This place was perfectly situated for a stopover en route to the Alps, with a taste of French culture that you don't get at the Ibis. Not a particularly picturesque area, but served our practical needs being close to the motorways, having secure parking and a 5 minute drive to a range of restaurants for dinner. The host recommended a fantastic restaurant nearby. It's a quirky, artistic place with interesting artefacts everywhere and we found the dorm room very peaceful despite how close to the main road it is. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious breakfast with croissants and homemade jams!
We got by, but the host speaks little English - made for some fun recall of our GCSE French! We stayed in the dorm room which was very cluttered and not particularly clean - shoes and toys under the beds and cobwebs everywhere. The bathroom was down the stairs, through the kitchen diner and event space, which wasn't an issue for us but might not suit everyone, particularly those with small children. They also only provided hand towels for the shower! There was no lock on the door, so it wasn't the most secure environment. It was a bit inconvenient having to pay cash for the breakfast and made the stay a little expensive for what it was.

Location was good for a stopover, with private onsite parking for about 3-4 cars. The property was tastefully decorated and the landlady was friendly.
1. The pouffe in the room was extremely dusty. Sink and surrounding area was stained. Shower tray was pink and grimy. The toilet could do with a good scrub. 2. Landlady said she could provide us with gluten-free options as I’m a coeliac. All I had was a GF baguette, unfortunately it was served in the same chopping board next to a normal baguette with a knife bread knife used to cut both. All utensils inside the jam pots and butter knife would have touched other baguettes and croissant. So all I could have was a pot of yogurt and a cup of tea. All for €10.
