Despite the note about dislikes, this place suited our needs, we used it as a base to visit Newcastle before moving some

Location and price, Staff polite and helpful.

Dated and worn; needs cleaning and decorating from top to bottom. The hotel seems to be used by construction contractors and can be quite noisy. This is due to thin partition walls and the floors rather than inconsiderate guests. Someone walking across the room above you can sound like they are actually in your room during the night!

Sorry! Nothing good to say about this place.

Could not get a shower as water was lukewarm. Bad smell throughout. Sure people were smoking in their rooms. Coffee stains on surfaces in room. Room felt unclean. The bedding did look clean though. This is a rundown hotel. Loose electric cable running across floor was a nice touch. We left within an hour of arrival. I didn't expect much for the price but i do expect a clean room with hot water. Decided to leave and put this down to experience.

Terrible! It ruined mine and my daughters experience

Did not get any information on breakfast, facilities to make a hot drink inside the room were dirty, inside the kettle was what looked like yellow water. Nothing about my stay was nice or comfortable.

Everything needed to be better, cleanliness was terrible, I was unable to use the bathroom tap due to the dirt around it. Tv remote was temperamental and barely worked. Carpets were stained with burn marks, light kept flickering in the room, mould in the windows in the room and bathroom, beds were like concrete not comfortable at all I did not feel safe in that hotel what so ever due to it being all males who ran it with very little English language. I am really really not happy with the state of the room conditions and safety.

Unacceptable conditions..

Just given the time to settle in, we noticed the bed had no pillows, strage thing but we go over it, we try to settle in, connect to the WiFi and I notice something moving on my chest as I take a closer look I notice it's a red tiny insect, I bounce off the panels I was laying against and what you see on the video isn't even enough to explain and show what was going on there. Unfortunately can't attach videos to show them crawling all around. Couldn't sleep there and left the same night

Ok as a base for a night out, if you can ignore the dirt

The price was very low and the location was excellent. Less than a 10 minute walk to the utilita arena. It is also one of the only places offering a room with 3 single beds, which is what we wanted.

We were 3 siblings going to a gig and getting drunk. The room was basic and not exactly clean, but it did us as a base for 1 night. None of us would return with our partners, but it met our needs for the night. Though being so drunk we could sleep anywhere may have helped.

Toilets unfinished. Panels behind toilet slid off when I dragged my towel off it. Room (4) was unfinished with a random table in the middle of the room with a dead electric socket on it. Plaster dust on wall messed up my clothes.

Cleanliness, dust, mould, holes in ceiling, stains and hairs in beds, no hot water in bathroom sink, plug socket fell out of wall, cold - heating not sufficient, bins had rubbish in. Was probably once a night room and hotel buts seemed a bit rundown.

Worst Hotel Ever !

Worst place I have ever stayed in and I stay in a lot of Hotels for work. The window had no window as it had been smashed and just had a very thin bit of plastic stuck on it insted. Letting all the cold and noise in from a very busy main road . The walls of the hotel are paper thin. The bed had a strange dip in the middle and gave me a bad back. Shared facilties were very load all night into the early hours. Contanlty woken up by other guests Huge party of guests coming back in the middle if the night woke us up from 3 until 5am partying . I complained and reception said there is nothing they can do . Guests running around the hotel shouting and playing knock and run in the middle of the night. I stayed 2 nights and both were a nightmare. Another its cheap it is Not Worth it ! Wost Hotel is have been in my life.

While the stay was fine the experience was awful

It was a nice location overlooking the whole city

They received the parking fee from me but they didn’t put it through to the parking management system. When I got back home I got 3 parking charges for 60 GBP for that night. And then I spent hours to talk to them about what they should have done so I don’t get a ticket but they don’t do anything. I’m furious. I wish I had never stayed there that night

It’s close to centre

Outdated bathroom, when you sat on toilet it was loose from wall, sink was also same, floor tiles in shower were jagged and dangerous, tv did not work, main light kept going on and off.

