Wonderful!

This hotel is fantastic. Beautifully decorated and furnished. The location is good with fantastic views. Food (breakfast) offered a good variety and the one time we had dinner, it was excellent. The staff were professional and friendly. With a big shout out to Sam, Calvin, Emanuel and Happy, who assisted us in every request. Thoroughly recommend staying here if you are planning in staying in Stellenbosch.

Amazing view, nice little pool, super friendly and helpful staff, breakfast and the lunch at the dinner were very good too.

Rooms could have been bigger and while the breakfast was good, the selection could have been wider. But only miner things to consider.

Absolutely did not meet expectations.

Absolutely did not meet expectations. The accommodation looked nothing like the photos on the website. The room was extremely dated and in poor condition, clearly not well maintained. This was a huge disappointment upon arrival. To make matters worse, after we arrived we were initially offered a refund due to these issues, but this offer was later withdrawn without a valid explanation. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Overall, a very negative experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

It has potential but needs maintenance

We enjoyed our stay. The beds were comfortable and the linen was good quality. There is a lovely mountain view but you can not enjoy it from inside your chalet because of the low window and ceiling and the layout. The chalet has potential but the view was not taken into consideration in the design of the unit.

The Hotel and Chalets need general maintenance and upgrades. There are lots of cracked floor tiles. There are also many stairs which makes it not suitable for the elderly. The bedroom doors are also very noisy when you close or open them. There were also a number of worms in our apartment and many ants.

Pretty Location

It's a beautiful location with lovely views over the valley. Friendly staff and a well-kept property.

While the setting was peaceful and the facilities generally well kept, our stay was unfortunately impacted by how uncomfortable the bed was. It was extremely firm (hard, actually), with very little give, which made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep and left us feeling tired rather than rested. When you wake up unrested, it’s hard to enjoy even the loveliest surroundings. There is also an additional cost for a speciality coffee like a cappuccino/flat white, versus a filter coffee, which I found annoying. Possibly exacerbated by lack of sleep. Given the property’s remote location, the presence of a vending machine for snacks seemed like a smart idea; however, it was out of order during our stay, which was quite frustrating. It would have been helpful if reception could have offered snacks for purchase as an alternative, but this wasn’t an option. Likewise, it would have been ideal to have some basic items (other than drinks) available in the room or minibar, even at an additional cost. Unfortunately, there were none, and when we enquired at reception, we were told that nothing was available.

Little gem

We stayed in a lovely chalet. (We were offered a room at the hotel itself when we checked in.) Milk was provided for us in the fridge. Lovely comfy beds. All cooking facilities and utensils provided, as well as a braai. Swimming towels also provided. The reception staff gave good advice about local wine farms. Great location.

Just okay.

It has great views in a quiet area.

The staff were so nonchalant, when we were checking in at night they couldn’t even escort us, let alone give us proper directions to the cottages. That time I was traveling with pensioners. When we were leaving our luggages again their communication was as if they were the clients. Just pointing and not even offering to carry even one light carry-on, to even have us leave our luggage on the corridors. Lastly, the showers and bathroom doors need an update.
