Moffat House

A historic building. Centrally placed. Friendly staff. Goodbreakfast and evening meal.

The reception was welcoming. My room was comfortable. The breakfast was excellent.

There was no evening meal available in the hotel; this might not have been a problem had other eating establishments been plentiful - however, as it was a Sunday, many were closed. I couldn’t not operate the shower to produce water! I later found a printed guide (apparently much used) in the information folder, but even then i couldn’t get it to work.

Good size rooms. Comfortable beds and a great breakfast

Well appointed facility with pleasent staff who could not remedy the faults of management.

The online guest registration contained this statement: "Our restaurant is open every evening from 6.30 for fine dining and on Sunday we offer a traditional Sunday roast." When we arrived we were told they do not serve food on a Sunday evening. The kitchen is closed and we were told to go elsewhere. This outcome cannot be read into the e-mail we recieved. If I wanted fish and chips on Sunday night I would not have booked the Moffat House. Management has failed us and their staff.
