Host denial of refund agreed to

Avoid Avoid Avoid This was a booking made for work purposes After making this booking we were told they required £150 per person damage deposit. A process I feel has potential to be abused We tried to cancel straight away but host did not reply On the day of the booking, I still had no reply so I rang booking.com who called host whilst I was on the line and confirmed I could cancel the booking with the host agreeing the refund The host is now denying any knowledge of this call and after first agreeing to the refund are now withholding this No refund has been issued, and my emails are now been ignored Be wary of handing over any money to this host, I would anticipate issues getting damage deposits back etc with the issues myself and other guests seem to be encountering Read other reviews from other guests, as they seem to be withholding deposits for no reason

I must say that Nili and her team do a great job! Communication is well and the check in check out is very easy. When we arrived the property, I mix up the keybox location so is a bit confuse. At the moment, a lady came out from a car and ask if we are going to stay in the property for vacation. Then she told us that she had just finished the cleaning job and show us the keybox location. She ask us to feel free to let her know if there's any extra towel needs so she can gives us some more. She is so friendly and lovely! We all feel amazing when we walk into the property as it's nearly exactly the same as the profile picture. The only difference is the round shape glass surface dinning table change to a oval shape wooden table which is better for us. More safe and bigger. Place is clean and we get everything we need. Honestly, we were a bit worry before as we saw a few horrible comments left in the past 2-3 months. I was so shock when I found the star dropped so quickly! Luckily, everything going so well and it does as good as the comments shown when I booked. Also the location is very convenience especially if you drive. Parking is easy. Only need to be aware for the the first right turn corner after you enter the court's car park as it only wide enough for one car to drive through and there's a big tree blocking the view. You will be OK if drive slowly and keep attention as it's a pretty quiet place actually. Just a 5-10mins walk to Morrisons and high street in Stocken Heath where has M&S and Aldi. Nice walking path nearby along the canal.

Ensure you have enough data as the property do not have Wifi as stated. I missed this point when I do the booking but we got enough data and the connection is good so it's not a problem.

BEWARE!! Downgraded to poor alternative property, NO DEPOSIT REFUND

It was close to event we were attending.

We didn't stay at Clocktowers; were moved to 12 Dutton Court at last minute and it was certainly a downgrade. (Shown as Emerald Blossom on Crystal Stays website and the photos are VERY flattering). We were told there was a leak at Clocktowers. If I were a suspicious person, I might think the host had a better offer because of Neighbourhood Weekender and moved us out for that reason! The alternative property overlooked a busy roundabout so there was a constant noise. It was a double and twin room rather than the 2 doubles we'd paid for. No balcony unlike the property we booked. Just one mug between 4 of us, so we had to take it in turns for morning coffee. The only glasses were champagne flutes. The kitchen lights didn't work, the extractor fan was full of grease so smelled when switched on. Door handle to living room was broken so had to be kept propped open. Shower head was held on with clingfilm. Property wasn't particularly clean in general. We weren't offered a discount of any kind and have had to involve customer services to chase the refund of our £150 security deposit (waited 9 days so far)

FAR FROM LUXURY 2h

Absolutely nothing to like It is advertised AS LUXURY...it is absolutely NOT Before I left,I was bombarded with messages of what fines would be imposed if I broke THEIR rules, they asked for copies of my credit card, a copy of Photographic ID, and £150 security or I could loose my accommodation, panicked I sent the money.10 DAYS AFTERmy departure and numerous messages to them I have not received any money back. I have explained we are OAP s and can't afford to have money taken from us, but they still have not returned it.

