Stepono apartments

The location is practical of one wants to be close to the train station and the former Jewish ghettos. The apartment was fine, spacious and renovated.

The stairs leading to the apartment are very steep and the courtyard one needs to cross to get to the apartment is very run down. It is not possible to block out the light at night so it is advisable to bring a sleeping mask.

Apartment we booked was not available due to a problem. We received a lovely room instead, but with a shared kitchen area. This was fine, however kitchen not very well equipped. The proprietor brought a pot and a knife for us on request. Overall a pleasant stay.

Although the apartment wasn’t the same as on the pictures of the one we booked, it was nice and clean, and very good located. The host was friendly and welcomed us to the apartment.

It was pretty cold during the night since we had thin blankets and we couldn’t turn on the heating. When we asked the host about the heating, they said it’s not the heating season and that it is shut down in the whole city, but the next day the heating magically worked a little. As for additional blankets that we asked for, the host told us they will leave them in front of the apartment but they never did and stopped answering our messages. I wouldn’t come back, but it is a good place for one or maybe two nights.

Brand new apartment in a historic building. We stayed here just for night and couldn’t estimate all the amenities but it seemed to be calm, clean and comfortable. Remote check in was rather convenient for a late night arrival. There is parking inside the yard for 3 EUR per day.

Thin bathroom door that doesn't block out sounds.

Location is good

Noise cancellation is bad, place is remade to host people but you can clearly see it is not liveable space, bad lighting, all the noises from bathroom are there to hear, entrance door is next to bed. Pictures are better than this place in real life.

Not far from main station. Quiet.

It was so cold but there was no heating and the blanket was so thin. I had to sleep with my street clothes on.

The property is very well located — just by the old town, in the nice cozy looking yard with its own gate. The apartment complex is so nice, bright and clean — it is even surprising. Whilst very often typical hotel or apartment building in the old town in Europe would be quite old-looking, this apartment complex has been perhaps renovated recently. It has bright spacious corridors, cozy waiting area with a balcony, sets of books placed by windows. The room is very well organized too: there is enough space for luggage (I traveled from LA and I had A LOT of bags), a few hangers, two sofa chairs, a table and bedside tables on each side. There is a kettle for your tea, a TV with Netflix (you have to have your own account of course) and an A/C (didn’t use). The bathroom is clean, all bathroom equipment works well, hot water is indeed hot. Huge respect for the lighting — they have very cozy small lamps, not only the ceiling lights, many hotels don’t think about cozy lighting. The manager was so friendly and nice, one of the nicest hosts I’ve met. I stayed for 6 nights and I enjoyed the place very much. It is central enough, but still quiet. Walking distance to pretty much anywhere you’d want to go if central city is your interest. Plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants around, Bolt electric scooters are everywhere around the area. The place perhaps is not ideal if you need to spend a lot of time in the room working as the room only has small windows and it starts feeling quite small if you spend most of your day there, but if you came for exploring the outside, it is just perfect.

One of the two apartments we rented smelled like mold

Location is perfect, not far from the center. Room and bathroom are rather big. There are microwave and a small fridge in the room, however this fridge switched off when you leave a room and you needed to switch on it again manually when you back.

There were some issues: lack of toiletries at check-in day, and several days no one top up them until my complain.
