Carre Retreat with private hot tub

Cosy, comfortable beds, well equipped, hot tub.

Plug in air fresheners, too overpowering for a sensitive nose like mine, made me feel sick, had to unplug and bag them for our stay.

Perfect location, very quite and relaxing. The grounds are lovely for a walk, seen lots of wildlife. Lodge had everything we needed and was decorated nicely making it very homely. There is gates around so little children/pets can't escape the decking which was very reassuring Hot tub was clean and has a privacy screen so passers by cannot see. Beds were very comfy and has mattress/pillow case protectors so also very clean. Would stay here again.

Outdoor area was a little dirty which is understandable considering the surrounding trees, but by the hot tub there was some dirty socks and a dirty ash tray. No blinds in the ensuit toilet which isn't ideal as this looks out onto the road where people pass. Would also be good to have some curtains in bedroom as to much light shines through. Had an issue with the double doors being broken upon arrival, messaged the host but didn't get a response.

The layout of the place was great for a cosy getaway with the girls. The beds were comfy and we all slept well. The hot tub was amazing so it didn't matter that the weather was a bit cloudy and damp. Very peaceful, very little noise from neighbours.

Not clean upon arrival. Miss communication between hostess and cleaner . Cleaner arrived late and we still waited longer than the original check in time. Needs a deep clean as shower cubicle and shower head black mould. Cobwebs everywhere and carpets soiled. Missing privacy blinds. Sand in hot tub. Main door had dropped and quite hard to open and shut. Blind in living area fell and hit one of us in the head when tried to pull it down to close for privacy. Caused a lump on head and headache. Reported all to hostess who had an excuse for everything
