Above all the central location, a block or two from everything we want to do in the Altstadt Freiburg - especially nice when staying for several days. It's a single large enough room with everything we need (kitchenette, bathroom, WIFI, TV. We especially liked the large windows which opened wide onto the inner courtyard, which is a complex warren of various dwellings, much as it was in medieval times. The windows did not face south, which is important in the typically very hot Freiburg summer. This was Room No. 7. Some rooms in the building have other views.
Three flights of stairs to climb to the 3rd floor. We knew that in advance, and we could manage that. Some other rooms are on lower floors. There is no air conditioning - this is typical for an old building in Germany. Despite this we would gladly book here again, if possible - just right for us.
