Enjoyable stay

We loved the location and the cute little house, gate and parking area.

It got pretty chilly while we stayed there. It took quite a while to warm the house up.

The appartment was quite spacious. It could be nice if someone invested some time and effort.

The property was very nicely located. It had a great view on the ocean. Beds were clean.

The Flore is falling appart. Is looks like it had seen some flods. Mold everywere. Squashed fly on the floor. Unstable table. No dishwasher :( No wifi :( Super expensive. Only rent this place as a last resort. I would rather camp somewhere if possible

Great location for hiking. Note Portree is closest supermarket. Comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchen.

Kitchen fridge only. No freezer. Fry pan needs replacing. No wifi. Shower a bit tricky to operate. Very expensive for what it is.

Not worth the money

Most tourist highlights were nearby.

It was extremely outdated. Everything that was wrong about it can be read in other reviews, since there hasn’t been done anything with the feedback. The abandoned house next door was so creepy some of us had trouble sleeping and being in the house made us all uncomfortable. Would highly suggest renting another venue for this money.

In need of major remodeling and updating!

The house was clean and the view was nice

The house was in poor condition. While it was very clean, it was clear that nobody has cared for the property in years. Looking at reviews from 2 years ago, the photos are identical to what we experienced. The vinyl flooring was cheap and coming up, had holes in some spots and splits in others. Everything about the house was dated and in need of repair/replacement. There was mold in the bathroom. The exterior wall was crumbling, the path leading to the house was unkempt and there was a very spooky house next door that had been left to ruin. Additionally, there was a barn or some sort on the other side that was also falling down. This could be a lovely guest house! What is needed is a serious update to everything. It was disappointing to see that 2 year old reviews have clearly been ignored. We left a day early because it was so uncomfortable.

Location is good

Property is very dated and tired looking. Had a damp smell. Vinyl on kitchen and bathroom is cracked. Keybox difficult to open. Single beds not suitable for adults. Slates not even secured with clamps and one bed collapsed as an elderly person sat on it and had to sleep on the floor for the night

Tranquil Staffin with Fabulous Sea View

I loved the location and the views were amazing all around the property especially from the front windows. Cottage is well equipped and all beds and furniture was comfortable. Very clean!

I knew in advance that there was no wifi but hadn't considered that there would be no mobile coverage which is no fault of the host but we did feel a bit vulnerable having no outside contact. In the end it worked out ok and the holiday was very peaceful and restful. I have no complaints about the cottage, loved it!!

LOVE the island and the cottage's comfort and location just made it even better ....

The Cottage was great with beautiful views of the mountains and cliffs and the coast. Place itself was lovely...very clean with very good facilities. The location was also brilliant on the island as its on the doorstep of the fabulous Quaraing and only about 15 mins from the Storr. Lovely place - high recommended but hope its available for when i return next year.

Lack of Wi-Fi and also mobile signal occasionally Wi-Fi would be the only downsides but otherwise - ALL good !!

disappointing

It looked like a sweet cottage in the photos in a good location. The garden would probably be nice in the summer

From the photos this property looked nice, but we found it to be very cheaply furnished - a little like staying in a council house or bunk house. Very few comforts, flimsy furniture, no wi-fi, only one bedroom carpeted, the rest cheap laminate flooring. The whole house smelt of dogs and cheap cleaning products, and it became obvious on entering that the house caters for dog owners with notices on the doors asking for dog poop to be binned - we hadn't realised this from the listing on booking.com. If you're a dog owner and can't find anywhere else that allows dogs, it would probably fit the bill but for £100 a night, out-of-season (in January), it is hugely over-priced. As someone who lives on Skye and has first hand experience of a number of different holiday rentals in Skye and elsewhere in the highlands, I would say this is currently a rip-off and shouldn't be priced at more than £60 per night.

Het uitzicht was mooi. Ook fijn een omheinde tuin voor de hond zodat die niet weg kon lopen. Keuken was compleet ingericht.

Weken geprobeerd om meer info over de sleutel te krijgen, bizar slecht bereikbaar, je wordt van t kastje naar de muur gestuurd. Bij aankomst was er maar 1 werkende sleutel de rest aan sleutelbos was kapot. Je kon niet normaal op de bank zitten want dan zakte je helemaal weg. Er was geen salontafel. Vloeren waren kapot. Douchen: kan of helemaal koud of veel te heet. Niet dus. Voor de hoge prijs zou ik dit huis niet aanraden.

Totale Bruchbude, Heizung ging nicht, als wir ankamen, Duschwasser ist entweder heiß oder kalt, Ventilator im Bad hängt fest, aber Motor brummt- irgendwann brennt dort ein Kabel durch, beim Gasherd geht die Flamme aus, wenn man auf niedere Temperatur stellt und danach strömt das Gas einfach weiter aus… total gefährlich. Der Boden ist total kaputt, abgelaufen, mit Rissen, Tischplatte kaputt, alles wirkt so respektlos gegenüber den Gästen, dass man froh ist, wenn man endlich wieder gehen darf. Eine ganz üble Abzocke für das Geld!

les lits étaient confortables ainsi que les fauteuils du salon. La maison avait été nettoyée correctement. Machine à laver dans la maison.

Nous avons payé un prix élevé pour deux nuits à Amber's cottage. La maison ne correspond pas aux photos et encore moins au prix demandé, même à Skye!!!! Tout est vieux +++ et décrépi. La maison est entourée de deux maisons en ruine, l'environnement immédiat est très laid malgré la vue sur la mer. Le lino de la cuisine est arraché par endroits, la table et les chaises de la cuisine menacent de s'effondrer à tout moment. Les casseroles et matériels de cuisine étaient sales et abimés. La salle de bains est moisie par endroits, le sol autour des toilettes est à refaire. Pour récupérer les clés nous avons dù appeler plusieurs fois et la boite à clés étant totalement rouillée il nous a été difficile de l'ouvrir, la personne s'impatientait clairement au bout du fil. Il y a une espèce de classeur tout collant où nous pensions trouver des informations sur l'île, c'est seulement les garanties et modes d'emploi. L'aspirateur du logement était plein et très sale. Nous avons fait une réclamation auprès d'Amber's cottage, nous attendons toujours la réponse.. Nous avons vraiment l'impression d'avoir été arnaqués.
