Excellent stay, a fantastic host and delicious breakfast with all fresh and home made food!

Breakfasts and fruit were fantastic and Karen made fresh bread each day and baking. There was beautiful fruit yoghurt each day, fresh fruit and local Manuka honey and home made jams. We were very spoilt. Karen was the perfect host and we would definately stay again. Location is superb!!

Beautiful fresh cut fruit and homemade yoghurt & freshly baked breads… WOW! Very generous portions (which allowed us to have treats later in the day!!) AND - eating up there was a pure joy with such awesome views!!🤩

Days of joy filled memories; ours to keep!

Our experience with Karen at Paradise On the Strand surpassed all expectations... and after seeing the photos and reading the reviews, our expectations were high! This was the pinnacle of excellent lodging experiences during our 7 weeks in New Zealand. Karen provided just the right amount of friendly genuine engagement, and privacy. A short walk through the bush each morning took us to Long Beach to watch the sun rise, coffee in hand (coffee cart on beach). Sunsets were spectacular! BREAKFASTS were presented each day with abundance, freshness, creativity and variety; always delicious! Home-made yoghurt, honey from Karen's son's hives, AND warm bread just out of the oven for an afternoon tea surprise! We WILL return!

the location cannot be beaten as the property is literally on the beach and also just a few minutes stroll form the restaurants and shops. The host, Karen, is also lovely and her breakfasts are delicious.

The location of "Paradise on the Strand" is outstanding. Lovely views from upstairs on the deck, and a short walk to everywhere that you needed to go. Karen's hospitality was excellent. The little touches like the delicious continental breakfast that she provided, as well as the freshly baked bread was also very thoughtful too.

Karen is a fantastic host. The apartment is in a perfect order and everything is thought out to the smallest detail. The balcony overlooking the gulf is just great. The sea is in 20 meters from the house inviting for a morning swim. For a nice sandy beach (Long Beach) you can drive for 5 minutes or walk. Breakfast is very nice with a tasty bread baked by Karen herself.

Most enjoyable and relaxing

The great view over the beach and moored boats from the balcony especially when having evening drinks and nibbles. Apartment was clean and well appointed. It is located close to the ferry wharf, cafes and sights of Russell. Our host was most hospitable and served yummy healthy breakfasts daily including baking fresh bread for us.

The spiral staircase was a bit of a challenge when entering and exiting with luggage. The shower was small and a bit dated.

WOW! Karen is your hostess and she offers you something really special when you stay at hers. And at a reasonable price. She is fabulous at what she does. I like to think that I have travelled widely - she would be one of the best. And that, to me, is what B&B is all about. It's the people. But - the accommodation is just as good. Overlooking the water - a quiet beer, or wine, or G&T - nice and quiet - all the essentials just within reach - what more could my fellow human being ask for?

Breakfast was really good - fresh homemade fruit salad, selection of cereals. Host made a delicious loaf of fresh bread for us on the 2nd day.
