Would stay there again! Highly recommend!

We chose the Hotel Schloss Zell because we wanted to stay in a castle, and it didn't disappoint. Our tower room was surprisingly spacious and lovely. The bathroom was sparkling clean and modern. We opted to eat all dinners in Giovanni's, the on-site restaurant, with delicious food and service. The location was ideal -- mere steps from the Moselle River walk, shops, and bus stop (10-minute bus ride to Bullay train station). Our hosts, Jana and Giovanni, were gracious and helpful!

Nice friendly hotel with a good restaurant

Quiet. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast! And really good restaurant but unfortunately it was closed for several days during our stay. A nice courtyard where we could eat breakfast. Parking at the courtyard.

No air conditioning. But there was a fan to use. no change of towels for 3 days, but I guess I could’ve asked for it 🙂

Very good

We loved our stay at Hotel Schloss. Both Karin and Norbert were very welcoming, informative and helpful. Our room like all of the hotel was full of character and very comfortable. Breakfast was a delightful experience and the *local box" of breakfast foods was fantastic. The hotel location is excellent, near the centre but still very quiet There is ongoing work being carried out to upgrade the hotel but it was not impactful. Hotel Schloss is highly recommended. Our stay there was a truly lovely experience. .

Exceptional

Warm and very lovely welcome by the hosts. Brilliant breakfast at the Italian restaurant next door (as the breakfast space was being refurbished), I hope they keep that going though. Lots of character and great location for tours around and along the Mosel.

The rooms towards the front can be a bit loud if there are guests or visitors from the restaurant sitting in the courtyard until late at night. Would have loved to see more of the character of the building and history shine through (maybe add some facts as leaflet / part of the room tour?). We had a great stay overall though, can very much recommend!

Unforgettable stay in a castle on the Mosel

ITS A CASTLE!!! The architecture and general aura of the place is incredible Great breakfast The feel of the place was very intimate - the staff took the time to get to know us and gave great local recommendations, The tower room is comfortable, antique, spacious, and just cool.

There was no A/C - only a fan and it didn't do much against the mid-summer heat. The wifi was dismal - it didn't work in my room at all and even down on the first floor in the main lobby, it struggled.

Very good

This was a very nice place to stay. We were in one of the tower rooms which was a little quirky but very comfortable. Passing traffic was a little noisy first thing in the morning but otherwise we were warmly welcomed by very friendly staff and the breakfast in the lovely dining room was excellent - I don't think I have had breakfast with lit candles before hand.

As with all old structures, one must watch for stairs, differing floor levels, etc. This is part of the charm but for those impaired or handicapped, something to consider.

No trip to the Mosel is complete with a stay in Hotel Schloss Zell

This place is amazing. I have stayed at Renaissance-era hotels before, but this hotel is truly a late Gothic Schloss. Not neo-Gothic, but 15th-century late Gothic. Of course you have to enjoy historic hotels, but if you do, this one is unforgettable. We had truly original Gothic decorations on our balcony and a WC in a Gothic tower. To maintain the historic character, the owners have tried not to overwhelm the place with modern technology, so don't expect a giant TV screen. But do expect a truly lovely historic breakfast room and by far the most beautiful building in the whole town, a tourist site in itself! No trip to the Mosel is complete with a stay in Hotel Schloss Zell!

For my taste, this place is perfect. Some people might complain about lack of an elevator. I would rather have an original winding Gothic staircase not disfigured by modern technology!

Frühstück war gut jedoch keine auswahl. Kein Obst kein Müsli immer die gleiche itl. Wurst. Zimmer sauber , alles hat funktioniert jedoch fehlte der Charme, für ein solch historisches Gebäude.

Ein Haus mit Wohlfühlfaktor

Sehr gute Lage, sehr schönes, altes Schloss. Saubere Zimmer, bequeme Betten. Sehr nette und zugewandte Gastgeber. Frühstück ließ keine Wünsche aus. In dem dazugehörigen italienischen Restaurant kann man am Abend in einem wunderschönen Schloßambiente gepflegt speisen.

An Gastfreundlichkeit kaum zu überbieten. So freundlich wurden wir schon lange nicht mehr empfangen. Im Zimmer war es sauber und alles nötige war vorhanden. Beim Frühstück hat es auch an nichts gefehlt. Das Frühstück wurde am Tisch serviert und alle Wünsche wurden erfüllt.

Das Essen war lecker und man hat sich als Gast gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Hunde sind willkommen und wir wurden rund um gut entsorgt.

Wer sich in einem Schloss wohl fühlt oder es mal spüren möchte, darf da hin!!

Das Ambiente des Hotel Schloss ist außergewöhnlich und der Gast darf sich in eine längst vergangene Zeit zurückversetzen und einfach fallen lassen. Natürlich ist das Hotel in die Jahre gekommen und die Schlossherren, vor allem die Schlossherrin, versprühen einen Charme der Einfühlsamkeit, Sympathie, Menschlichkeit und der Gast ist bei ihnen jederzeit willkommen. Dieses Verhalten ist in der heutigen Zeit leider nur noch selten anzufinden und ruht für uns auf einer Basis der Gastfreundschaft und Leidenschaft, die tief in einem Menschen verankert sein darf.

Es dürfen die einen oder anderen kleinen (!) Investitionen, vor allem in die Bettenqualität getätigt werden. Keine großen Umbauten oder Investitionen bitte, denn das würde den Schlosscharakter stören.

Sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt

Das Schlosshotel liegt eingangs der Fußgängerzone von Zell und in unmittelbarer Nähe der Mosel. Der Empfang der Hotelinhaberin war sehr nett und freundlich. Die gute Zimmerausstattung entsprach dem Hotelnamen; ungewöhnlich und angenehm anders. Das Badezimmer war neu ausgestattet und ungewöhnlich groß. Frühstück wurde am Tisch serviert und war sehr gut.

Empfang eines deutschen Fernsehprogramms entspricht nicht dem heutigen Standard der Fernsehtechnik.

Die Zimmer waren sehr ordentlich und sauber. Altmodisch, aber passt zum Schloss. Sehr freundliche Besitzerin und Personal. Super Frühstück und auch das Essen im Restaurant war sehr lecker.

Es gibt nichts zu meckern. Das wäre auf hohem Niveau.

Für eine Nacht ausreichend

Sehr herzlicher Empfang durch die Hotelbetreiberin. Die Lage des Hotels ist zentral aber dennoch ruhig gelegen. Es stehen einige Parkplätze direkt am Haus zur Verfügung.

Sehr, sehr in die Jahre gekommenes Hotel. Wenig romantisch, dafür mehr abgewohnt und alt. In unserem Zimmer zeigte das Fenster leider in einen total heruntergekommenen Innenhof. Zur Ablenkung gibt es einen Mini-Fernseher, der auf 3 Sendern funktionierte - ohne Fernbedienung - aber wer braucht an der Mosel schon TV?! Das Frühstück wurde mit längerer Wartezeit am Tisch serviert und war soweit okay.
