An idyllic home away from home

The apartment was just lovely with everything we needed. We were greeted by Caitlin who made sure we would have everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable, the shower excellent, and a small but very well equipped modern kitchen where we could cook meals. The location was idyllic looking out over the water towards Portree. We highly recommend the Scorr House apartment for couples or people travelling solo.

Stunning, well-equipped apartment with amazing views to the sea. Bed is really comfortable, the bathroom is huge, super clean and beautiful. The kitchen is perfect for a short stay with all necessary tools. We are really enjoyed our time in here.

This little apartment is great. View from the porch right across a small bay into Portree. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom was great. Small kitchen was everything we needed and the host even left us a wee bit of whiskey to welcome us!

Excellent facilities in the apartment, spotlessly clean, brilliant shower and had well thought of added extras. Peaceful and private location with an excellent view across the bay to Portree with views of the Old Man of Storr in the distance.

The home and kitchen were well equipped. We even managed to do our washing as they had a washer cum dryer which was very useful. The view of the sea was wonderful and it was conveniently close to Portree.

They did warn us of the pot holes on the road leading to the house but nothing to worry if you drive slowly. The beautiful view and house at the end of the road makes up for it. They had a extra long shower tray with a fantastic overhead shower head spray which was wonderful but maybe it also needs a non slip mat.

A beautifully designed and constructed apartment in a spectacular setting.

The apartment was incredibly well considered and appointed. All of the little things were included: welcoming treats, high quality fixtures, a large bathroom sink and walk-in shower, washer/drying and hang-drying racks, and a spectacular lake and mountain view from the front of the unit. A binder included suggested sites to visit, restaurants, and other useful information. We got a bit lost finding the apartment. We called Caitlan and she immediately drove to our location and guided us to the nearby apartment. Every question was promptly and thoroughly answered.

Parts of the island do not have wi-fi service, which can be disconcerting when relying on gps, nav/sat to get around. Having a map and/or satellite phone is helpful. There are lots of potholes on some, but not all, roads. Drivers are advised to be mindful of these.

I had a minor medical issue (sprained ankle hiking Old Man of Storr) during my stay. Caitlin, who is also a nurse!, helped me to get the medical care I needed.

The clothes washer (a VERY nice and welcomed amenity) takes a very long time to dry clothes.

Comfortable serene stay just outside Portree

The location was fantastic with beautiful views back to Portree and over the sea. It was so quite and relaxing. Everything inside the accommodation wa was top quality. The little extras like fudge and whiskey were so nice. The shower was outstanding. Lots of room and hot.

Relaxing!!!

everything! Beautiful location, relaxing, and well equipped! Exceptionally clean! A very short drive to Portree for shopping. Watching the tides come and receded was soothing. It was wonderful to see the sheep, and numerous types of birds! The unit is on the ground level of the host’s home so it would have been very easy to get assistance if it was needed. The hosts were kind and considerate! If ever we return to the Isle of Skye we would be happy to stay there again!

Best accommodations in Skye

The apartment was fabulous! Caitlin and Adam thought of everything, including a washing/drying machine! I was THRILLED to have that. The entire apartment is so comfortable, including the bed. The bathroom is great! It even includes a mirror that doesn’t fog when showering! So many modern amenities, including USB outlets on each side of the bed. We were able to make all our own meals and even had a dishwasher so no dishwashing necessary. The laundry space also offers a place to hang clothes and to store suitcases. It’s decorated so nicely and has a great comfy cozy feel. The view is spectacular! Great view of Old Man Scorr. Caitlin and Adam are extremely accommodating. Caitlin provided detailed directions prior to our arrival that were very helpful. We were greeted with a personalized post card welcoming us, together with a “wee bit of dram,” some Scottish tablets (fudge) and biscuits. Being caffeine sensitive, I was also impressed with a good selection of decaf tea! I can’t say enough about Scorr House. You will not be disappointed. Sincerely Carla and Don

An excellent apartment in a stunning setting.

We arrived on Skye in the pouring rain and were very pleased we could gain access to the apartment a little earlier than planned. The apartment has everything needed for a relaxing stay, clean, warm, comfortable and well equipped. A great bathroom. The location is stunning we enjoyed watching the wildlife on the loch.

Beautiful, clean self contained apartment. Lovely outlook over the water to Portree. Very comfortable bed and wonderful shower with plenty of hot water. This has been our favourite stopover on our trip. Thank you Caitlin for making us feel so welcome and also for the 'wee dram'.
