Superb location! Everything was walkable. Restaurants were literally downstairs from the unit. The host was very helpful and even arranged a ride during my arrival.

Great location, nice sized apartment, could do with a bit of an update.

Great location and the local agent was really helpful in meeting us. She was also quick to help when we had a problem with getting hot water, she was great. Apartment was just the right size and in a good spot. However, see some of the issues below - all minor, but worth bearing in mind for the price.

The apartment is a little jaded i.e. furniture a bit rough around the edges and there could have been more kitchen bits i.e. cups and plates for the right number of people staying. The hot water was a simple misunderstanding which was quickly resolved (it had been turned off at the mains before we arrived) so that was fine. The bathroom clothes drying rack was falling apart and the toilet seat kept slipping off. We didn't say or do anything as it felt like it was pretty standard with some parts being a little worn and jaded, but we didn't appreciate trying to be charged €200 for a new toilet seat after we checked out! I think these properties can have a good local agent, but are run as very busy rentals so profit is key for them here. It was an expensive stay but as it was a last minute booking to visit friends, we didn't have too much choice and the property pretty much met our expectations.

Super cute apartment in a great location

We loved everything about this place! It was a bit on the pricier side for our budget, but honestly so worth it. Just a 10-minute walk from the station, which made it easy to get there with a backpack and small suitcase. The location couldn’t be better, right in the middle of all the views, restaurants, and cafés, with ferries only 5–6 minutes away. The apartment itself was great too. We ended up spending extra time inside because of the rain, but it was cozy and comfortable, so we didn’t mind at all. The washing machine was also a huge plus, perfect for refreshing our clothes midway through the trip. Elise was also super helpful with her restaurant recommendations!! All in all, I would definitely recommend and come back!

Such an attentive host, spotless apartment, excellent location and a very fair price. Highly recommend!

I honestly liked everything! Even though there’s no air conditioning in the bedroom, the one in the living room is enough to cool the whole apartment. There’s a bit of noise at night because of the central location near the bars, but nothing disturbing.

Great location, spacious and updated apartment!

Elise was so helpful and responsive to our questions and met us at the apartment when we arrived and gave us information about the local area. The location was perfect! The A/C works great, which is so important because it was SO HOT outside! The apartment was spacious, updated, and clean and comfortable. Be prepared to walk up several flights of stairs!

Perfect location for a week in Varenna!

This Varenna apartment is just steps above the lake, restaurants and shops. It was the perfect location for our five nights of exploring the neighboring lakeside towns. Elisa was so kind to meet us earlier than check in time as our train arrived early. She kept in contact throughout the week checking if we needed anything.

The only thing I was disappointed with was the bed. Every spring could be felt through the mattress as we tried to sleep. It became very uncomfortable. After two nights I finally put the extra blanket underneath the bottom sheet to provide some cushion, which did help.

Location was perfect

We didn’t get the identification forms because we were traveling, so we had a slight delay getting into the lock box. The cleaners accidentally disconnected the wifi modem. Not the fault of the owner.

A Wonderful place to stay in Lake Como! Definitely would return!

From the moment I booked the communication was stellar. Our host was fabulous-she met us at the apartment, explained how to get in, went over the city map, gave us dinner recommendations and kept in contact with us during our stay in-case we needed anything. Location was also perfect!

Clean and comfortable

Varenna is stunning! The location of the apartment was good, being walking distance from the train and most sights. But Varenna is small and most everything is walking distance. Fantastic restaurant (Alma) at the bottom of the stairs on the water.

Be prepared for the stairs...4 flights once you get to the front door, and many more before that. The apartment was small for two couples, with one couple on the sofa bed. But for only two nights it was fine. This was very expensive for what you get and compared to everywhere else in Europe that we have been. But I guess that is Lake Como 😓

Terrible sleep. Central location.

The beds were terrible. The master bed was so short my ankles were on the wood so I had to sleep in the pullout couch which creaked and sagged in the middle. It was extremely uncomfortable and the traffic noise was bad. Also the AC made a loud noise all through the night. I slept about 3 hours a night.

Great stay, would recommend!

Perfect location, easy access with great communication from the host. Space was clean and had a washing machine which was handy. Bed was comfortable.

