Wonderful - would stay again

The entire place was great - excellent location within walking distance of anywhere we wanted in Portree. Clean and comfortable rooms, beautiful view.

Parking at the harbor was sometimes difficult - but once the car was parked, walking anywhere in Portree was easy.

Every place we stayed in Scotland was nice, but this was our favorite!

The apartment is gorgeous! We loved the comfortable furniture, the huge windows with great views of the port, the wood-burning stove, the full kitchen, the three baths, the warm welcome on the blackboard wall, the basket of treats and wine, everything! The location was perfect, right next to great restaurants and a charity shop where I found a cool little antique.

As in every other Scottish hotel/apartment where we stayed, the only covering on the bed was a thick duvet. That meant that some of us woke up much too hot in the middle of the night. We would throw off the duvet, but then feel too cold. It made it hard for the warm-blooded among us to get a good night's sleep. Next time I'm in Scotland, I will bring my own top sheet!

Adorable place in a great location. Just do it!

We loved our stay! The location couldn’t be better — beautiful views of the water and walkable to shops and restaurants. The space is decorated so thoughtfully and charmingly. It felt warm and inviting from the moment we walked in. The living area was a great place to hang out. Had a warm fire each night while we played cards and peered out to the harbor. The instructions for everything were clear and simple. The owners left milk and orange juice, a basket of tea and other little snacks, as well, which was a wonderful surprise!

The only downside was that the showers were a bit small, but overall it was a wonderful place to stay and we’d happily return.

Everything! It is a beautiful property in a stunning location. The flat is very nicely decorated, with excellent amenities and the host made us feel very welcome. To top it off, it’s two doors down from a superb fish restaurant.

De locatie en het uitzicht. Lekkere bedden en een grote keuken. Fijn contact met de verhuurder. Hielp ons goed met toen ik zei dat ik het wat koud vond beneden.

Dat het in de woonkamer een beetje koud was ( maar na contact: heater geplaatst!) Verlichting mochg iets meer cosy

Gezellig, ruim en sfeervol appartement op een toplocatie met goede faciliteiten, maar prijzig.

Mooi, gezellig en zeer sfeervol ingericht appartement, perfect gelegen in het centrum aan de gezellige haven van Portree - met diverse restaurantjes letterlijk direct op paar meter afstand. Ondanks de centrale ligging is het ’s avonds en ’s nachts muisstil, wat natuurlijk heel prettig is. Het uitzicht op de haven is werkelijk prachtig. Het appartement is ruim opgezet, al zijn de kamers zelf niet bijzonder groot. De slaapkamers hebben comfortabele bedden en de grote bank in de woonkamer zit heerlijk. Ook fijn: de muziekinstallatie is eenvoudig met je stem te bedienen via Alexa.

Hoewel er zichtbaar veel zorg is besteed aan de inrichting van het appartement, merk je op verschillende punten dat de afwerking niet van echt topniveau is. Binnen was het wat aan de donkere kant, en de ramen kunnen maar beperkt open. Daardoor voelde het soms wat klam aan, en op momenten hing er een wat muffe geur in het huisje. Het bad in de badkamer ziet er sfeervol uit, maar is minder praktisch om in te douchen. Voor het in- en uitladen kun je de auto gelukkig tijdelijk pal voor de deur zetten. Houd er wel rekening mee dat het aantal parkeerplekken direct nabij het appartement zeer beperkt is. In de praktijk parkeer je dus vaak op een betaald long-stay terrein, op ongeveer vijf minuten lopen. Vanwege het beperkte aanbod op Skye - en in Portree in het bijzonder - betaalden wij tijdens het hoogseizoen in juli meer dan 1,600 Euro voor twee nachten. We wisten vooraf dat dit een flink bedrag was, en de locatie is dan ook uitstekend (waar je duidelijk voor betaalt). Toch klopt de prijs-kwaliteitverhouding onder de streep niet helemaal.
