We enjoyed our break but felt the property was somewhat neglected and reading other comments these weren’t new issues so

Location and nearby amenities were excellent.

The damp patch on the wall in the twin bedroom. The damp and smell and lack of ventilation in the downstairs shower room. The empty bowl in the middle of the dining room floor underneath the skylight which obviously must be leaking (we did not have rain fortunately) The first impression wasn’t great as the front pathway was covered in leaves and bird mess which could have been cleaned. The front door could do with a lick of paint The windows were dirty.

Superb

Spotlessly clean and an excellent location - the Downs mere yards down the street. Also the owners have kitted it out well - the sofas are super comfy and my son loved the big bean bags. There's everything you might need in the kitchen and little touches like the hallway nightlight, fans in the cupboard (I get quite warm at night), boardgames and decent WiFi. Everything went smoothly and we didn't need to contact the owners during our stay, but had a welcoming message from them and I felt confident that should we have needed to, they would be approachable and helpful. Highly recommended!

The upstairs toilet is actually on a middle landing with 4 steps down from the main bedrooms. My elderly mum was with us and these were a little tricky for her in the middle of the night. They were on the same level as the child's bedroom but mum couldn't manage the transfer from the low bottom bunk bed. To be fair it is in no way marketed as being disability friendly and there was a nightlight to cover the stairs which helped. This was a specific issue to our circumstances and I'm sure plenty of people wouldn't even think twice about it, but probably worth flagging up for the few people it might be a bit troublesome for.

What a great place this is! In the great Babbacomb neighbourhood near the downs, in a quiet street. Close to the Babbacomb shops, coastpath, bus 22, funnicular and cream tea/ breakfast possibilities. Cosy sittingroom with comfi couch and fire place. Small diningroom with toproof light. Well equiped kitchen what made it possible to prepare our own meals. Good beds in three bedrooms. We had a nice 4 nights stay and loved Torbay and the Dartmoors.

You sometimes have to drive around a few streets to find a parking place. Parking is free.

Location of Saltwater is perfect. Babbacombe is so lovely (the best area of Torquay, in my opinion) with plenty of pubs and restaurants within a few mins walk. We stayed in February to catch up with family, as Torquay is our home town, so didn't visit local attractions and beaches but rest assured there is plenty to see and do. Hosts have thought of everything, the cottage is very well equipped and it was so clean, comfortable and spacious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely book again

Would not hesitate to return

Fabulous and convenient location. Well equipped, comfortable and clean. We had a minor problem with a blocked drain which was sorted quickly by a most helpful person.

It is an old house but I hadn’t expected so many variations in levels within the property. Elderly Mum with balance problems had to be quite careful.
