Nantes Camping Le Petit Port

The location in Nantes was excellent, the city center can be reached by the tram that basically leaves from in front of the camping. The best is that with the camping wrist band you can access the city swimming pool across the street, which has a 25m pool and children area, which is great, we went there every day! The staff is super friendly!

The bungalows are actually really very small, there is very little space inside, if you have good weather no problem. The neighbours were also very close, could hear them very loudly. The most annoying thing was the constant smell of sewage water from under the house.

a long walk from reception to the cabin. Ok for healthy people in normal tempretures. In 40 degs for elderly people a bit of a problem . Other camp sites have golf type vehicles to assist clients. The swimming pool was too small for the size of the camp site and people should be made more aware that in France males (of any age) are not allowed to wear shorts in any public pool, they must wear boxers or speedos and this caused a problem for many people. There is a large municiple pool very close but it had very odd opening hours. The camp site 'shop' was little more than a cupboard in the bar with very little on offer.

Excellent location in centre of Nantes. Really welcoming site. Very friendly and professional staff. We were there during Bastille Day and they had lots going on with pony rides for the children. Pool on site is a lovely temperature and site is convenient to a large indoor complex just across the road which was great on really hot days. Basic comfortable cabin with shaded seating at the front. Our grandson had a wonderful time swimming, playing golf and using the swing. Lots of games available in the restaurant. Would definitely return but would book a cabin nearer the facilities.

We were there 13th - 16th July and temperatures were mid 30's or higher every day. Our 'comfort' cabin had no A/C or fans. I requested a fan but was told initially they didn't have any and when I said I had seen them on the cleaning trolleys I was told they were all reserved ( bring your own). Also the site has a lovely bar/restaurant but if you only want a drink you have to queue up with everyone who is ordering food. On a busy night I stood for over 30 minutes to get 2 beers and a coke. There is a wooden cocktail/ice cream hut that was mostly empty. Serving drinks here as well would solve this issue. If you are in the comfort cabin as we were it's a good 8-10 mins walk to facilities. Bikes would be ideal. Also be aware that although the indoor pool complex is free for campsite guests you still need to queue up with everyone else and this can take a while at busy times.

Very clean. 2 bathrooms in the chalet, private location and facilities clean. Staff very helpful and friendly, especially in reception. Ideal location for getting into the city, cheap public transport and mini golf/swimming on site good.

Food in restaurant was shocking on the day we arrived. The next day looked a totally different standard but we didn’t risk it again. Ran out of lager and no plastic glasses to be able to enjoy a soft drink around the pool.
