Good location between the railway station and the Old Port. The building itself isn't too impressive but once in the room it's really good. Well equipped.

Really quirky apartment in the heart of downtown Marseille. Easily accessible - 10 minutes from the train station on foot.
No cutlery in the room and a liitle high up witn no lift so not great for an elderly person although it didn't bother us.

Had pretty much everything we needed was near everything we wanted to see
It was kind of dirty. The neighbourhood is pretty sketchy and there was a like fatal stabbing nearby.

Not bad
The bed was comfy and the place was like the pictures. Shower was good and bathroom was clean.
We stayed in Room 2 and the air conditioner was super loud. The room was also very muggy and humid, I think from constant laundry downstairs.
Another thing is the constant spam emails I received leading up to the booking that were supposedly hackers trying to trick you into paying.

Average stay
The design of the property is excellent, clean no frills, and it does the trick. Very well designed. We had the apartment with two rooms. Overall, save for some negatives, it was an average stay.
The location, while not within the control of the owner, is dodgy. Unfortunately, it was very confusing and stressful to confirm the booking, as the property was hacked and we kept on constantly receiving links to pay, on WhatsApp and Booking.com messages, which was confusing messages. Upon arriving we didn’t find any soaps, or shampoo.

The property had the facilities as described.
The apartment was very much smaller than it appeared in the photographs. The description of the property does not state that the shower is right next to the bed and that the toilet is at the foot of the bed, not much privacy for the user. When we arrived at the property the door handle to the apartment was hanging off and the bedside lights were not working. I messaged the host who did respond quickly but then informed us that they could not find the spare keys so were unable to come and fix these issues (no spare keys!!??). We then found that the wooden sofa frame and the kitchen stools appeared to have woodworm. Again, messaged the host regarding this who replied quickly asking for photographs, which I supplied, but made no response as to whether the issue would be addressed. I had also requested a room with a balcony, I did not get this.

Ok for short stay.
We stayed in this room for 2 nights. The room is very small. The bathroom is located very close to the bed and offers no privacy. Additionally, you have to be careful not to splash water everywhere while showering. The toilet is so cramped that your head hits the door, and it wasn't very clean either. The only positive aspect is the central location, which allows you to easily reach all the city’s sights on foot or by public transportation. However, the hotel’s location is not very nice, and as a woman, I wouldn’t want to stay out late at night because you have to walk through some questionable alleyways to reach the apartment and just don’t feel very safe. It's okay for 2 nights, but too pricy for what you get.

The location is amazing, the Old port and all the other attractions are in a walkable distance range. The staff was very friendly and responsive.
The only downside of the apartment was the cleanliness of the apartment because there was a strange smell on the bedding and a lot of hair was left behind everywhere around the apartment. Regarding the cleanliness, we expected everything to be clean and serene because you have to pay a 30€ cleaning fee. The district also isn't the cleanest and it is full of weird people but as long as you leave them alone, they also leave you alone so it is not that big of a problem.

Beautiful decor, nice kitchen design with all the utensils, comfortable bed and pillows, lots of shelves to store your belongings.
The neighborhood is really bad, with two dumpsters in front of the building that were always full of trash and in the night huge rats all around. One day, in the morning, there was a guy taking a sh*t next to the dumpsters.
Also, in the night as a couple we were a bit scared because there were always weird people and homeless people in the neighborhood. So, as you can guess you can't sit by the window and enjoy for example your coffee in the morning. (Our apartment was on the first floor). So we almost always had the curtains closed and that made us feel that we couldn't stay in the room for a long time.
Of course this situation is not the responsibility of the property's owner/manager, but it really affected our experience regarding our stay.
Also, the cleanliness could be improved, the towels were not enough for two people (no towels for hair/face) and I asked for an extra pillow and they refused my request. Having a whole building with rented apartments and not an extra pillow, I'm sorry is ridiculous. And finally there was a lot of noise in the morning inside the building, so if you are a light sleeper bring earplugs.

Someone clearly put a lot of thought into how to perfectly maximize the small space, surprisingly comfortable and cozy, perfect for a one or two night stay in Marseille near all of the attractions.
It is very well located but there is nothing to see out the window, which isn't a problem at all if you're just using the place to sleep and while spending the day outside exploring Marseille.

