Family room is a brilliant size for 2 adults and 3 teenage kids, very clean and great value. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Liz was always welcoming at breakfast and the food was delicious with big servings. The Sunday roast at the pub was amazing.

The breakfast was excellent on both days. We were two adults and three kids, all very happy with the breakfast options. Really pleased we were able to get a room with three single beds and an adjoining section with a double.
The room was a bit tired looking and not the cleanest; it was acceptable, just. One of the staff members at breakfast was pleasant and friendly but the other was pretty miserable on both days. Returning a smile or a polite "good morning" wouldn't have hurt.

breakfast was okay- reasonable choice, quiet location, bed was comfortable, staff in the main were friendly but a bit 'preoccupied' with other things. Car parking ample and easy to park in- close to rooms. Was able to use my Blue light card on food purchases was a bonus. No charge for pet which was great.
Scum around bath from previous occupants- had to clean it myself before using.
Bin not emptied on arrival from previous guest but was emptied on second day.
very untidy grounds and several chairs needed recovering in bar area (currently have duct tape on them.
Loads of dust on items (candle holders) in bath area.
Housekeeping poor and empty glasses and plates left for ages before being collected despite staff not being busy with customers....
No drawers in room so couldn't fully unpack. My room was very hot and my friend who stayed downstairs was very cold- heating system needs looking at.
Food was okay but not particularly hot and confusion over gluten free items for my friend who was staying- staff usure what was gluten free or not and allergen list not easy to locate or understand in relation to individual items.

Excellent location just off the main road, and surprisingly road noise wasn't an issue. Staff were really welcoming and friendly, both upon arrival and at breakfast. The family room was HUGE! Breakfast choices were excellent.
The hotel is very tired, which in itself isn't a problem, but the mould on the bathroom ceiling concerned me as my daughter is asthmatic. Also I think the windows could do with being replaced with double glazing as it was very cold despite having the radiator on. I felt that the family room was on the expensive side for the condition it was in, but perhaps it's size made up for it? Lighting was poor to do hair and makeup for a competition, only one chair to 2 desks, and no mirrors near plug sockets or dressing tables.
