Highfield is a large handsome house in a fabulous location in the heart of Ambleside. It has a beautiful garden, and the kitchen is extremely well equipped.

There were a number of plumbing issues, we had no hot water on our 2nd day and only 2 out of the 5 showers worked. Also during our stay our bedroom curtain track broke and fell down. We were very disappointed with the lack of homely touches like a welcome pack when we arrived (maybe with some basics like milk, salt and pepper) Despite it being a beautiful house and garden it did not feel as luxurious or homely as we expected.

House was well appointed with lovely bathrooms and bedrooms and a well equipped kitchen .

Great location, lovely house and helpful staff

Highfield house is a comfortable and we'll appointed place. It is spacious enough for people to have their own peace and quiet or all to get together. The location is excellent.

Situated in the heart of the village with everything on your doorstep. A lovely house, spotlessly clean and well appointed, with all you needed to make your stay feel special.

Ideal location and immaculate and cosy house perfect for our family weekend. The dog loved exploring the garden!

Nothing the whole experience was seamless

A lovely touch, a gift/wine to help us celebrate my wife’s 40th birthday while we were there. Beds were all extremely comfortable on feedback from the rest of the family. The children had plenty of room to do their own thing as well as join in the birthday celebrations on sat 11th. Our son loved the large cinema/TV room in the basement area (games etc to keep him occupied for our stay). Plenty of space in all bedrooms, all but one en suite, the room without still had a large bathroom just a few yards away, all beautifully kitted out. The large modern kitchen/dining area was central to our stay, the main reason my wife loved it. Ample parking to the rear of the property. Relaxing, warm, homely, perfect position 150 yards from the start of the choice of bars/shops etc. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you Anne 😀