They place doesn't have Wi-Fi, and they lie that it is in the process. The picture of the place and what we got was not the same. For this money! 20m2? Flat is old, and the door is already not closing well. The area is a little bit dangerous. I didn't feel myself comfortable, but this has nothing to do with the landlord. Also, it was the first time for 10 years of using booking.com, when the landlord asked me to make a dish and through away garbage. Really? For this money?

Deceiving advertising
Well located apartment in the city center, but the entrance is right next to the trash beens with 10 huge rats in them. The kitchen has all the utensils, new washing machine, oven, fridge, etc.
Has the AC but not sure it was working properly.

The cleaning person left the wet blankets in the washing machine. Couldn't open the window because of the disgusting trash smell.

this was a complete scam. we were charged a cleaning fee even though we didn’t even stay. the photos represent nothing like the actual accomodation. we still have not been able to get through to anyone who runs the property and booking.com would not provide a refund either despite not even being able to get into the property

Pleasant Stay with a Minor Noise Disturbance
My husband and I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful experience we had during our recent stay at French Casa. Our time in the studio was truly enjoyable, and we were thoroughly impressed with the overall experience. The property's location was ideal, offering convenient access to various attractions, the train station, and the airport. Additionally, we were delighted to find the studio impeccably cleaned just before our arrival.
While our stay was predominantly delightful, I feel it is important to mention a minor inconvenience that could be addressed in the future. As one of the rules stipulates "no parties allowed," it would be appreciated if all guests could be reminded to adhere to this policy. Unfortunately, during our stay on Sunday night and early Monday morning, we experienced some disturbances caused by the occupants, most likely in the loft upstairs. It appeared that a few individuals had invited guests of the opposite gender, leading to continuous noise, laughter, and frequent stomping on the stairs. While we understand that such incidents may occur during weekends, the situation on a Sunday felt unexpected and somewhat inconsiderate. As we had an early morning trip planned, it was challenging for us to sleep due to the commotion. We acknowledge that this matter was beyond your control, and we apologize for not providing feedback earlier. Nevertheless, we believe it is valuable to bring this to your attention, as it may arise with other groups in the future.
Setting aside this isolated issue, we want to express our sincere appreciation for hosting us. The rooms and apartments were exquisitely beautiful, and the beds offered exceptional comfort. We were delighted to find all amenities in perfect working order, and hot water was consistently available for our showers. Without hesitation, we wholeheartedly recommend French Casa to anyone seeking accommodation in the area.

The apartment is very central, in the multicultural Noailles neighbourhood, within walking distance of the Vieux Port, Le Panier, etc.
The room is quite small but perfectly fine for a couple of days. The parking lot outside is a bit dirty and the trash bins are not the most wonderful sight...

the other room smelled like cigarettes smoke constantly! no matter what we tried the smell kept coming back. The owner did not sort this out and now there is radio silence. we have never stayed anywhere this bad.

the location of the apartment was great as everything was reachable within walking range.
the apartment seems to be recently renovated, but many of the appliances weren’t working properly. the AC broke down a couple of times and we woke up sweating. There was a burning wood smell coming out of the oven when it was turned on, that seemed dangerous. The “door” supposed to avoid water splashes on the bed was not adjustable and didn’t close on the bottom so the whole area was under water. the drainage in the sink was clogged. The towels the host left for were filthy as well as the shower matt. When we arrived there was a plastic bag attached with duct tape next to the shower area. When asking the host about it, he told us we could remove it. Due to this we doubt that the apartment was properly cleaned before we arrived. I’m general it was visible that most things were mounted self made as screws were looking out and many things were uneven. we told the host about all of it and just got a return message that it will be forwarded to the owner. Apparently we were just talking with a person who manages those apartments, but the responsible person was never reachable. In the listing it shows one apartment that looks like it was finished, but ours wasn’t. I think it is very shady to use picture from another apartment to rent out another room and close to fraud to me! I’ve seen that it’s only possible to upload picture in the review, but I’ll made a video which I will contact booking with, about the dirty apartment we arrived in. That we paid cleaning fee for that feels like a scam!
