The water from the hot water tank has a strong sulphurous smell when you run the tap

Loved it good place to stay and location too perfect for what we were looking for.

Very cosy just what it say’s ideal for my wife and myself and our wee pup cocker spaniel Mila.

Was lovely location very comfortable and great value for money. Our dogs loved it as much as we did.We had a very chilled time just what we needed.

At first realising it was joined on to other lodges but it was nt a problem in the end and we would definitely return.

Thankfully, the bedding was clean.

On arrival, an overpowering stench hit us as we opened the door. At first glance, it seemed tidy enough but on further inspection the whole place was in need of a deep clean. For example, my partner picked up the cushions and the dust that came off was unbelievable. There were no towels or toilet paper, too! I simply pointed this out to the owner in passing but she became immediately defensive (then aggressive) when I brought this up with her, looking for every excuse or explanation. They also charge extra for electricity. Be warned, you will use A LOT as the place is very dark and dingy.

great location but accomodation let it down badly. wont be staying here again.

website showed that the lodge was a stand alone property but it was a block of 4 with paper thin walls. It was very cold on arrival , thought the heating could have been switched on given the time of year it was. Description stated a extra large king size bed yet it was obviously 2 singles pushed together which came apart during the night and my feet were sticking out the bottom! Had problems getting the TV to work and the contact number on a print out on the wall for advice had a telephone number which didnt work.

Could have done with a coat hanger close to the front door, as no where to hang wet coats. Also why have white duvet cover when we advised we were bringing our dog??

Surrounding green areas are well kept & beautiful.

Decor & soft furnishings & carpet are a bit dark & drab, making 1st impressions walking in a bit disappointing. Never saw any staff even when looking for them to pay for electricity.

Loved the location close to many beautiful places. Good bathroom. Squirrels feeder in front of our window made it very special. Pet friendly place, no issue with checking in and out!

Its a wooden lodge so its quite dark and the light in a living room was not enough.

Amazing staycation

Everything at rowan lodge was fantastic for a staycation, 5 min drive into the village which had free parking. Staff were lovely and friendly. Site very peaceful and good location. Lodge had all the suitable amenities needed.Will definitely be back.