We arrived at the apartment advertised as LUXURY please refer to photos as you read this - they nor I are lying! On entering the carpets are very stained and dirty. The walls heavily marked. The vertical blinds partially missing and falling off. LUXURY ERRR NO In the kitchen - No dishwasher - I lifted a glass, it was stuck to the shelf and dirty! Mugs very stained. Cutlery cheap and looked like school canteen. Every plate had a chip. Solid hobs with the numbers rubbed off so no idea which way was low or high LUXURY...NOOOOOO Bathroom- 1/2 a toilet roll ...no other products Grouting in shower mouldy ...LUXURY NOOOOO Bedroom - cheap nasty pillows with stuffing hanging out. Bedding cheap and nastiy..my hair stood up with static! Furniture cheap flat pack that looked as if it would topple if touched. Husband went to bed and swears he was bit!!!!scratched his leg and it bled! Internet - AS you enter there is a laminated sheet with an Internet provider and password...ignore that it has nothing to do with their Internet!! After texting them I was told to use dongle behind tv....poor Internet that kept dropping...NO Internet on day of departing which I would have liked to check on flights. View from balcony over carpark NOTHING IS LUXURY 10 days later and they still will not return my security deposit as they need to heck with their housekeeper how I left their property...I left it cleaner than I got it ...I washed the glasses and mugs!! I have loads of photos to prove everything but can only upload a few!

Host let me down, never stayed in the accommodation, waiting for refund

The host let me down, received multiple amount of messages the day before, all seemed okay asking deposit and such, until I received a message "we just wanted to make sure you settled in ok.. " But I haven't checked in! Then 2hrs later "Your checkout is tomorrow.." yet I haven't checked in and checkout is not tomorrow! This concerned me and I sent a message that I believe these are all automated messages and I would like a human confirmation please before I send a deposit etc.. No reply. I sent a message to the host contact number. No reply either. Had to look for an alternative accommodation. I received a reply from the host at 8.30pm that she wasn't awere of this booking at all. And the explanation was that she is out of the office as a death in the family 3 weeks ago. That is sad and I am sorry for her loss but I believe its important to ensure personal matters don't interfere with the business and disable availability if host is unable to respond inquires and not causing inconvenience to possible guests. I asked for full refund, which I still haven't received. The other reply I received from the host was that she is going to try to find out what happened and apologised, but still no reply about the refund. I escalated this to the booking.com customer service team. However I received further 4 more automated texts about my stay and checkout and asking to leave feedback. At least should have cancelled this so i won't receive any more automated messages popping up on my phone. Here is my feedback.

Potential

Location was great, sofa was comfy amd the place has potential

Fridge door didnt close and was iced up, ensuite bathroom very dirty and plug hole blocked with years of hair. Shower was either hot or very hot, beds very uncomfortable. Socket hanging off the wall in a bedroom aswell. I made hosts aware but was told it was wear and tear that caused this, it was just dirty and hadn't been cleaned.

Spacious and comfortable apartment in a very convenient location.

A really lovely apartment which was very spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Other reviews mentioned that the sofa was to small - this has now been changed and has lots of room for 4 people. Other people mentioned rattling pipes you just need to close the toilet lid to stop that. It is a great location to walk to the pubs, cafes and shops in Stockton Heath which is a lovely little village.

The blinds could do with being updated but could be opened and closed.

Good location for Stockton Heath - furniture could do with updating

Location was great. Nili was very helpful. We liked the decor.

The beds were very small and extremely soft. A few things were broken (e.g. blinds) Only one wine glass in the kitchen. The smell in the hall. Not sure, if the shower works perfectly, it seemed too hot, whatever position the lever was in. Only two people had room on the sofa.

it was very spacious and filled with light. it was very clean and the staff made us feel very welcome. it was a good location for the neighbourhood weekender festival.

there was a loud tumble dryer like noise during the night coming from upstairs - we weren’t sure what this was, but staff advised it was the pipes.

Très bel appartement de style moderne, bien lumineux. Une terrasse abritée orientée sur le parking. Grand canapé confortable tout comme la literie. La table dressée pour notre arrivée a fait sensation. A 5 min à pied, il y a un supermarché Morrison pour faire les courses. La gare pour se rendre à Liverpool et Manchester est à 30 min à pied.

Un peu de difficulté pour trouver l'entrée du logement, mais nous avons eu Nili par téléphone qui nous a guidé pour trouver la boîte à clé. A noter, il n'y a pas de lave-vaisselle. Mais cela n'a pas été un problème. L'été, il doit y faire très chaud, puisque l'appartement comporte de nombreuses fenêtres et qu'il était difficile d'occulter les pièces.
