A micro thing - the tea/coffee cups in the room were very small. I went and bought a mug.

Basic hotel, right in the middle of Grindelwald

The staff in the breakfast room remembered our coffee/tea preferences after the first day. The room was exceedingly quiet.

It is a basic hotel, with limited amenities. The parking area is tight so don't plan on driving a larger vehicle, you'll probably park down the street in a paid lot. The breakfast starts at 0730 so hard to get to the ski slopes right away. They offer a take away, but not the same.

The location was superb. We also had parking available ale for our car. Restaurants options are many around as we are located right next to (2 minutes walk) from central station. Also had laundry facilities with $20 for a big bag full of clothes. It was perfect for the family of four (with bunk bed for our two kids which they enjoyed as well)

Probably would not recommend due to noise on street which prevented us from sleeping both nights.

Perfect Swiss Holiday Experience!

Our second time staying at this beautiful accomodation! Christoph and team were so helpful and always asking if we were okay and our plans day to day. THANK YOU for the lil surprise for my daughter's 20th birthday! So amazed he remembered and put in his time and effort to turn our room into a welcoming surprise! Enjoyed the breakfast and everything else!

Amazingly beautiful stay

The staff were exceptional. Cristopher gave us some amazing ideas and insights for sightseeing. He was super kind and sweet. Very accommodative. The breakfast staff were also really kind and helpful. The view was beyond words.

Good for the price

The staff was so welcoming and kind. We forgot to inform them we were leaving quite early for Jungfraujoch and she was very apologetic and even gave us food even if she didn't have to. Location is very good, a short walk to the train station and the bus stop. The patio at the back with an old swing set was perfect for a simple lunch with a view.

We stayed 6 nights so the same food choices at breakfast got quite boring.

Bathroom - large tub to climb over to get in shower, not a big deal, just awkward for people with short legs.

GRINDELWALD AT IT'S BEST

We occupied the Family Room . It was good with a very big terrace and a wonderful view.The location of the property is excellent and right on the main road and in proximity to the shopping area and the restaurants. The staff was very courteous and helpful , specially Rinatta during the breakfast time.

The breakfast could have been better . The room could have been better maintained specially the Wooden cupboards . Few of the bathroom fittings were rusted which could be replaced.

Everyone was very friendly, the room was clean and quiet, and the view from the patio was spectacular! It’s right downtown so an easy walk to the train station, restaurants, and shopping.

If you are taller than 6’ you might find these rooms and door frames a little short.

Suited us perfectly for a few days in Grindlewald. Would stay again

Location was excellent, a short walk from Grindelwald station and close to attractions & shops. Breakfast was good - tea, coffee & juice available, lovely fresh bread & pastries and some fruit, cereals & meats. Room was comfortable & clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We were able to check in early (at midday) as our room was already ready

The decor & bathroom was a little dated, but we didn’t expect luxury. The kettle didn’t work. No cups/mugs/tea/coffee in the room despite there being a kettle. Room price felt a little expensive for what you got, though it was one of the cheaper options we found in the area - I think it is just everything in Switzerland seems expensive!

The room is located at the next building which required climbing the metal stairs. view from room is great. we are able to see the mountain view. Hotel owner is very kind to help us with carrying the luggage to our room. Breakfast is great and nice!

Very central and helpful owner

The hotel is in the centre of Grindelwald and our room had great views of the Eiger and surrounding mountains. Breakfast was good ( there is no restaurant, but plenty within walking distance}.

Grindelwald itself is busy, including with tour groups. The hotel parking is limited and quite tricky.

Comfortable Swiss-chalet hotel in the centre of Grindelwald

Excellent location right in the centre of Grindelwald. Friendly and helpful staff. We arrived in 2 cars and were able to park right in front of the hotel which was great for peace of mind. However, there aren’t many spaces so if the hotel is busy then this might not be possible. Nice breakfast too. The Swiss chalet building has lots of character. It was clean and comfortable.

Felt a little bit old/dated, but this isn’t a problem and actually gave the hotel character :)

I had a wonderful stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was extremely convenient. Breakfast was excellent, and all of the staff were friendly and attentive. A special thank-you to Christoph at reception, who kindly carried my luggage up to the second floor at check-in and back down at checkout—especially appreciated since there’s no elevator. Highly recommended!

However, the bathroom shower needs some improvement. You have to stand inside the bathtub to shower, and the drainage is quite slow—water pools throughout the entire shower, leaving your feet submerged in used water. It would be much better if the hotel could either replace the bathtub with a walk-in shower or upgrade the drainage system for faster water removal.

A gem of a place to stay.

The hotel is in a very convenient location, an easy walk from the train. It also very easy to access the busses, First station etc... Room was very comfortable with a great view of the mountains. It was very enjoyable on the balcony in the evening watching the sun go down. The staff were friendly and could not do more to help you enjoy your stay! Breakfast was delicious! Hope to visit again soon!
