The cottage was wonderfully located. Facilities and host were generous to a fault.

The facilities were excellent, the host was charming as was the property.

Having the underside of a stairwell protrude into the bathroom was a little problematic...I'm short but did hit my head couple of times.

Highly Recommended!

The location! Perfectly on the Trotternish Trail for Isle of Skye adventures, with just the touch of rustic one requires on a trip like this. Living out of this cottage felt like you were inside a postcard, all through! Just to the left of the cottage is an UNBELIEVABLE VIEW. From each of the windows of the place, you look onto meadows & many other cottages, vastly spread across the green. All the amenities work fantastically. Even though there is an electric heater that more than does a sufficient job, there is also an old fashioned log lit fireplace for the living room, which makes the experience of sitting on the ample couch at the end of day long treks rather twee & cozy! The bath/loo feels luxurious, given the size of the home, with the shower heating water to perfection & a heater/dryer rack that crisps up washed clothes comfortably overnight. The kitchen is stocked really well with appliances - electric stove plates, oven & fridge even though the space for the kitchenette is shared with the living. The bedroom has its own, great heater & a really nice comfy bed. The hosts seem really sweet, non-intrusive, laid back, helpful & accommodating.

I do wish the fridge had been a whole lot larger. For a couple who has many dietary restrictions, that was the ONLY downside to the place. It was rather out of our budget too, per night, but we came to realise that is the usual price around Scotland, particularly the northern parts.

Having a peaceful and really really quiet place with a view and short drives to the two great tourist hikes Quirang and Storr is great. Its cozy, small, private and immediately feels like you could live there.

Beautiful Staffin

This place was perfect! Lovely self-catering cottage in a beautiful quiet corner of Skye, but still the perfect base for exploring! Compact as described but clean and comfortable. The owners were great at communicating and everything we needed was supplied. We would definitely stay again!

chilled out few days - great views - kitchen well equipped and suitable for a walking base

remote location ideal for a chill out and near to several must see locations on Skye , real fire being started on arrival was excellent and hosts even supplied a couple of local beers and treats for our dog and loved the electric blanket

Love love love!!!

The cottage was very easy to find considering I forgot to put it on my Google maps. My initial thoughts were 'perfectly stunning!'. I met with Donald to let him know I arrived and he was very pleasant and welcoming. I had already received an email from them prior to arriving with lots of helpful/useful info. The cottage was perfect. It waS exactly what I needed for myself and a nervous dog who felt completely at home here. Total bliss! Did not hear a thing throughout the day and night, just total peace. The cottage had everything I needed to keep me going over the couple of nights I stayed. I thought the beer, shortbread and doggy treats were a lovely little surprise, thank you so much! There was also plenty of wood and coal supplied for the fire. I thought the cottage was surprisingly bigger than what I expected from the pictures which was good since my dog is a fair size. The cottage is also in the perfect area for sight seeing and if you're like me, some photography. It is also very near the Old Man Of Storr which was added to the list of things to see! Mesmerising. I've been to Skye many times and stayed In a number of different self catering accommodation but not any have compared to this quaint little beauty. In all, I very much recommend Ben View cottage and wish I didn't have to leave! Hope to see yous again very soon!!

Amazing views, cosy cottage, fire was lit when we arrived. Lovely welcome package of shortbread, beer and dog biscuits! Well equipped kitchen too minus a wooden spoon. Nit a criticism though, loved it and will be back.

The property was cosy, quiet and surrounding area was stunning. it was fully functional had everything we needed from plates, microwave, oven & hob. The wee things made it more special with jam, marmalade, tea & coffee we didn’t need to bring any supplies. We had a lovely welcome pack beer & shortbread it was delicious and dog biscuits. There was a supply of coal & wood at side of house.

Exactly what I wanted, a wee cottage in a peaceful location and a great base. The views surrounding the cottage are stunning. My pup and I had a great stay. Hosts were very helpful with my questions and it was a lovely surprise to have dog treats, gluten free bars and a local beer waiting for us. The log burner was a welcome addition.

The decor is a bit tired but it didn’t affect our holiday.

Comfortable quiet retreat

Owners very helpful and attentive, a beautiful location, and the house was even more comfortable than I expected, e.g. extra heaters and stove on when we arrived, all the kitchen equipment/appliances you could need, very private, and dog friendly. Just what you want from a rural cottage, couldn't really have been better.

Not much really, low water pressure and my partner thought the bed could be better though I was quite comfortable.
