The breakfast although you had a short walk to their sister hotel to get it!
The cleanliness! They don't clean. Water in the kettle, dust everywhere, filthy bath with soap scum and tide marks plus black mould all along the sides. Rotten window you can see daylight through, dirty cup. Carpets need replacing as torn. We were given a different room at the other hotel at no further charge .

Over bath shower isn’t great

Very old building in centre of Ironbridge. Helpful staff and very clean, on site parking.
The building being very old was a bit jaded in some areas but painting was ongoing. In my room, the shower would benefit from the shower head being replaced.

The staff were great & very welcoming. We had the afternoon tea whilst staying here & it was really tasty, as was the breakfast! It’s also a fab location & good value for money.
The rooms are a little dated & our shower wasn’t great, no shower curtain & there was no fixture for the shower head.
The room could have been cleaner, there were cobwebs & it hadn’t been hoovered well.

The bar and restaurant where nice and easy to park
The carpet leading to the room and In the room were filthy . The bathroom had cobwebs and hairs over the bath and sink and there was a mixer shower with no shower curtain or way of holding the shower up. The bed however was clean

Excellent location with free parking. Nice warm pub and bedroom. Good meal served in the evening. Breakfast was at the sister pub just a minute up the road and was very good. Ideal as a base for exploring the area.

Beds poor and very uncomfortable no hot water !Luke warm at best! Corridors were dirty warm and smelt like a butchers??? Strange.
Breakfast was up the road in another pub, very poor selection and felt like an inconvenience!

Room was lovely bed was so comfortable and the pillows.
Staff were great .
Was a really good price
Likes it all but The only problem was the shower in my room had no pressure and ran slow like a tap no jet .
And everyone was waiting ages for the breakfast in the malt house

The one thing I liked was the bed. The one in Room 4 was a comfy small double for one, all be it squeezed into the corner of the room. The pillows were fluffy and soft and the duvet warm with crisp white coverings and gave a good night's sleep.
Parking was minimal and awkward and easier in the adjacent public car park. The Swan building itself has seen better days and is looking rather tired now. The stair carpet up to the bedrooms was atrocious looking particularly grubby. The extract fan noise from the kitchen was too much to bear in room 1 so was moved to room 4. The shower in room 4 was seriously under powered, just a drizzle. Shame as this place has bags of potential - with some investment.
Breakfast was in the neighbouring premises, so a short walk up the street. The welcome there was somewhat lacking by the young lady waitress, no eye contact or warmth in her voice bordered on rudeness. I waited nearly half an hour for my cooked breakfast to be served. Perhaps just a bad start to the day for them!

Location and staff were amazing.
Room/access stairs/passageway/decor were desperately needing cleaning and painting.
Cleanliness of room access routes and access routes paintwork was appalling.

Sheets were clean, the room was comfortable. The staff were excellent, very welcoming and friendly, and they upgraded me to a bigger room which was lovely.
The stairway to the room smelled like pee, not a great introduction to the property. The bathroom in the room also felt a bit grubby, the bathtub didn’t seem like it had been cleaned very well. There was a hornet in the room on the Friday night, and so many ladybugs!

Disgusting stair carpet
Filthiest I've ever seen
Shame as the hotel was largely good

the staff were very welcoming and pleasant and the service was good in the on-site restaurant. Excellent burger!
The room had an unusual feature, with a large pane see-through glass floor showing the original beams below ground.
The room is not well lit, with a single ceiling bulb and bedside lights not giving enough light in the room.
The bathroom has a loose toilet seat and the shower attachment in the bath was leaking (no shower curtain ither).
The stairs to the rooms is all dirty, stained and ripped.
I suppose you get what you pay for, as the rate is very good including breakfast.

Breakfast was fine at nearby hotel.
Both rooms were fine though one a little dark. I liked the glass floor in mine.
Dinner at the Swan Taphouse and the nearby hotel perfect.
Nice to remain after the meal for a drink without being rushed.
Enjoyed it as it is!

