Great property & location.

The property had everything that you needed. Spacious & comfortable & close to the centre of Ambleside.

There was no welcome pack & therefore it took & time to find the Wi-Fi password & we were not able to charge the car.

Overall, lovely comfy stay

Spacious, comfy and fab location, and appreciated the free welcome basket of goodies

Bins were over flowing (which can’t be helped if it wasn’t bin day before we arrived), parking was a little tight and there was a nightlight in the room that I had to put upside down because it was going off everytime the covers were moved

Check how previous guests left crockery and cutlery. A lot needed rewashing on arrival. No dish clothes provided to do this. Instructions on how to use the thermostat were not available. Firefighters would have been useful. One guest got bad bites after seating with the cushions. We didn’t use them thereafter.

Great location for walking into Ambleside and getting around.

So near to the facilities, (Pier for sailings, 3 bars and restaurants, cafe, chipshop and gift shop) all 2 min walk.

Car space at rear of property a bit tight. Found space on Pier car park.

Overall it was a great place . Would love to come back again next time.

We liked the welcome basket while we arrived in the house. Nice and spacious room. Good Wi-Fi connection along with good speakers inside the hallway. Safe, quiet place to stay in with your family. Nice features while surfing the TV. Close to lake and bus stop. Good furniture to sit in and relax. Nice kitchen with good cutlery, utensils and plates.

Some utensils were unclean. The fridge was a bit smelly. The front door only worked with the key, poor locking system, used the back door most of the time. Not enough paper rolls and hand wash in the toilet. Felt that there should be one dust bin in each room. No door inside the kitchen as when we cooked inside the kitchen the alarm went on. Felt that there should be brighter lights inside the hallway.

Great location and with some minor adjustments this could be a real gem!

The location was the main reason that we chose this property - it is very close to Lake Windermere and within a 20 minute walk to Ambleside. The location also allows for easy access to the wider Lake District. Some local shops/bars were undergoing renovations during our stay but ordinarily these are great facilities to have on your doorstep! Overall a really good location. The beds are really comfortable! We all enjoyed a sound nights sleep every night!

The house could have been cleaner - there were empty sweet wraps in the bedrooms, cobwebs hanging from the ceilings, unused tea in the teapot and much of the crockery was dirty/hadn't been cleaned properly before being put in the cupboard. The front door is warped and this allows a lot of road and wind noise to enter the property. The shower on the first floor doesn't drain properly and was blocked with hair upon our arrival. There is parking for one car only - this is not ideal for larger groups and, while there is some public parking nearby, it is very limited (approx 10 spaces). There is only one sitting/dining area - this is manageable for a group of 5-6 but it is restrictive. The door mounted shelves in the fridge were craked/broken upon our arrival - this limits what can be put in the fridge as items fall out when the door is opened. The tray of the dishwasher was broken - but still useable. It would be helpful if the host could adjust the heating settings - the heating seems to come on during the night, making the bedrooms quite warm while you are sleeping. The heating on the ground floor isn't great - this part of the house always felt quite cold, while the bedrooms were quite the opposite.
