Rooms were big with plenty of tea/coffee. There were ample pillows and towels and a hair dryer in the room.

Check in went very well, Extremely polite lady at hotel reception, All through in under a few minutes, proceeded upstairs to my room. Accessed my room, i thought it was very spacious, liked the settee , nice touch. Tv was operational, but no satellite channels as listed in the brochure. I was very disappointed with the complimentary tray, no biscuits at all , no hot chocolate either, ive stayed in a few of the Marstons pubs .and this must be the thing, they dont all provide biscuits with your beverages.The bathroom filter in the shower had not been cleaned for months and a piece of cord was embedded inside the mechanism so it did not operate properly. Probably stay again, mainly for the piece and quiet, for saying it was just after bonfire nite very quite indeed

Shower /bath area - definitely not up too standard, filter not cleaned out and not working correctly, No complimentary biscuits, no air fresheners and room smelt a little fusty. Also could do with room service, i was told i could take my food to the room myself, but hence the distance and a upstairs room it was not practical and my food would have gone cold.

You Get What You Pay For...

The location suited our needs. The price was on the surface very good. But sadly in the instance 'you get what you pay for'.

Bed sheets had not been changed. I pulled back the sheets to discover hair in the bed. Fortunately, staff were still on site to move us to another room. They were not particularly apologetic. I have completed a review directly to the company but have not heard anything from them, so I can only suppose they do not really care.

The rooms were nice and comfortable - suited a purpose (attending Download festival for 3 nights). Great parking, good access, can't fault it.

The bed was comfortable.

No reception, had to go into pub to check in. Only one set of towels for 2 people, had to go to pub and wait for them to serve pub clientele before being able to ask for more towels. Only 1 tea bag each in the room & not enough sugar and as no reception wasn’t prepared to walk over to the pub to ask for more. Checked out at 10:58 (check out is 11:00) went for breakfast only to be told breakfast finished at 11:00 so we couldn’t have it. It was 2 minutes before 11 & the food was still laid out!!!

We've stayed here fairly regularly and the location is good for us

A significant drop in the room over the last two visits. Toilet didn't flush last visit and this time the room was very smelly. Not really sure what of really just stale and dirty smelling. The bed was clean but the bathrooms are getting very worn.

Cheap and cheerful last minute option but needs improvement for long term stays...

It's a super convenient location for what we needed. We were after a very last minute, cheap, convenient hotel. It served its purpose for sure. It was nearby to what we wanted too and easy to find when driving here. It was cheap too for a last minute buy- as was the addon breakfast.

Unfortunately on arrival to try checkin the staff were seemingly caught up with something at the bar (which is where you go to check in - not to the hotel itself) The staff apologised and explained that they "didn't know what was going on/happening" but it was apparently "mayhem" which didn't exactly build the best picture. We got to our room which was fine, outdated but not bad. Much to our excitement we saw the giant bed! Unfortunately though when we laid down on it - it was so uncomfortable. The mattress seemed to shrink straight down to the frame and we notice an attempt had been made with a topper - but to no avail. So, safe to say it was a most uncomfortable sleep. We like extra pillows too so to only find one in the wardrobe to accompany the one we had on the bed was a little sad. The place was clean but certainly not pristine as we found dead bugs next to our bed and since it's carpeted - all the dust had gathered at the edges of the skirting boards. We have yet to try the breakfast but hopefully it brings it back...

The location

Visibly an old building; floors were squeaking; bedside lamp shade was broken; it was the hottest day and the fan provided was so filthy and covered with dust. The floor of the room was also squeaky- made me uncomfortable when walking inside the room - there was no body in the Inn’s reception at any time of the day !
