Easy check in after hours via key safe.
There was an unpleasant, stale smell particularly in the kitchen but throughout the property. The carpet had unpleasant stains in every carpeted room, making me feel like I didn’t want to take my shoes off in the apartment. The double bed mattress was sagging at one side and the single beds were very narrow. No dining table or dining chairs just camping stools and a low camping table. These last three things are points I notice that other customers had made in previous years and you had noted and yet hadn’t been addressed. The towels provided also smelled stale and unpleasant. In one wardrobe there was a crumpled up extra blanket which was stained and too unpleasant to use . The fridge was small and missing the inside door shelf to be able to store milk upright.

Great location - close to both Culross and Edinburgh, perfect for our Outlander-inspired trip.
• Clean and well-maintained flat.
• Two bedrooms and two bathrooms – ideal for more comfort and privacy.
• Well-equipped kitchen with everything needed for cooking.
• Beautiful historic flat with large windows and lots of natural light.
• TV with Netflix available.
• Gorgeous park just 10 minutes away on foot.
• Dunfermline itself is a lovely place – we really enjoyed it!
• Washing machine was not clean.
• Host sent many messages before arrival and insisted on an extra contract (we didn’t sign it, and it was fine in the end).
• Pet fee is £12 per night – ended up being £48 for 4 nights, so worth noting.
• Wi-Fi stopped working on the last day, and called the host that evening – we left the next day without it being fixed.
• Parking is only for loading/unloading. There’s a free car park (Priory Lane) about 8 minutes away where we always found a spot.

Location was great.
Having a washing machine very handy.
Checking time of 6pm was extremely disappointing. Not in line with industry standards.
The dining table was a fold up camping table and the stools unusable for adults.
Kitchen was a mismatch of cutlery and crockery. 3 Spoons and 3 bowls for 4 people and no serving spoons.
Most things we used had to be washed prior to using.

Location, 2 bathrooms, good lounge, Milk and coffee supplied.
Late check in could be an issue, but not for us on this occasion

The front bedroom near the road was very noisey sat night sun morning i had no sleep
8.0 / 10.0
The location for me was excellent as it was near family. I slept in the room at the back of building and it was very quiet.
Keys easy to pick up and leave. Place was very tidy and it was a very large apartment with separate kitchen and living room. Well stocked if mutliple people were going to use.
The mattress on the double bed very poor/cheap or old it had no support) and the quality of sheets very poor. Just changing those would improve the experince exponentially. The wifi should be listed in the hallway with password easy to see and find not on the Booking.com messaging. There should be doorstops in each room of the apartment as the inner hall very dark and the doors heavy. Also the heat on high and the airflow with doors open will be much better. Finally I got a call at 8:30am to say people were coming to view the property at 10:30. It was too early a call and not really convenient on the first morning I was there. They should have waited to when there are not guests renting the space.

the flat location is excellent - yards away from town centre shops and close to places of interest. The hosts were prompt to deal with queries. The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering.
It's odd to have a good kitchen for cooking but not to provide a decent table and chairs to eat a meal. The lounge is plenty big enough to take a dining table and chairs. There was only a portable picnic table with tiny stools suitable for children. The lounge was lit only by a single not very bright ceiling light (no lamps at all) and I couldn't read by that light.
I know the check in / check out times are made clear on the site, but it is ungenerous not to allow check-in till 6pm and also to charge £12 each day for three days for a dog when the cleaning is only done once at the end, so I haven't given top rating for value for money. Also there is not any parking at the flat - but a cheap town car park isn't far away.

Location.
Having 2 bathrooms.
The camping table and chairs in lieu of a dining table seemed strange, and not really suitable for any of us, especially my 6 foot son!
Lack of mugs -there were only 3, all grubby and one cracked.
Some utensils weren’t clean.
En-suite shower floor was very slippy.

The apartment was clean and comfortable with both an en-suite and bathroom which was great for two couples. Everything was there that was needed for our two night stay although we didn’t really cook much everything was there if we wanted too.
The wi-fi was free and worked perfectly and the location was brilliant, only a short walk to the station to get the train into Edinburgh.
It would have been better if there was parking available but that is not the problem of the accommodation it’s just due to location.

Location good
Fridge milk shelf broken, smelt a little damp. Could do with a folder telling you of things to do in area maybe ideas of where to eat that sort of thing

Clean and presentable
One of beds mattress wasn't comfortable and had a hollow so needs replacing. Toiletries supposed to be supplied but shampoo and shower gel was left empty and cutely in kitchen not clean. Bags of rubbish was left in stairs as you came in which made stairs narrow and rubbish was rotten so was stinky.

Great location, spacious. They’d thought about the extras like providing handwash/ shampoo/ washing up liquid etc and heating on prior to arrival. Instructions for arrival very clear/ easy.
No wifi and they hadn’t checked some things - like there was food left in the fridge and rubbish bag left in hallway.

The flat was reasonably priced, was clean and tidy & had plenty of room for 4 people. The best thing was its location in the town centre - excellent for me who travelled by train and only a 10 minute walk from station. I would stay there again.
It's in need of some decorating and maintenance as it was a little tired in places and a few repairs were necessary. There was no table to sit at when dining, which was odd. Okay for me alone, but not convenient for 4 people. Also quite a few stairs to get up to it - could be difficult for older not so able guests.

I Liked how close the property is to town, but also wasn’t close to the pubs so didn’t hear the noisy drunks haha. I liked the homey feel to the apartment and how it was easy to settle in.
the one thing I didn’t like was that their wasn’t a table to sit and have meals at. The coffee table is slim so couldn’t fit much on it and eating meals felt a little stressed as didn’t want to spill anything. Apart from that everything else was amazing.

The location was right in town centre with parking very close by. lovely big lounge and double bedroom we used with en-suite was a bit smaller than the twin room but fine for us.
Would benefit from a larger fridge freezer.

The only pro about this property is the location.
I do not like to write a bad review but this property is horrendous!! We stayed here over New Year and I hugely regret it. We did not complain when we were there as they were holding a £200 “security deposit” which I was only asked for on the night before arrival and we were afraid that we would not get our deposit back.
- Entrance hall carpet is dated and badly “patched” together
- Long bundle of black hair on carpet in single bedroom
- Black hairs underneath toilet seat (both bathrooms)
- 1 x single bed had been slept in by others!!!
- Dusty
- Showers not cleaned properly (previous guests shower gel marks left etc)
- Rusty pop-up plug in en-suite sink
- Strange black stains/marks on single bedroom carpet
- No guest information manual left
- Kitchen is VERY poor.. melted work top, only one oven tray to cook with? I bought another for £2 from Asda and left it there for others to use
- Oven racks weren’t clean either was the one oven tray
- Majority of cutlery is plastic and cheap
- No cloths or cleaning materials available?
- Washing tablets had burst under sink, they had obviously been leaking a LONG time and not been cleaned up (or the sticky disgusting basket they were in) - this has now been cleaned by myself.
I hope someone from Carvetii reaches out to me about our stay as it was truly terrible. I will be posting this review elsewhere to warn others too.

Excellent location. Lots to see and do around the area. Theatre 1 min walk away. Highly recommend for couples or family, delighted with 2 bathroom which made.it easy getting ready to go out for the evening. I will definitely use again. Craft beer and wine shop downstairs was great and a wealth of information.
