Isle of Skye luxury cottage near Portree

This was everything we could possibly have dreamed of for our holiday on Skye: complete peace and quiet, breathtaking views, beautiful surroundings, and an absolutely stunning house. The property is even more impressive in person than it appears in the photographs. Only when you arrive do you fully appreciate how much thought, care and attention to detail has gone into every part of it. Everything is beautifully designed, finished to an exceptionally high standard and spotlessly clean. The house is equipped far beyond what we would normally expect from a holiday rental. The kitchen is fantastic and features excellent appliances, including Miele. The bathroom is wonderful, and having both a washing machine and a tumble dryer was incredibly useful for an outdoors-focused holiday on Skye. High-quality toiletries were also provided. The enormous bed was exceptionally comfortable, with genuinely good down pillows — something that is surprisingly difficult to find even in expensive hotels. The bedding and towels were from The White Company London, and every detail, from the duvets and linens to the bathroom products, made us feel that the owners had truly considered the comfort of their guests. We travel a lot, and this level of care is very rare. The setting is simply magical. We woke up to birdsong, watched rabbits hopping around outside and sheep grazing nearby. It was wonderfully peaceful and felt like a complete escape, while the location was also very convenient for exploring different parts of the island by car. Our heartfelt thanks to the owners for creating such a beautiful and thoughtfully designed home. We could not recommend it more highly.

We really liked the peacefulness of the area, the garden around the cottage with beautiful old trees as well as the company of farm animals, rabbits and birds. The interior was really comfortable, cosy and at the same time spacious enough for the two of us. It was really pleasant to go back to this harmonous, calm, tastefully put together space after walking around the Isle. We feel grateful for the experience, Kasia and Waldek

Fabulous cottage, great location.

This is a lovely little cottage in a very quiet area surrounded by beautiful countryside. It was easy to find and access the cottage, and getting in touch with the host was incredibly easy. The bed was comfortable, and the accommodation had most of the facilities you would expect. The layout of the cottage was good and mostly worked for us.

Despite the booking.com page stating there was no charge for taking our dog, there was a request for £40 cash cleaning fees to be left in the cottage on departure. There was no microwave in the kitchen, something we think is personally a bit lacking in the modern era, especially in self-catering accommodation. Some of the saucepans had not been properly washed by the previous guest, so we had to wash them up. The slope up to the cottage from the parking area made it difficult to take our luggage in and out.
