Our short stay in Air an Oir was a wonderful and memorable experience and one that we hope to repeat

Air an Oir provided the best self catering accommodation that we have ever stayed in. Everything about the property was of an exceptional standard. Angela the host visited on arrival to welcome us, explain how everything worked and provide tips about the local area. The property is very well equipped with everything anyone could possibly need including some generous and unexpected treats provided by the hosts. The bed is comfortable, the rooms are spacious and stylishly decorated, the views are spectacular and the Wi-Fi is fast and stable. Just sitting enjoying the views from the huge windows and observing the local wildlife was a memorable experience in itself. The property also has a wonderful location. While being close to the main road it still feels peaceful and isolated and yet is within easy walking distance of Portree centre and has an excellent Pizza restaurant just five minutes walk away. All in all Air an Oir is the perfect place for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in Portree.

A cozy and peaceful stay on the Isle of Skye.

The owner was amazing! She welcomed us and explained about the property and appliances. She even gave us tips about hikes and things to do in the area.

Without doubt, the best accommodation we have ever stayed in.

Everything! We were lucky enough to have sun for the whole time we were there. The property is exceptional! Angela and Neil really have thought of everything. The views from the lounge space, bathroom (including the view from the bath!) and bedroom are outstanding. The walk in shower is lovely too. The bed is so comfortable, with high quality bedding and gorgeously thick, soft towels. The log burner was a lovely added bonus which we used. A thoughtful welcome pack on arrival, including a bottle of fizz as we’d mentioned it was my husband’s birthday while we were there. Tea and coffee, milk and some lovely teacakes - they really have thought of everything. A nightly visit from pine martens just topped off the stay. Angela provided eggs and nuts to put out every day and we saw lots of lovely feathered visitors too..and Sam, the cheeky cat! The most amazing stay, from start to finish. We will be back.

An unforgettable week in a stunning location.

Air an Oir is an exceptional property run by a wonderful couple who genuinely care about making sure their guests have a great stay. This house on the edge of the sea is aesthetically stunning in its exterior design and interior decor. It’s a calm, welcoming place with amazing, ever changing views. It feels very private and secluded yet is within easy walking distance of the shops, cafes and restaurants of Portree. It was lovely to discover there was a lit log stove and foodie treats to welcome our arrival. The cherry on top of the cake…the nightly visits from a pine marten!

We liked the pine martens, the little bottle of gin, the fluffy towels, the coffee, the oat cakes, the cheese, the tea cakes, the lovely soap, the wood for the stove, the friendly welcome - all included. Fabulous!

Unforgetable amazing experience!

What a place! The amazing views in - and outdoor. The Pine Martens, birds, sound of the wildlife, elements of nature. The cosynes of the sofa or chair, just sitting and relaxing while enjoying all of this. Waking up in the morning with the nicest view and you dont have to leave your bed for it and all of that in pure luxury. I doubt we will find a better, nicer place then this. Also the host tryes to make your stay as comfortable as it gets. We missed our flight, so had to rebook and arrived in the middle of the night. She made suggestions, tips to arrive as safely as possible and delivered extra food upon arrival.

There really aren’t sufficient superlatives to use in a review of Air an Oir. It is perfect, divine and superb... and has its own visiting Pine Martin! I can’t imagine it has many days free, so if you spot them, my advice is to book.

The best place we have ever stayed!

From the service before we even arrived to the super quality of the property, the views, the facilities, everything was perfect. There were lovely touches throughout the property, fresh Salmon in the fridge a little G and T and fresh flowers. Even got the weather supplied for us! Saw a Sea Eagle from the window 10 minutes after arriving and then had some evening visits from a Pine Marten... Angela went above and beyond to make our stay one to remember.. A must stay for anyone visiting Skye.
