2 bedroom apartment in the heart of the old town

The property was great. Very central and everything in the centre is walkable by foot. The property had a lovely terrace which was perfect for breakfast coffee! We were lucky with the weather too. It was perfect but see below on the temperature in the apartment. Great food places around and music in the square by a brass band was a treat! Train station very near to property too - about a 15 or 20 min walk. So easy to commute to other locations - we went to Dunkirk and Ghent for a day each.

It would have been helpful to have mirrors in the bedrooms- there was only one in the bathroom. The apartment did get very warm. There were two fans but they made little difference. It’s on the third floor. And no lift. This made it difficult with heavy suitcases. Bathroom door didn’t lock. We were in Lille for a week. Really not much to do there for more than a day or so. Our teenage daughter got bored. So we went to Dunkirk and Gent by train. They were great visits. We really had to look for stuff to do to fill our days in Lille beyond shopping.

The beds are comfortable, the balcony perfect when it was warm and sunny. Great to have the good kitchen and sitting room and the shower was good. It is a lovely apartment to stay in.

There was a drains aroma which was strong when we first arrived, improved after we ran the water etc and ebbed and flowed during our stay. It is on the top floor so very steep winding stair case which is fine as knew about it before we went but certainly made you think twice before nipping back for something! One of the towels and a blanket had really dirty marks on them. All others were absolutely fine. We didn’t know it was a bank holiday in France when we booked, the first 2 nights it was noisy through the night with people walking past through the night, the next 2 nights we weren’t disturbed. If you arrive on the Eurostar be aware it is the other side of the old town - which is all cobbles so towing a suitcase all the way is a bumpy noisy journey!!

Location was good and the roof terrace, although under construction was usable

Not enough bowls, plates, mugs etc- only 2 provided and we are a family of 3! Lamp shade in bedroom broken, washing machine leaked and the oven and some pans were dirty