The stay was pleasant for the cost that was paid and the star level, good public transport links

The reception was a good size, and the staff were friendly. The breakfast was good, and the lady who cooked was friendly and chatty. The location was good and not too far from the Metro station, around a 10-15 minute walk, and a few buses pass by. Good public transport.

The temperature was either cold or really warm in communal areas, really warm in the en-suite, and chilly in the bedroom, so I tried to turn the dial to get some heat from the radiator. The wall cupboards next to the bed block the view of the TV, so I had to move the TV in order to see it. The walls were thin and you could hear noise and movement of other guests, as well as my room being next to the main road, so I could hear traffic all the time. The shower needs to have a bigger glass panel, as water didn't stay in the shower base and went onto the main floor. The toilet didn't flush properly, as it would look a dark yellow not long after it was flushed and then smelled.

Poor hotel

Location is the best thing about this hotel 20 minute walk from the utilita arena nothing else.

Where to start hotel had a smell like the carpets hadn't been cleaned in some time, room had a hole in the wall ceiling tiles missing shower and toile lt smelt beds weren't comfortable at all. Breakfast was additional £7 dining area had ceiling missing and signs of water damage breakfast didnt have real bacon and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in sometime. Noise through the night was horrific people screaming consistently.

Brilliant budget stay

Room was modern, clean and nice. Bathroom was very big and nice.

Only real downside was the door wouldnt lock at first it took some opening and closing to get it to work. A shower matt should have been included.

When we got to our room, there was a mission window that had been covered my cardboard. Needless to say this made the room not just cold but noisy. It was hard to sleep and this never exactly made us feel safe with being on the Ground floor.

Bathroom wasn’t great. Toilet seat was loose and held on by one hinge. The bathroom door didn’t lock or even shut into its frame so my daughters had very little privacy. Bathroom wasn’t clean and neither was the room They didn’t send in maid to make the beds or replace used towels during our stay. I had to ask for replacement towels. Breakfast was meant to be between 7 and 9 and when we arrived for breakfast at 8 they said the lady who does the cooking had gone home?! Not impressed at all

lots of issues to be aware of

no lift. multiple stairs to rooms. would not suit anyone with mobility issues. The rooms were in desperate need of a refit with lots of issues. shower head rail hanging off. tv not working that well, but more importantly, the tv surround was loose it could be pulled away from the screen itself, exposing the inside circuit boards of the tv (very dangerous). only 1 towel between two people. breakfast was ok and the cook was very pleasant and chatty. in fact all the staff were fine. it just needs a total refit . the curtains in the dining room were hanging down and broken the toilet was too small in the room and moved around when you sat on it, as did the one near the dining room. no shelves in the bathroom for toiletries, and the shower doors seals were hanging off, so water went everywhere. we had room 3 down 3 flights of stairs which was next to the main road so the traffic woke us up a few times. my partner suffers from a back and hip.issue so we had to use the fire exit to leave the premises or struggle up the stairs. would i go back,no the.only positive thing was it was cheap at 106.00 for 2 nights. if you want somewhere just to sleep, it passes barely. any more, and it doesn't.

Not the best experience

Greeted nicely by staff on arrival. Bed was pretty comfy and linen was clean. Possible to walk to the city centre or the metro.

The room smelt of cigarette smoke, enough that they had to spray it on arrival. By the time we returned from an evening meal out it was horrible again. The windows weren't lockable - one wouldn't close. They looked out onto a ground level and, on the first night, we had to listen to a drunk outside the window on the phone to his friend. The room was fairly run down and access to the gas room was via the ensuite and had been sellotaped off. By the second night there was no hot water left and the shower was cold. Had we not been out all day we would have checked out earlier. I've solo-travelled a lot before without issue but I don't think I would have felt safe staying here alone

The whole hotel was very unclean the shower was hanging off the wall and had mould around the grout work stains on the carpets and what looked like a iron mark on the floor staff didn’t seem to care breakfast wasn’t grate dripping in grease would not stay again or recommend this hotel
