Location good 7 minutes from intended visit.

No towel provided, and even after making staff aware on first night, still no towel arrived. Bed is comfortable, but quilt and sheets creased and old looking.

The towel supplied was soaking wet, asked host twice but she would not supply another so had no towel for 2 days. Her only suggestion was put it on the radiator, which weren’t on, and I wasn’t even sure if the towel was clean. Had to use my T-shirts in the end. Listing and pics show Toiletries & chocolates, in reality no chocolate & a tiny round soap. Dirty cleaning equipment left in bathroom. Shower repaired with packing tape. Bedroom TV box was just hanging by a cable. TV remote stopped working so couldn’t change channels or volume so unable to watch any TV. Headboard is drilled and screwed to the wall, looks really shoddy. The kitchen was the biggest letdown. Photos show a nice kitchen. In reality worn with big “LOCKED” stickers on every cupboard. Also cluttered with items on top of the cupboards and fridge. You can only open one very small cupboard with cups in. Very unwelcoming and felt like being in a prison where everything is locked down. They said the washing machine was broken and you can’t use the dishwasher. Dirty pan in the oven. The fridge was dented & grotty & the freezer compartment door was missing. There are cheap plastic sheets sellotaped to the wall as splashbacks. The silicone on the hob was very grotty & looked unhygienic. Microwave dirty. Overall, a pretty depressing kitchen. Listed as having garden and terrace, pointless as you can’t get to either of those & can only see the garden from the bedroom windows with only a shed to see. The entire bottom half of the house apart from the kitchen is locked down and out of bounds. The hallway was full of washing (sadly no dry towels) with a couple of webcams watching you. As a room to sleep in it did its job but after that there aren’t really many good points. The house is decent, but let down by the standard it’s been done to and the way it’s being managed. I don’t know what market it’s aimed at but for someone wanting a base for a couple of days you can do a lot better.

The owner was accommodating and allowed for an early check in. The bed was very comfortable.

The space did not feel inviting, it felt like you were invading someone’s space. All but one kitchen cupboard was open, the rest were locked and all the plates and cutlery were placed in a drying rack. There was only one fork which was bent, there was laundry in the washing machine for the 6 nights I was there meaning you couldn’t use it. It just felt like you weren’t welcome yet the point of going to such places instead of hotels is the welcoming home feel where you can cook, wash and relax. Also, if you decide to go, carry inside shoes as you are not allowed to wear outside shoes inside (it’s reasonable but not told in advance).
