Great little find. Very clean, warm and value for money. Also warm was the welcome I got from Adam on reception - a friendly chat goes a long way. What a lovely guy he is and a true credit to being front of house! Would definitely stay again, easy to recommend.

Its location.
Haha sorry I couldn’t help myself. Umm nothing really it was what I expected.

This is an ex Premier Inn, and there are still some signs of the previous owners with purple door numbers and curtains! Quite basic, but it's fine for a night or two. Excellent location, next to the A1(M), and easy to get to Newcastle, Gateshead, and the Metro Shopping Centre. Breakfast is available as a 'to go' option at £7 pp. The two ladies on reception were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. It was my partners birthday, and they dressed the room up with a banner and balloons, which went down very well. The Waggon Team pub next door is excellent too! Would stay again.
Not a lot to dislike, it's going through a bit of refurbishment in some areas, but on the whole it's fine.

This is my second stay at the hotel. The rooms are a very good size, clean and nicely appointed. The first stay, we had a really comfortable bed. This stay the bed was a little creaky. Bathroom was clean but showing a a little wear and tear.
Kettle, tea and coffee available in the room, extras were given on request.
Breakfast. On the first stay a few months previously, cereals, pastries, yogurts and fruit was available for selection and I paid around £6. A cooked breakfast was also optional.
However, this stay I had to pre-order breakfast (fair enough) and paid £7.95. My cooked breakfast was served in a polystyrene takeaway container. The rest of my breakfast was given to me in a bag. I had to request a cup to make tea and was given a disposable one.
My take on this hotel - I would stay here again - but I would bring my own breakfast to eat in the room.

Location was next work.
Shower wasnt working. No help to resolve this despite staying for 5 days. Staff very unhelpful and made it seem lole everything was a chore. I would never stay here again.

The staff were friendly and brilliant. Happy to assist and help and friendly. Loved that there was tea/coffee available on the reception area. And that the pub connected next door had a pool table.
The only small thing was the air freshener that they use in the rooms is a bit too strong for my liking, had to hide mine in the bathroom as I didn’t like the smell too much. Otherwise was a lovely stay. Oh, their heating system was a bit weird to understand, but once the reception guy explained then it made sense. Wasn’t entirely obvious at the start.

We purposely picked this location to ensure value for money but with easy transport links to the town centre.
Our room was very spacious and comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure. The location is excellent, with bus stops close by, making it very easy to get around and explore Newcastle.
A special mention to Adam at reception (gent who was on the evening shift for both Friday and Saturday) — he was extremely kind and helpful throughout our stay, and one evening he insisted on helping us carry our pram up to the first floor, which we really appreciated after informing us that there is no lift. He was very welcoming and friendly and more than deserving of a shout out.
Overall, a great experience and we would happily stay here again.
If we have to mention, the cold water tap was a little difficult to fully close. There was hair in the bath plug hole. But it wasn’t blocking the bath nor were we dipping our toes in the plug hole but nonetheless wasn’t too much of a minor inconvenience.

Hotel was lovely bed was really comfy bath water was really good lovely and hot the staff were great we stayed December 5 to December 6 we weren't meant to stay two nights but had to leave because of family emergency on the Saturday the staff were lovely to us when we said we had to leave x

Excellent location, easy access to city centre. Very comfortable beds, clean rooms, friendly staff.
Although there was a corridor between the hotel and the pub we were unable to use this and had to go outside round to the front door of the pub.

The location of the hotel is super convenient especially with the pub next door and the bus stop for the metro centre just round the corner. The staff were super friendly too.
Everything was amazing apart from the heating as it wouldn't work

The convenience of the location. The room was clean and well laid out although there was a large empty space which looked like some seating was there but removed. The staff were efficient, helpful and knowledgeable.

Not much to not like about the hotel we stayed a cpl of nights it was fab👍

The staff were so lovely
Bit dated in the building areas. Needs soundproofing between rooms or better fitting doors into corridor. And possibly someone to check corridors on cctv if any late arrivals.
And
I had terrible guests on same floor. Maybe just unlucky. I wonder if people use it for nights out in Newcastle.
With it being out on the team valley, I thought it would have been commuters or business people.
But who knows.
Next door the guest’s were on a call, obviously on loud speaker at around midnight onw - some folks are senseless or ignorant
and
others came in 2-4 in the morning, noise in corridors, most likely drunk as no capability of reducing their own volume and letting doors bang as they went in and out of ea other rooms I presume. And laughter…. Shocking!
Joke but irritating if it’s not your own or your own parties!
I was staying as my accommodation in Hexham had been cancelled due to the storm. Just wanted 2 nights of peace.
Anyway, staff were lovely, obviously said I should have complained. But that would’ve meant trotting downstairs in my pjs, potentially moving rooms and also risk being seen and then scowled at if no temp rooms available!!

Room was spacious and good size bed and very comfortable
The doors were easy to hear out of and could hear everyone's conversations, and from 7am there was lots of noise but I suppose that's to be expected as people checking out just very easy to hear noises.

The people at the reception were very welcoming and helpfull. The rooms were clean, beds were comfy and housekeeping was very good. The café area was not very attractive, with a simple breakfast available, but there are some cafés and a restaurant close by for a nice morning coffee or buffet.

The bed was very comfortable. Fine hotel to stay in as long as your not going to spend much time in the hotel. Staff were very friendly.
Pretty run down. Bathroom was not clean. Not all towels were clean. Place needs a bit of money spent on it. Price paid was not worth the accommodation.
