I received a lovely welcome, and the room was spacious and comfortable. It was a beautiful position too, with an excellent breakfast (and a great pub down the road for an evening meal)

Coventry Country House

Lovely Quiet and secure location with a very comfortable bed, Breakfast was a huge selection of Yogurts, Fruit, Hams etc, full continental. Coventry is a 5 minute Uber ride from the Lodge. The Uber or Bolt taxi will cost you around £7 walk out of the Lodge drive to the road before dropping the Pin locator for the taxi pickup. We will always now check avaibility at the Lodge before booking anywhere else in Coventry. Thankyou to Coundon Lodge for opening up your grade 2 lodge for guests.

Im not sure if all rooms have the door closer arms but when you enter your room at night when people may be asleep be sure to hold the door handle, so the door does the last self close under your control, if not the closer will close the door with a very firm bang. Im sure this would be a fire regulation requirement but the closers are a bit fierce. This is not a moan just an observation so not to wake other guests.

It was OK, but breakfast was disappointing

Beautiful old house. Landlady was very friendly, and there was a relaxed vibe. Room was well proportioned and the bed was comfortable.

Breakfast was very basic (for the price), essentially cereal and toast. Room was cold and the portable heater to supplement the central heating had to run all night. Bathroom was cramped, and could have been cleaner. However the most annoying thing was the silly code lock for the bedroom door, slippery to use and having to remember a sequence and 6 digit code, was a pain - form over function!!

Regina was a great host and very welcoming the hotel is fabulous and the grounds the breakfast room and breakfast was lovely a hidden gem and a short taxi ride to Coventry city centre

There is nothing we didn’t like and loved reading about the lodges history we look forward to staying again soon

An absolute gem!

One of the loveliest places we have stayed! our host was fantastic from start to finish, communicated and accommodated us in the most welcoming manner, genuine lovely people who go abouve and beyond to make your stay as pleasant as possible, we had the apartment and it was cosy, clean and comfortable, genuinely a beautiful property that I will certainly be looking forward to staying in again, thankyou!

It is a special building with an interesting history, hat tip to the owner for writing it up in the welcome notes, lovely location, self-service breakfast buffet was good. Compelling price point for a solo traveller that wasn't looking for anything more than a bed and a shower

A lovely apartment in a great location

We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that but the kitchen seemed available at all times. We stayed in the third floor apartment, it was roomy and gave us really lovely spaces. We appreciated the space in the bathroom and having our own living room. The facilities were great, the wifi worked, the grounds were excellent for our dog. A lovely place to stay and would love to stay again.

The two staircases up to the third floor were a lot but we can’t really complain about that. Would have loved to have a tv in the bedroom too. We both found the mattress too soft for us and didn’t sleep well. The sofa was uncomfortable and could do with being updated.

Lovley place to stay

The lady who met us was called Regina ,she was so welcoming , she showed us around the place , Our room no 1 was very comfortable lots of space and our ensuite bathroom was spotlessly clean . This hotel has thought of everything in their welcome booklet it has information on where to go for food where to catch busses and gave taxi numbers too , Thankyou for the very nice complimentary breakfast there was lots to choose from something for everyone ,we had an amazing stay thankyou ❤️

It’s a total hidden gem! What a beautiful property with tonnes of character and a wonderful owner. So friendly and helpful when she greeted us, gave lots of recommendations for food and surrounding things to do.

Beautiful Grade II listed building at a very affordable price, loved the decor in the shared spaces. Friendly welcome with all the information I needed to enjoy my stay. Comfy bed, great sleep and buffet style breakfast set me up for two long working days. Highly recommend.

This is a lovely lodge in a quiet idyllic setting. The lodge has a quirky feel and is ideal for people staying over for business or a get away to relax. This is my 2nd stay and I look forward to returning in the future with lots of exciting plans for the lodge to be modernised without losing its unique features. The grounds are lovely, the owner extremely helpful, polite and welcoming.

Refreshing stay in beautiful lodge brimming with history

So much of this stay is likable and loveable - from the tree lined lane leading and opening up to the property, a true surprise, the lush carpet at the entrance, the high ceilings and grandeous rooms - have a look at the fireplace surround in the lounge - the green view that greets you outside the breakfast room, and many more things. Regina is super accommodating and really interested in her guests. The continental breakfast is wonderful - we boiled eggs, had fresh milk with our coffee made with grounded beans, and breads, cheeses, yoghurt, seeds etc. We sat outside on the terrace for breakfast, and also watched the sunset, blessed with good weather. This stay was great value for the money spent. Thanks Regina!!

It's always nicer to have an ensuite bathroom. We booked a shared bathroom based on availability. We were happy though, as we had the sole use of a toilet very close to the room. I must add that our room had a washing basin which was welcome.

Beautiful House set in beautiful Gardens

I love coming back to the green gardens and the peace in the very comfortable house, after the hectic pace of day to day life. Regina, Brian and the Staff can't do enough for you. Their ethos is treat it like your own home, as long as you're respectful to them and the other guests. The breakfast is set out for you and is a relaxing experience. Don't expect a full English , but there's lots of choice.

Wonderful House set in stunning Grounds

What a wonderful find! Beautiful Grade 2 listed House set in beautiful Grounds and minutes from the city centre. The House has a lovely ambience. I felt so at home here. I loved the peace and quiet. Breakfasts were informal and casual( no running down to the dining room at 5 minutes to 9 or you miss breakfast nonsense) ! And very varied and everything you want. Lovely Room and comfortable bed. Plus there was a kettle and tea and coffee in my Room. Exceptional value for money. So there isn't an ensuite. What you get are numerous toilets situated everywhere and a beautiful bathroom.. Regina and family couldn't have been nicer. I am very much looking forward to coming back !

A jem of a find.

This was a last minute work trip and the location was convenient, so easy to find and the building and grounds are lovely. Regina and Brian were so friendly and helpful, I felt at home immediately on entering the door. The room was clean and the breakfast was self serve with a lot of variety. I’m looking forward to a longer stay next time.
