Overall, peaceful stay, family-friendly, full of small, authentic touches which made it memorable

After disembarking from the ferry in Dieppe, we made the short journey to a little village just outside the town, Varengeville-sur-Mer, where our accommodation was set on a peaceful farm. The location couldn’t have been better – quiet, surrounded by apple and plum trees, and with a real sense of calm away from the busyness of town. We were greeted by our hosts, Matthew and his family, who were absolutely wonderful. Although we arrived earlier than planned and the previous guests had only just left, they were incredibly accommodating. They offered to store our luggage and asked us to come back in an hour so they could prepare the unit for us – such a thoughtful touch that made us feel very welcome. One of the unexpected highlights for my children was discovering a nearby boulangerie on our second day. From then on, it became a daily ritual: heading there each morning to pick up fresh pastries. Despite our less-than-perfect French, we managed just fine and came away each time with warm pain au chocolat and buttery croissants – simple pleasures that really made the stay memorable. Another treat was Adele, a place not far from the beach, where we tried the most delicious apple crumble. The kids loved it so much they insisted on bringing some back for the journey home to the UK.

If I had to mention any downsides, they were fairly minor. The shower room could do with a bit of updating – some fresh grout and silicone would make a big difference. The unit itself didn’t have a kitchen, which wasn’t a huge problem, but it would have been nice to have one. A coffee machine was provided, and when I needed a microwave for a neck support I was using, the hosts were more than happy to provide one straight away, which I really appreciated.

The rooms where beautifully decorated, clean and very comfortable. The setting was very quiet but within walking distance of the village with several restaurants and good independent local shops. Excellent breakfast with home made local produce.

Great for family

The location is perfect. Walking distance to the coastline and the famous church Église Saint-Valery. The house itself has a beautiful garden as shown in photo. The hosts were super friendly and made delicious breakfast for us.

Amazing hosts!

The Jardin des Pérelles is a magical place. Mathieu and Rongbo are impeccable, warm hosts who went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable, taking care of the most minor details. Mathieu made me cookies and Normand specialities for breakfast that I ate every morning on my private terrasse. The room was clean, bright, and very quiet. The property is a 20 minute walk from the most stunning beach you can imagine. I didn’t want to leave!

You need a car to get to the property (as with most of the towns in the region).

Ausgezeichneter Urlaub

Wir konnten aufgrund des Wetters immer auf der Terrasse frühstücken. Zum Frühstück gabe es täglich wechselnde Produkte aus der Region. Die Gastgeber waren äusserst freundlich und zuvorkommend. Bei Fragen zu Sehenswürdigkeiten wurden wir immer freundlich unterstützt.

L’ atmosfera di sogno, l’ambiente, con il bellissimo giardino, il frutteto e la casa accogliente e perfettamente organizzata. La simpatia dei proprietari e la loro flessibilità e gentilezza. La collocazione in mezzo alla natura con passeggiate stupende fino al mare. Insomma tutto

Un week-end Juste Génial

Le cadre de Varengeville, de la maison et du jardin est fantastique. L'accueil de Mathieu et pol joh (pas sûr de l'orthographe) est juste extraordinaire de chaleur et de simplicité. On a adoré ! On veut revenir ! Merci pour tout.

Le petit déjeuner et l'accueil étaient fantastiques! Propriétaires disponibles et de bons conseils. La situation proche de la mer est idéale. Possibilités de balades à pieds. Proximité avec Dieppe et Veules sur mer.

Goede locatie voor bezoek vd regio.vriendelijk onthaal. Verzorgd ontbijt mogelijk, wel extra te betalen.

De suite was duister en vochtig. Een kapstok in de kamer of stoel zou handig zijn. Onhandig koffieapparaat.

Het ontbijt was zalig! Met iedere dag iets speciaals erbij. Vaak zelfgemaakt. Host was op n fijne natuurlijke manier servicegericht. Fijn om 2 kamers te hebben. Sfeervolle inrichting. Het was echt thuiskomen! We hebben er veel gefietst. Was goed te doen. Terugkomend vanuit Dieppe waren wel wat erg stijle hellingen te overwinnen maar met n e-bike redelijk te doen. Fietsen stonden onder n afdak en bij regen konden ze ergens anders staan - beter beschut- maar wij hadden geen regen😉

C’est sombre besoin d’éclairage électrique même le jour C’est plutôt froid mais c’est parce que le chauffage n’était pas allumé ni dans la pièce principale ni dans la salle de bain. Cafetière mise à disposition pas très fonctionnelle