Sofa was a fold out bed, we used it just as a sofa not a bed but it was quite uncomfortable to sit on. We thought maybe it wasn't folded back in properly but I think it was just uncomfortable! Wasn't too much of an issue given we weren't at the accommodation much but you wouldn't want to be trying to relax on the sofa here!

The location is close to everything we wanted to do in Varenna.

The bedding is less than nice. Bed and pillows uncomfortable. The closet was full of stuff. We put things together and put them away so we could have room for our things. The sofa cushions would slide off, they didn't sit flat. Very uncomfortable. Wine glasses were dirty, we washed them. Hair dryer and iron both require an adapter (bring your own, they didn't have one). There were a few dust bunnies mixed with hair on the floor. The place has a musty smell, it may come from the washer. And last, they didn't have any privacy curtains, the only private place to change is the bathroom. We got no response from our host.

fantastic spot - so close the edge of the lake and restaurants. Basic but clean and comfortable. Air conditioning in the living room a real bonus and ceiling fan in bedroom also welcome.

Great for a couple of nights to pretend you’re a local in a beautiful lakeside village.

We really enjoyed the location right in the old center with easy access to shops and restaurants. We also liked that our host let us check in an hour early.

It was a bit noisy from other tourists in the hallway and from the street, but we were expecting that from reading other reviews. We just saw it as no big deal (but we also brought ear plugs).

Excellent location in Varenna!

Excellent location in Varenna. Close to the water, restaurants and the center of town. A/C worked well. Apartment was a nice size with plenty of room for two people and a couple of kids (fold out couch). Refrigerator/freezer, microwave, stove/oven and washing machine (didn't use). Basic utensils/dinnerware/glassware. Host was very responsive and helpful.

The apartment is up 31 stairs with no elevator, difficult if traveling with large suitcases or weak knees. Sofa was very uncomfortable to sit on but we weren't there to stay in the apartment all day. No information provided in the apartment on the area, restaurant recommendations, etc. Right on main street so get some car noise when windows are open, although traffic is fairly light.

Fabulous stay

Navena and her guest house are amazing ! She met us at the main square, gave up many recommendations for places to eat and things to do in the area. She was easily contactable. The apartment was warm and in a great location! Everything. You need for a great stay on lake Como. Would stay here again!

Perfect short stay in Varenna

Beautiful apartment in a great location, less than 1 min walk down the steps to the Lake front and restaurants or up a few steps to the main Piazza! Good communications with the host prior to arrival providing clear instructions on accessing the property. Good WiFi in the apartment and kitchen has everything you need. Enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come again.

Smart TV would be a nice addition for quiet evenings in.

Great location to explore Varenna

The location is great. Just a few steps from the lake and the promenade. The apartment is nice and well equipped with a big living area (TV, DVD player,..) and kitchen. The bathroom is small and functional, same is the bedroom. Communication with the host was super easy, quick and helpful. A big plus!

The apartment is a bit clairaudient. You hear the main street even with closed windows as well as the neighbors, especially in the hallway. I used ear plugs so that was fine. There were water bottles in the fridge for sale. For the prize of the apartment I would have appreciated if at least one had been for free.

Great location to visit Varenna, Bellagio and Menaggio.

Good location in the middle of Varenna, public parking 5min away. The hosts is very lovely and helpful, she informed us about good restaurants and sightseeing options. Very easy and flexible check-in and check-out. The ferry and boat harbour is 5-7min walking distance to visit Bellagio, Menaggio and other destinations.

Highly recommended

The property was very comfortable and the location was perfect, being a one minute walk to the center and also to the lake. The property had an Air Conditioner, which was a must in summer - though we read that this wasn’t a common thing in Varenna (in fact our friends staying in hotels suffered with use of just a ceiling fan). The owner of the property was incredibly helpful and was quickly to respond and assist us with anything and everything we needed, which gave us peace of mind and added to the overall great experience. Though the property didn’t have a view, we spent most of our time out of the apartment at cafes, restaurants or just out for a stroll where we could enjoy the view. We really only were in the apartment to sleep, which is standard whilst on holiday. Honestly couldn’t recommend this place enough, everything from the initial booking to check out was easy, efficient and enjoyable.

Good place in Varenna

Location was perfect. Everything you need is present in the house. Kind owner who provides a lot of tips and suggestions.

According to the photos and facilities mentioned on booking we were quite disappointed that there was no pool. We could use a public pool for 20 euros a day. So that actually that means there is no pool at all at the house.
