Incredible stay in Monmouth

Second time staying here, the attention to detail and care put into this property is amazing. Everything you could need is supplied. It's lovely and clean, and decorated beautifully. Even had christmas lights and a tree decorated, which made out stay extra special. Will definitely stay again.

Very pretty - would recommend.

This is a very pretty little annex tucked away in a beautiful rural location with lots of lovely features. The hosts have generously laid on tea and biscuits and the furnishings are good quality and attractive. It's a lovely little hideaway.

It wasn't an issue for us because we're quite short but there is a sloping ceiling in the sitting area which might be a challenge if you were very tall. The annex is quite small although the kitchen is fully functional. Not any good if you're hoping to have guests round.

All generally as expected, or better. Bed was incredibly comfy, whole place was very cosy.

Lack of cooking oil was very frustrating and partially ruined cooking plans! But this was the only oversight in the whole place.

Was hoping for a washing machine but didn’t realize how tiny the flat was. Maybe add another fan? Also, the tv needs to be lowered as it’s a bit high to watch comfortably from the couch.

Beautiful place to stay. It had everything you would need. Catherine was attentive checking in to make sure we arrived ok. Lots of handy tips through out the property. Communication before arrival was very positive. Helpful travel tips given

Beautiful setting with a very comfy bed.

A really beautiful location in the middle of nowhere with a lovely garden, perfect for a chill out break. I was here on business which was a shame as myself and my wife would have been very pleased with a few days here exploring the area.

Wifi was a bit hit and miss and they were unable to supply a VAT receipt for a business stay. This is a very small gripe as most people would stay here as a holiday and it is perfect for that.

Cosy bolt hole in a great location

We were looking for somewhere to stop over for two nights and how could we resist somewhere named the Bees Knees? The location just outside Monmouth was perfect for our needs and gave us the opportunity to explore the forest nearby. This extension on the side of the main house/converted barn was cosy and clean, with everything we needed. Comfortable bed with loads of pillows to choose from, good size shower and decent wifi. The lighting efffects were fun to play with and we did actually use them for softer lighting in the morning. We were treated to cake, tea and coffee and there was milk waiting in the fridge. The weather was still good for the time of year so we were able to sit out in the fenced-off garden area and enjoy the view. We didn't use the full kitchen, but we could have easily cooked for ourelves if we'd been staying longer. Our hosts made it easy to get the keys and when the electricity briefly failed were really responsive. We very much enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to anyone looking to be in the area for a few days.

It really was the Bees Knees

Lovely, cosy and very clean. The owners had thought of everything and the attention to detail and little touches really set the Bees Knees apart from other places we have been previously. Fresh flowers and some hot cross buns for the easter weekend made us feel at home straight away. Comfy bed, well appointed kitchen and lots of information about what is around. Listening to the birdsong in the morning was lovely. Would highly recommend and happy we found it.

The apartment was the perfect little bolt hole for us. Lovely decor. Very clean and comfortable, Everything has been thought of. Great for a lazy lay in followed by lots of walking and exploring the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean, and the hills around Abergavenny. Then the well-earned relaxation in the evening with tired legs and feet. Highly recommended!