All the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was really good and very comfortable. Parking was a bit limited but managed to park most days
More information in the room such as wifi password, an essential these days. Also a reminder of the breakfast times.

Weekend away with my partner as this hotel looked fantastic on the website. The review I'm giving is based on the accommodation rooms in The Swan Hotel and not the bar area downstairs. It also has no impact on the hotel staff as they were so friendly and a joy to talk to. Upon entering the accommodation rooms going up the stairs the carpet was so worn and dirty it had actually split and there were big holes in the carpet creating trip hazards for all guests and staff. Doors were dirty and to be honest only needed a wipe down with a cloth but first impressions were not great. Upon entering the room is looked quite cozy with the wooden beams but having a closer look the room was dirty. Cobwebs were hanging from the beams and the windows were covered in webs, dead flies and dead wasps. This room also had an issue with wasps and we had several in our room. We spoke with the staff who informed us that they had had a problem but thought the wasps were now dead. This was not the case. Bathroom was grubby and toilet base was filthy. Plug sockets had big gaps around them. Things were just not clean and jobs had not been finished correctly. There was a shower in the bathroom but no shower curtain and no holder on the wall for a shower to be fitted. The hotel was full so we couldn't be moved.
This review does not reflect the pub and the food that was great. Breakfast was superb at the Malt House next-door it actually was exceptional.
As above our issue was the accommodation rooms. Metal bed frame that creaked every time you moved that had seen better days and because the windows didn't close properly some traffic not all was quite loud. I would also like to make people aware that if you are a light sleeper this hotel is not for you. The staff have a get together after their shifts on a Saturday night for drinks which was directly below our room and you could hear everything.

Comfortable bed, room was clean, staff welcoming on check-in,
Car park was very tight, stairs to room were very steep and in need of some tlc.

Location is great, plenty of parking, staff were fantastic and a great choice of beers. Breakfast is served at another pub about 30 yards away and was spot on. Great value for money given the location.
It needs a makeover. The stair walls and carpets are very grim walking to the rooms and the bath in my room wasn’t clean but I had no option but to use it as there was no shower. I had to kneel in the bath whilst holding the shower attachment, not ideal. All this place needs is a lick paint, some carpets and it would be brilliant.

Great location for visiting Ironbridge, the food in the pub was good and the breakfast at the Malthouse a couple of doors away was excellent. The beds were nice and comfy and the rooms are also dog-friendly, which is a big bonus. Great value for money too
The bathrooms and communal areas have definitely seen better days and could do with a spruce up
5.0 / 10.0
Cooked breakfast excellent but the fact that you had to pay extra for a proper cup of coffee is shocking
Room was not very clean and the bed sagged. The bathroom was dirty and not cleaned between days. The windows are in poor condition, unsound and full of condensation. Traffic noise disturbed our sleep. I ordered roast pork for dinner, expecting slices of pork, I received a block of belly pork and was told crackling was a side order. It was disgusting. My husband’s vegetarian meal was of a quality which would not have been sought after again.

The sheets and pillows were so nice. The bed so comfortable. I slept really well.

I was given a children's mattress which was smaller than a single bed to sleep on, I'm 6ft 1 so had no chance. The toilet didn't flush and wasn't clean the shower smelt like a fridge that had been turned off for a week during summer, also not clean, I went out for the evening and when I got back the whole room stank of grease as if the extractor from their kitchen was directly fed into my room, carpets were disgusting

Accommodation was acceptable & clean. This is an old building so some of the facilities are a bit restrictive.
Breakfast was served at the sister hotel which was just down the road. Breakfast was good.
We had an evening meal at the Swan Taphouse which was very nice.
Good location for Iron Bridge
Parking was limited but this was not a problem as managed to park across the road

The only negative I can put forward is the mattrasses were a bit hard and lumpy.
