The breakfast layout was one of the best we have seen in a long time.
The choice of food was also good.
We were unfortunately given a room that was 2 storeys high. given our medical conditions, we were unable to carry our suitcase up two flights of stairs. We had to rely on staff helping us.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Grounds are beautiful.
Overpriced rooms. Heating didn’t work so beds felt cold and damp.

A nice comfortable hotel with excellent staff. Breakfast was really good & plentiful.
Reasonably priced rooms.
Great position with a short walk to the town.
Large carpark.
The bathrooms were getting a bit tired, especially the showers.

It was in a good location
We upgraded to an executive room but the bed was still just a double, and the bathroom was cold. There was only one person serving at the bar and they had a function going on, we waited over 10 minutes to be served.

Very cosy and warm and staff made us feel at home straight away

Easy parking, beautiful location, spacious room, in-house restaurant.
The decor needs a rigorous update, it felt we were in a time warp. The floor tiles in the bathroom were cracked, the pelmet was fixed with staples, the fake flowers have faded … Best Western needs to invest in this hotel, it has a lot going for it. Surprisingly, we couldn’t pay contactless.

Location, staff attention
Rooms weren`t close together, I asked for a room with a view, however, the room faced a rooftop about 10 feet away so no view at all.

Excellent Breakfast served by extremely friendly staff
Our room was at the top of some extremely steep stairs which made access hard for us at our age. Also the adjacent room's bathroom was next to where we slept so we could hear whenever it was being used especially the shower.

Breakfast and evening meals were lovely although a greater vegetarian choice would have been nice.
The mattress was uneven and rolled out towards the edge of the bed on one side.

The room was well laid out, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean
the only thing missing, it must have been an oversight, there was no toilet brush

Lovely location
I initially had a room up a spiral staircase with no external window. I could have stayed in better accommodation for the same price or less. I was moved rooms to number 24 which was cold. I asked the girl on reception if heating was on a timer and she said yes, the heating never came on. By this time I thought I’m not going back to reception as I don’t normally complain and didn’t want to come across like it. Room was that cold I didn’t dare shower just went to bed.

Great staff, lovely location. Beautiful gardens by the river. Great food, lovely restaurant & bar. Free prosecco at dinner for my birthday which was a nice surprise and the staff all wished me a happy birthday too.
Old fashioned bedroom and ensuite... with very little worktop space to put your toiletries on. A picture on the wall in the bedroom mentioned the 'Devil's Hill' we don't want to see any reference to the devil, even a landmark! The room information booklet is not up to date, the restaurant menu was different. The furnishings are very dated compared to other hotels. Only one bottle of water provided for 2 occupants.

Location and restaurant good. The bed was very comfortable.
The room was not very welcoming, as it was a very cold day the Windows were open and the radiators were off plus the window latches would not shut properly.
On a personal note we do not like four poster beds.

Lovely setting and building.
A little dated maybe. Could have done with a mini fridge in the room.

The property had loads of character. It was spotlessly clean. Very comfortable & beautiful gardens. The staff were all great. Food was very good.

The hotel was lovely. Nicely appointed and comfortable. The first night the room was too hot and we had to get someone to adjust the temperature. We also needed extra pillows which were easily obtained. The staff were polite and helpful and the food in the restaurant was very good. The location was nice.
Although the hotel is in a good location, it is near the gorge which affects the sat nav and google. The country road to the hotel is windey and steep and the carpark is on a slope. My companion has walking difficulties and found it challenging to get into the hotel, although once inside there is a lift.

The staff were all so lovely and helpful. Plus, the food served both in the restaurant and bar was exceptionally tasty with a good selection of meals. So, we had all our breakfasts and evening meals at the hotel - we stayed for three nights. We are already planning to visit again next year.
The shower in our room was a little difficult to use and the extractor fan was very noisy but neither of these issues distracted from our enjoyment of the hotel.

ALL of the staff that we met during our stay, were genuinely friendly, helpful and efficient. A very well run hotel.
The restaurant food was fantastic and way above expectations. We were very pleasantly surprised by that and changed our eating-out plans, in order to eat at the hotel on 3 of the 4 nights. I've never done that before!
The breakfast buffets were excellent too, with a good choice of freshly cooked, top quality ingredients, which were regularly topped up as needed.
The location of the hotel was perfect for us, with the wonderful, unique iron bridge and nearby shops and cafes within easy walking distance. It is also located very centrally for visiting the many excellent museums in the area and we managed to visit most of them, which was great.
In addition, it was within easy travelling distance for the Severn Valley railway (highly recommended), Much Wenlock (a beautiful village) and Shrewsbury.
My room was serviced each day and re-stocked with tea, coffee, milk and biscuits. Everything worked as expected and although the room may seem a little dated to some, it definitely had a nice comfortable "country house" feel to it and I liked it. The layout of the hotel and guest rooms was quirky and reflects the history and adaptation of the building over time and I really liked it - a refreshing change from "chain" hotels.
I would most certainly be happy to return.
Not a complaint, just a suggestion: some USB charging points in the wall sockets would be useful.

Very clean and attractive. We were able to use the lift and the accessible room was spacious and comfortable with great facilities and had a huge en suite shower.
Staff very helpful and friendly. We had an evening meal which was great and breakfast was excellent. Plenty of choice and lots of everything.

location excellent for walking to Ironbridge. The staff were very attentive. The restaurant was nicely decorated and the food was not bad. There was a reasonable selection for breakfast which was constantly being topped up
The rooms were in need of revamping. We were greeted with an overwhelming smell of bleach in the room. The curtain lining was longer than the curtains, the curtains were hung on 3 hooks and kept falling off rail. The bathroom needs sprucing up. Visible mould around bath and shower. Shower screen had a really old seal that looked manky and horrible. The toilet seat was well worn and tatty. We had one biscuit, one bottle of water and one hotchocolate to share between two of us.. Very tight. The following day not even that, I had to ask for water from the bar.

The staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient.
My room was excellent. The price was very good and the room was comfortable, clean and had character.
I loved the entrance hall and stairs with their unique tiling.
The menu in the restaurant seemed rather limited. The choice seemed to be generally rich food, which if I had been staying longer, would have been less than satisfactory. Perhaps some healthier options could be added?

Perfect location for visiting Ironbridge.
Walls very thin. Quite noisy especially if you get unsocial guests next door or above you. We did both nights sadly.

Lovely setting, lovely period property, room warm, bed comfortable, lovely staff, excellent breakfast. Excellent location.
Room had no windows, no view, felt a bit claustrophobic and was very expensive! Would expect a view for what we paid, particularly given the beautiful setting. That element was disappointing. Tea and coffee facilities in the room a bit rubbish too given the price!

Good location on the edge of Ironbridge, so less traffic and pedestrian noise. Only a short walk to town centre, attractions, shops and pubs etc. Breakfast was good quality and good options. Room was a good size, as was the ensuite. All the staff were pleasant and friendly.
Nothing that I can recall.

A lovely building with freshly updated interiors.
Staff friendly and helpful.
My elderly mother had a choking incident and a member of staff knew exactly what to do, due to her 1st aid training.
Scaffolding on the building and obscuring our view from the bedroom. However, for the upkeep of the hotel, it is obviously a necessity.

Nice room with a comfy bed, staff are welcoming and lovely
I’d booked for a late check out for 12 noon, I didn’t realise that it hadn’t been accepted as my room upgrade had been granted at the same time so was confusing, but can’t fault the hotel
