Clean and nicely furnished and it was quiet
The breakfast was great but coffee was instant which was out of keeping either the standard of the rest of the food . No evening food on Monday and Tuesdays and not really near anywhere else to eat out

Beautiful decor; the room we stayed in was comfortable with a beautiful bathroom. The breakfast was lovely and the staff were professional and friendly.
Just that the property is situated a distance from local amenities. We are certainly not complaining though!

The Hotel is a lovely old building, well decorated and bedrooms are lovely and bathrooms excellent.
Unfortunately I would say the hotel is primarily a wedding venue and not set up for guests Mon - Thursday. 2 main issues nobody around and bar / lounge areas closed from between 8/9pm. The breakfast is only available between 8.30am and 10am. The reality being that after ordering the breakfast is only available 8.45am onwards. All this is far too late for anybody staying and working in the area. This needs to change.

On arrival at Kedleston Country House, we were greeted warmly in a friendly manner and made to feel most welcome. The room was clean, the bathroom was bright and clean, and we had facilities to make a hot drink. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed a very tasty included breakfast. We hope to return again in the near future.
Only one socket behind the side tables. Needs another ideally for phone charging

The owner / hostess and the staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. Our visit was only one night but the location and closeness to Derby City Centre was most helpful. Delivery of food after time was welcomed and warm and delicious, Thank you.

There is an understated class to this B&B. A beautiful building that blends history with modern decor & facilities. Our room was well appointed, comfortable & spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly, professional & helpful. Parking was great & our room had lovely views. Breakfast was superb, lots of options & plentiful.
Air-conditioning would be a plus, but a fan was provided & the room has windows that did open wide. We ate in the restaurant in the evening - we were disappointed. The menu online was not the menu we were offered. I ordered a vegetarian tart that came on a tea plate with no accompanying vegetables or potatoes, making it rather overpriced. The small plate options were too experimental for our palettes, offering sweet & savoury together. It didn't work.

Nice old building and great evening meal
Staff were really lovely ☺️
The breakfast was terrible 😢 I’m sorry to say
Never had pork belly instead of bacon ever !
Not great and too much herbs all over the plate

Room and bed comfortable and wonderful free standing shower.
Evening meal very disappointing with not all items on the days menu unavailable and no deserts plus INSTANT coffee. Cooked breakfast took over 45 minutes to arrive yet there were only 6 customers and we had arrived first!

The room was clean and comfortable. Nice welcome from staff on arrival.
Chef didn't turn up for work so no breakfast available. Had to ask receptionist to make us tea and toast. No management on site. Have emailed Kedleston but no reply.

A comfortable room in a quiet location.
The Wi-Fi in our room was a bit hit and miss, but otherwise everything was fine.

Lovely place to stay , superb breakfast, staff very friendly. Excellent location.
Couple of small niggles with the room - couldn’t open the cabinet properly for tea/ coffee -as against the bed . Soap rack in shower fell off , curtain tie back hook missing .

The location of the hotel was excellent - in a quiet rural area but with relatively easy access to a nearby pub called the Joiner's Arms, to the NT property of Kedleston Hall and to the city of Derby.
The hotel was easy to find, albeit my satnav, using the postcode, directed me to the nearby golf club rather than the hotel itself. The parking area was good, on flat and smooth tarmac, and entrance was up a short flight of stone steps.
The hotel itself is an interesting mix of elegant-formal / shabby-chic and staff were friendly and helpful.
The restaurant was closed on the night I arrived, but breakfast the following morning was of good quality.
Unfortunately the hotel seems to be struggling to keep up with trivial maintenance issues. The TV remote control was missing from my room and the soap holder in the shower fell down the moment I touched it. Subsequently I realized that the toilet roll holder was loose and drooping; the blind in the bathroom was hanging at an angle as it appeared to have come off from one of its two mountings; the shower dripped noisily and intermittently all night; and an ornamental disc that was the base for the curtain sash cord came off at the slightest touch - and had evidently been glued ineffectively on a previous occasion.
Another disappointment was that the breakfast menu permitted one to make only one choice from its list - so that, for example, I was able to have either granola or a cooked breakfast, but not both, which seemed a bit stingy.

It’s tired, in need of some updating.
Breakfast was awful. Whoever cooked it wasn’t a chef.
My wife asked for a latte at breakfast and was told it would be an extra charge. That’s not on,

I had a fantastic stay at this charming bed and breakfast! The rooms were incredibly spacious with beautiful high ceilings that made everything feel so open and airy. The countryside location was peaceful and picturesque—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The breakfast each morning was absolutely excellent, with fresh, delicious options that really set the day off right. The staff were warm, welcoming, and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. I highly recommend this place and would love to return!

Would 100% stay again! Beautiful room, gorgeous bathroom with freestanding bath, robe and even bath salts! And I was leaving too early for breakfast so they chef gave me a continental breakfast to take to my room. Amazing service. Lots of parking right outside too, and very very close to Derby city centre! Dream.

The 2 ladies that run the hotel were delightful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was exceptional. The room was comfy but a little bit small. It did the job though. The shower was scary, too powerful for the size of the shower. Took my breath away as couldn’t get away from the shower head. The first breakfast was delightful, toast was brought over without even asking. Very tasty, good quality food. The second days breakfast still excellent quality however the man serving wasn’t as good as the lady the previous day. We had to ask for the toast and he wasn’t attentive, didn’t ask if everything was ok etc. this is the only reason we’ve marked down by 1 point.
