so great The shower gel had ran out (but I'd bought my own) We couldn't really see why this was a '4 star. The breakfast was OK, but I've had better in 3 star places, smaller hotels. Probably no better than a travel lodge. The orange' juice'was not juice or had been watered down beyond recognition. The eggs were the powdered kind, except for the fried egg/omelette station, which was made nicely by a friendly, polite staff member on one of the 2 days we stayed. The sausages/bacon were ok but nothing special. I'd hoped to use the cross trainer for a cardio workout (to open my lungs up for singing that day) but the machine wouldn't power on/the socket connection was broken. The other cardio machines were sit down typess (recumbent bike, pelaton bike you needed an app for, and normal bike) and a running machine. None of which I could fully use due to hypermobility and tailbone issues. The main problem (and why I wouldn't go back) was the bed. It was soo hard I struggled to sleep and then woke up in discomfort a few times each night. Not helped that the pillows were super soft. Therefore making your head low/not giving good spinal alignment. My partner struggled with this too. The checkout was flat/disinterested staff

Nice clean hotel, very very handy for Birmingham Town Centre. Within easy walking distance of many restaurants, bars, venues and tram stops. Loads of places to plug devices in and free wi-fi worked well. Would say the lights were oddly low, so the room was quite dark but not a huge issue. Breakfast was great. I parked at the nearby Q-Park, only a short walk from the hotel, and was able to pre-book so just drove straight there.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was small but clean. The display on the heating was not working. We reported this and were told this was also the case in another room. Just press the arrows up or down as normal but won't be able to see actual temperature. Room was cold and fan very noisy. Didn't sleep well at all. Crack in bathroom sink. When I had a shower the water didn't drain and was above my ankle when I got out. The breakfast was probably the worst hotel breakfast I have had. Poor selection and hot plate food was cold. The location of the hotel was very central and within walking distance of the places we wanted to visit.

Eveything was perfect: location, cleanliness, staff and omg the breakfast! Brilliant location for concerts or shopping . Lots of restaurant's and bars within walking distance, as well as a tesco and sainsburys juat around the corner. Defintialy our new hotel of choice in Birmingham.

The hotel is in a quiet area but not far from a main bus and tram route. Room was very clean with a nice big comfortable bed. Later hours for breakfast at weekend much appreciated. Friendly staff.
