The location was awesome! Loved the view. We had all we needed in the kitchen to cook up a storm. Loved the shortcut to the scorrybreac trail. Thank you so much!

The location is great! You're at the top of the hill in Portree, so it's a steep but short walk to town. I saw elderly ladies doing it, so you can also! There plenty of parking and the convenience store is right at the bottom of the hill. The view is the best part. You look out onto Skye Bay and at the Isle of Raasay. It is truly amazing. There's a nice deck and a picnic table to have your coffee or afternoon scotch. There are 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms (three with a shower.) The one in the upstairs master bedroom is open and could use a curtain or something- a little strange. Everything is clean and functional. We forgot a bag there and the person checking on the property called me about it. She met us halfway to return the bag which was SUPER NICE! Great service there. Plenty of towels. I would definitely come back.
The upstairs bedrooms had nice beds but the ones downstairs had cheap metal frames that you could hear squeak if you so much as lifted your head. They need to be upgraded. Kitchen facilities are good but there are limited cooking supplies- oil and vinegar. They give you some instant coffee or you need to go out and buy ground coffee for the French press. In this day and age, a pod coffeemaker would be expected at these prices.

We stayed as a family, 6 adults and 2 Children. Overall, the house was fine for our stay. It is a lovely big space with lots of room to gather and sit together, only a few minutes walk from Portree. A few nice touches like wood for the fire and Arran toiletries,
There are many things that could be improved to make this feel like a luxury stay to match the luxury price point. The beds all need updating, some of the mattresses are passable but others you can feel the springs and are incredibly uncomfortable. The bed frames themselves are so loud, if you move a muscle the sounds are terrible. The sofa is dated and is difficult to get out of, we were travelling with an 87 year old who couldn't sit on the sofa without someone lifting her out of it. There is a serious lack of storage, we stayed for 3 nights but had to live out of our suitcases, only one room had a wardrobe with a few hangers but two other rooms didn't have a single place to store clothes despite the amount of space in the room itself, this seems like a real basic requirement that's totally missed here. The kitchen also doesn't have an empty cupboard space to store dry foods. for 3 days wasn't much of an issue, we kept everything on the worktop but not great. The driveway and garden is overlooked and overgrown, it really lets the property down. The door is difficult to lock, we spent sometimes over 5 minutes trying to lock it properly.
