The Flowerpot

Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. with tea and coffee facilities. Couldn't really hear the road which was nice. I had the room at the top of the hotel and didn't hear any other guests, not sure if that was because there were no other guests or it just had nice thick walls. There was also a little kitchenette which was stocked with breakfast items, which I thought was a great touch.

The key to the outside door didn't work despite it getting changed upon check in. I'd arrived back after a wedding quite late and had to be let in as my key wouldn't work. fortunately there was someone to let me in. I'm not sure if she was another guest or a member of staff, either way I was very grateful and can only apologise if I woke her up!. The room was also up 3 flights of quite steep stairs, which wasn't mentioned in the advert. I walk with a stick and do have difficulty walking sometimes. Though this time I was able to manage the stairs. If I were a wheelchair user or really reduced mobility I don't think I would have been able to stay there. Think that might need to be added to the advert to prevent any misunderstanding or disappointment.

A very comfortable, clean and friendly option for staying in central Derby. Friendly staff and a good pub next door.

There was a terrible smell, first thing we did on arrival was to open the windows !!
