mediocre, lacking, lost the will

The wifi would not, under any option or circumstance, connect to the TV so the channels were very limited. The "hot" breakfast was cold, not that the staff coming through to make sandwiches seemed to mind The attendant was playing the radio, from her phone, carrying it in and around with her so you either couldn't hear it or it was disruptingly loud. When I asked to give feedback on check out, I was told they had no forms printed or available. I am still waiting for a VAT receipt to be emailed

nice location, good size room but a very dated hotel. Could do with a lot of modernising.

The Room was quiet and spacious. The location was lovely and close to the event I was attending.

Just felt it was very dated and the staff were not very happy to deal with people. I paid extra on arrival for breakfast and found it not that appealing and decided to not have breakfast the second morning. The bedroom had old fashioned plug sockets so struggled o find a socket to plug my phone charger in.

Very dated, the pillows were very uncomfortable. The room was OK but overlooking the bins. Walls were very thin and we could here neighbours talking. The Carvery was dreadful

Check in and out was good.

I tried to ring to reception before I arrived but on two occasions it just cut off . I never did get through. The pool and facilities were poor and the jacuzzi was not working properly. The general tone of the entire hotel gave the feeling of neglect. Time for a refurbishment.

I didn't like anything, the hotel was filthy, poor decoration, coving was hanging off the ceiling, broken glass all over the tables, the whole hotel smelt funny, it was tired and dilapidated. On arrival I asked the receptionist at the hotel if the room had 4 beds as I booked two adults and two children so either two doubles or a double and 2 singles would of been sufficient, they said yes it sleeps four but got placed in a room with only 3 beds and the bathroom flooded with weird filthy lunps of what looked like clumps of hair

Nice hotel but needs some work

The property has a great location and a loverly looking building the facilities are good and we got to use the swimming pool

The room we stayed in was very tired. The walls showed signs of wear and there was only 1 plug to use for the bed side lights despite 2 bed side lights available. There was a towel rail in the bathroom which must have been broken at some point and now the pipe is just linked on the floor but no longer heats the towel rail. There was signs of black mould on the roof of the bathroom. The room had a small oil filled radiator which seemed to be missing its base. It’s a shame they only have a set menu at the restaurant would have stayed on site had there been a choice but with a child the set menu was limited.

Good sized room

In need of refurbishment, the decor is tatty and worn. One of the reasons I stayed there was that it had a restaurant carvery advertised in the booking.com description, but it was closed. If I had been informed in advance, I would have gone elsewhere. I only stayed for one of the nights of my two-night stay as there was nowhere to eat within walking distance. It has once been a lovely hotel but has been neglected in recent years.

Definitely worth the money, with facilities that exceed expectations for the price.

This hotel offers outstanding value for money. For the price you pay per night, the range of facilities is impressive. They have a fully equipped gym, a decent swimming pool, a sauna, a jacuzzi, and a steam room. That is a lot on offer compared to many hotels in the same price range. It may not quite reach the standards of a five-star property, but the amenities provided more than justify the cost. You get access to a wide variety of facilities options at a decent price.

It was convenient, easy parking and has shown lots of improvements to an old hotel over the past few years. Lots of rooms have been upgraded and are generally kept in good order.

Amazing as always!

From the location to the inside, the greeting from the staff of how welcoming they were the room was nice cosy and had a heater ready for us which made it even more better, the bathroom was dated and was nice and clean. Couldn't fault it at all 10/10

Disappointing

The entrance was lovely

Pictures show a hotel of grand Victorian style building, this is only the small section, rest of it looks like a prison. Food was horrible, rooms outdated by at least 50 years, no door bar between bathroom floor and bedroom carpet, I tripped over it. Lift was extremely dodgy and dropping by a centimetre when it stopped. Staff were of no customer service, girl at front reception couldn’t be bothered, didn’t even smile. Bar glasses were disgustingly dirty and so was the bar staffs shirt he was wearing

Buffet style evening meal was good value with good size helpings

Corridor carpets had need of a vacuum. Overall hotel was clean and exceeded our expectations. Bed mattress was too soft for our liking.

The fish l had on friday wasn't fuly cooked and cold. When coming out of lift could smell whacky backy and room across from where I stayed kept slamming their door throughout the night. This didnt spoil the stay was comfortable with everything you needed.

Lovely short stay

Although a little dated our stay was very comfortable. The room was very clean and spacious with plenty of drawers for clothing, and the bathroom looked refurbished.

Charging points would be good at the bedside but not a problem. The pillows were very hard for our liking, but overall, it wasn't a problem

How can l get my money back.I enjoyed nothing there

My bed was very uncomfortable with an oversize matress on a like medium single bed,l fell twice.The room was so cold and the radiator were making noise.The food was cold and l had diarrhoea the whole night,the salmon was called.

Location for wedding we were attending

The first room was poorly equipped in terms of bedding but that was swiftly addressed, and another room was found. In the new room, the mattress was well-worn and dipped - an uncomfortable night constantly rolling into my husband! The duvet barely covered the width of the bed. The bed was hardly made on arrival.the sheets were there, but not tucked in, it was as if the task had been abandoned as too much fuss. Coffee machine didn’t function. Bath towels minimal in size. Mini fridge balanced in top of a coffee table. Tired and outdated decor. It all felt as though it had been kitted out on the cheap.
