Very Scenic, well kept, comfortable property, close to train st & owner is an awesome person

Property owner was excellent when it came to communication, helping and he even brought fruits for our family. These small little things do count and we are glad we stayed here. Excellent view, scenic, not too far from the train station. We loved our stay and there were a few drinks to welcome us (at no cost)

Perfect hideaway in Swiss Alps

Very cozy cabin, modern interiors with central heating, its in a very quiet place in Grindelwald, gives you just the right local vibes

It was relaxing and a beautiful outlook.

We liked everything, view, the cosy alpine style of the cabin and the little deck to sit outside and view the mountains. cleanliness of the cabin. Communication with the owners was great. Would certainly revisit and stay. Public transport was excellent.

Beautiful location with everything we needed

Beautiful location surrounded by mountains, it was stunning walking around the area. The chalet was lovely, great for letting my toddler wander around and play a bit. The facilities were simple but all that was needed, the bed was comfortable, we appreciated the ceiling fan on warm nights, the small kitchenette with a sink & fridge were handy (although I wish we could cook there!). Overall a lovely experience, I'd come back again happily (hopefully when the restaurant is operating again as I see it has great reviews but it was closed when we were there).

The only thing I didn't love about the chalet was how loud it was when the people upstairs were walking. Obviously because of the wooden structure it makes more noise, but it was very very loud. I came back to the chalet for my toddlers nap time and it was cut very short because she woke up from the noise of the cleaners being upstairs (and she normally sleeps like a brick). I understand this is difficult to do anything about.

Wonderful experience

It’s super comfort and chill! Much better than I thought. I’d like to recommend it to anyone who loves the countryside vibe and hiking. The owner is super friendly and helpful.

A scenic, comfortable and restful retreat in a lovely part of Switzerland.

The location was amazing, close enough to town for the amenities but away from the crowds. Views were spectacular from the room and front patio. Owners were very welcoming and helpful.

As it was the off season, the restaurant was closed but there were excellent choices nearby.

Stunning friendly cabins

Location is AMAZING! Easily reachable by car but isolated enough to enjoy the environment. The cabins are intimate, spacious and well kept. Having the restaurant right there is a huge plus. The breakfast was great and good to have different options every day. Also, great tgat they are dog-friendly.

We loved everything. We just found odd that there was no kitchenware and cutlery. It would be better to have a couple of plates, bowls, glasses, cups ans cutlery to be able to have snacks ad cold food. Also something to wash dishes.

Excellent. Exactly what we had hoped for.

This was such a dreamy little sanctuary nestled in the heart of the Swiss alps. We absolutely loved being away from the town center - I mean, what's the point of traveling such a distance to be in the mountains if you're not going to be in the beautiful green rolling hills, trees and wild flowers? I loved how homey and rustic our room was. It was so warm, inviting and cozy. The bed was comfortable and the room was unbelievably quiet, making for some of the best sleep I have ever had. There's just something so peaceful about sleeping in a wood cabin. Patrick was very responsive and accommodating but also left us to our privacy, which is the perfect balance one would want from a good host. On our drive there, we were so excited and I joked that the only sounds I wanted to hear were birds and cowbells in the distance. Well, that's exactly what we got. Honestly, we could not have been happier and would absolutely stay here again.

The slightly higher price is a bit of a deterrent to staying as many nights as we might like.

A memorable stay

We really enjoy staying there , nice view from the balcony. The owner is very nice and understandable.......you will not go wrong by choosing this place as your stay while visiting Grindelwald. The journey from hotel to Grindelwald center is about 30min by foot , it is a nice walk. If you dun want to want , there is a bus right in front of the hotel cum restaurant , every 1 hour. Brekafast is prepared and keep in a picnic basket , v unique experience for me. Room and surrounding environment are v clean.

Perhaps the hotel can provide a small kettle , easier for us to make tea or drink warm water though there is a coffee machine.

Great place for a peaceful retreat

First, a great location. Can overlook Grindelwald from a higher viewpoint. At the same time, just 10 mins from the main town by car. Surrounded by beautiful Grindelwald mountains. Giving a very Grindelwald-like experience. Second, cozy house and great facilities. A wooden house gives great comfort and coziness, but facilities are modernized. Third, amazingly kind host. He runs a restaurant in the first floor. I mistakenly bought a pork steak wrongly knowing that I could cook in the room. Knowing that I can’t cook, I wanted to give the pork steak to the host because I had to throw it away otherwise. However, he made wonderful pork steak dish for me and brought it to my room, which made my dinner perfect. Will definitely revisit this place when I revisit Grindelwald.

Fantastic chalet, restaurant and location

Recently renovated chalet was beautiful inside. The hosts were very very nice and accommodating. The on-site restaurant was great and so was the breakfast basket with multiple goodies. Location is right below the Eiger and a bit out of town in the countryside (1.5 miles). Perfect from my point of view. Great place to relax and enjoy the Swiss Alps.

Fabulous location and we’ll be back!

What a fabulous location! Such an amazing view of Grindlewald and the famous north face of the Eiger. Although the restaurant was only open on one of the nights we stayed the food was excellent. A splendid breakfast was provided which we were able to eat whilst enjoying the view! Travel into Grindlewald was possible via (Free) bus which stops right outside the restaurant.

It would have been lovely if the restaurant was open on the other night we stayed but appreciate it has to have a day or two off.

Exceptional

We stayed for 2 nights in the Gasthaus and what an absolutely incredible place to stay. A very warm welcome & a beautiful building that was superbly decorated. Set on the hillside it provided excellent views across Grindlewald. We stayed in the height of summer and it was great to sit outside & eat the delicious breakfast hamper that was left each day. We imagine that it would be a great place to go in the winter aswell, lovely and cosy.

Beautiful place in the mountains

The room was very beautiful and also the views from there. The breakfast was made whit a lot of love. We recived it in one basket the evening before. There is a fridge in the room. Everything was very clean. The bed was super comfortable. The food is very good.

Despite I send them one message 5 days before my arrival asking for gluten free breakfast they never read it, so they were not ready for it. But anyway they resolved the situation quite good. The place it's a bit too far from the city and the buses stop driving in the evening really early, be careful! Better if you have a car.

I missed contact When I arrived to property nobody help me more in same time to find the key and room number as an e.mail I slept one night in my car. because nobody came to help me how to get a key. next day after contacting the owner and send him many texts and I planned to change property He called me.
