Was very disappointing

The location was perfect

I did not like the fact this property did not have a bathroom just 2 tiny showers it’s not made clear in all the photos that this did not come with any of the bathrooms shown! also the pictures need updating as the sofa was completely different from the pictures

Grubby & worn out

Really tired looking & grubby. Huge cobwebs. Bottle tops on the floor, chunks of flooring missing, doors been kicked in, tv stand with massive hole in it, remote with no backing

Great location. Central on barbican Staff are friendly upon check in.

Apartment was not clean upon check in. Cigarette from previous guests left on bedroom floor. Flooring was sticky. Dishes left in the dishwasher. Bedding had black marks on sheets. Charged additional £10 to check in early which is understandable but late check out is £15 hour extra. I would not recommend the apartment for families- there are indecent paintings of women's body parts displayed around the apartment, thankfully we saw the funny side but wouldn't recommend it to families. Great location for central barbican but is noisy at night from outside and upstairs guests.

Starting from beautiful living room ending up in balcony with beautiful view and quietness around( at least Monday to Tuesday night) ! Only I was in work commendation and didn’t enjoy properly town and around but will return for private stay!!! Recommended!

There was an issue with the heating but the staff were incredibly helpful and got it sorted . Not the property’s fault but the downstairs guests one night were incredibly rowdy until the early hours- sounded like a house party . Extra towels would have been a helpful touch . It wasn’t an issue for us, but the property had a lot of stairs to get to the penthouse which might be a challenge for some

The flat was lovely and spacious for the three of us. I loved looking out the window to the harbour and old street.

It was very local to the Barbican and I loved the history.

Unfortunately, there is a loading bay outside my bedroom window I was woken up at 6:30am with vans running their engines. It’s a beautiful old narrow street, but lots of restaurants around having deliveries in the mornings. The bright side is it got me up and out in the mornings for an early start!🤗

Excellent location. Makes a very good base to see Plymouth and the Barbican. Spacious clean flat. Wonderful bathroom, lovely bath and really good shower.

The top floor flat was having a party all Sunday night. People running around right up to and after 5am!

Lovely little apartment in the heart of the bustling Barbican but also quiet and cozy. Bed was comfortable and there was a really useful desk and even a fridge!

It didn't have a window to look out.

Convenient and stylish but far from luxury!

Great location, well designed, stylish bathroom with excellent shower.

Windows were open and heating wasn’t on when we arrived so the apartment was cold (mid October). The mattress was uncomfortable and creaky. Windows difficult to close fully so it was noisy and the blinds in the bedroom didn’t block out the bright outside lights so we didn’t sleep well.

Had an enjoyable 2 day visit and the apartment was a great choice in a wonderful waterside location.

The location is excellent, in the heart of the Barbican. There is a nearby car park on Lambhay Hill which is £14:50 a day. The host owns the fish bar underneath the flats, you show your ID and booking to the staff there and get the keys. Simples. Apartment is roomy, 2 en-suite bedrooms, and a large roof terrace with excellent views across the harbour. Definitely stay here again.

The towels provided were thin and like tea towels so maybe bring your own? There are numerous flights of stairs to reach the Penthouse so if your mobility is a problem this particular apartment is a no go.

Good location Quiet room at the back of the building.

Apartment smelt strongly of cigarette smoke, but was stated as a ‘non-smoking’ apartment which was very disappointing. Description on booking.com said it had an extra-large double bed, which it did not. Decor needs updating and better cleaning required.

Human excrement on the bathroom wall, apartment absolutely filthy, sofa with bird poo on it, the place looks like it’s been used as a party pad due to its central location and the owners haven’t kept up to keeping it clean, all the walls dirty, mucky marks all over it, the outside seating area covered in bird poo that’s obviously not fresh and been there some time, all windows filthy, absolutely not a luxury boutique penthouse

Overall although a few hiccups it was a birthday treat and we would stay again.

The location is perfect. The venue is such a good value for money as we have previously stayed with friends and family. Easy access to the property.

The air conditioning wasn’t working. The bathroom was not as clean as previous visits. I had to remove hair from the shower plug, The shower tray wasn’t clean and the bathroom floor didn’t appear to have been swept. Also when using the shower there seemed to be a leak from the tray out on to the floor.

No ventilation, no sleep, no help

Mostly clean but the shower leaked onto the bathroom floor and the foam pillows were cheap and uncomfortable. The only good thing was a relatively comfortable mattress.

Stayed in room 4. When we arrived the room was a stifling 25C so we tried unsuccessfully to start the air conditioning. After a while I went to check-in to ask for help, as the room has no opening windows or ventilation. After around 15 mins they came to the room to say the air-conditioning wasn't working. We were told to use the fans but all they did was push hot air around the room. Hardly slept due to the heat so will be pursuing a refund. If your air conditioning doesn't work in this heat in a sealed room, get it fixed and don't just keep letting it out! It would have been cooler sleeping on the Barbican.

Apartment 2 was really nice, the location was great and the apartment was really spacious. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable during our stay. Collecting the key from the chippy below was really easy.

There were a lot of minor repairs needed in the apartment that were a bit annoying but didn’t spoil our stay.

The location. Easy access. The bed was super comfy. Room clean.

Looked like a posh prison cell. Cheap poor quality bedding. Damaged lampshade and only had one on one side of the bed. Poor SMALL towels. Thin and aged. No mattress protector. Dull... dreary decor. Grey and white! Only a skylight no other windows and no blind on skylight directly above bed. As soon as it was daylight we were awake! Minimal tea coffee milk ec provided. No Instructions for air con.

Disappointing.

The apartment was spacious and the decor was pleasant.

The quality of the fixtures and fittings was poor in both apartment and bedroom (eg toilet roll holder hanging off wall). Our bedroom was a long way from the apartment rooms even though we booked together as a family and was extremely basic. There was no window. Facilities did not live up to expectation. Apartment windows could not be closed to sound proof the rooms from the noise of the Barbican, which is not adequate for such a noisy location.

Just an okay place nothing wow at all

Location was fantastic and we managed to get a booking at a local restaurant right outside the property which was extremely handy.

The apartment looked fantastic on the photos but when we arrived it was quite dirty and unclean, the fan didn’t work that was in the lounge, the showers were filthy and water just goes everywhere. Pillows were so uncomfortable and was kept up all night by seagulls on the roof top and balcony which was a massive downside, wasn’t quite the penthouse experience we were hoping for although a good price for a last minute stay. Didn’t see any staff at all as had to pick keys up from the fish shop on the bottom floor.

The location was ideal as in the centre of the Barbican. The accommodation was lovely! So big and ideal for us. We really enjoyed our stay here.

It’s quite noisy in the front bedroom on a weekend night but we liked being amongst the atmosphere so we didn’t mind at all but for children this may be a problem.
