Would happily stay again

Clean and comfortable apartment.

A few coffee pods for the lovely machine available as we had to leave before the coffee shop was open. Bedroom door could not close due to the bed frame. As we are both living in different time zones just now it was an inconvenience as my husband was watching tv

Excellent central location. Car parking nearby. Clean, spacious and comfortable. All communications from us to the company were dealt with by a great member of staff, Natalia, who was so helpful and friendly.

Shower head could be replaced for a better experience.

Cold!

The property was in a great location and had everything we needed. Easy check in details and directions. Property was neat, not particularly clean (hair in bed & dirt marks on throw).

Unfortunately during our stay the boiler and heating wasn’t working. I informed the staff immediately upon checking in and it wasn’t addressed to the following morning, when we returned back to the property in the evening to discover it still not working - there was no reply from any staff. The flat was freezing cold and it made for a very uncomfortable stay. We were offered a late check out as compensation, but we left early anyways as it was too cold to stay! A real shame, but important to know if you have any vulnerable guests staying that this issue was not addressed quick enough or fixed at all.

Convenient for the town

Great location for the town. Large flat and very comfortable.

For a large apartment the kitchen wasn't that well equipped. There was no hanging space at all for clothes. No complimentary welcoming pack and for the price of this apartment, I would have expected something. There were no instructional leaflets at all, not even local information. I had trouble getting the free WiFi there and had to contact the owner several times to get it sorted. I wasn't sure how to operate the tv and right up to leaving had not managed to get some channels as it kept saying that there was no WiFi connection! I found an item of clothing from a previous guest lying on the floor in the bedroom, so not sure about their cleaning staff! I really did not find it value for money.

A great base to explore Fife

This was a great find. The accommodation is spacious, comfortable and clearly newly refurnished. Good location.Edinburgh is easily accessed by train (30 mins). Good places to eat nearby. We don't mind stairs, but 75 up and down may put some off.

The Blind in the bedroom was pinned up (unsure why) so we were woken by daylight each morning. Need more instructions on how to work heating (we worked it out eventually). A rack and some hangars to hang clothes (even just a coat rack, would be good.

First choice for future Dunfermline visits

Great central location close to shops Restaurants and local tourist attractions. Cheap parking close by. The building has been refurbished to the highest standard with quality furniture and fittings throughout. The stair/hallway entrance is absolutely magnificent 👌🏼. Will definitely be booking again for our twice yearly visits.

Lack of response to several questions regarding the propert and facilities in local area.

The apartment itself was lovely but there was absolutely nowhere to hang clothes, not even hooks! A bottle opener would have been good.

Several flights of stairs totaling almost 80 steps!

Pristine, perfect location, comfy- kitchen could be slightly more stocked

Immaculately clean, incredible location(!!!) everything is modern and pristine- we even had access to netflix!

The only issue we had was the kitchen not being completed stocked and needing to look up 3 different websites to figure out how to use the very specific brand of stove top. The kitchen just needed a few more simple but important things like a cleaning/counter top spray, cooking oil, pasta strainer, a second pan or pot, veg cutting knives (or just one). This would really make it feel like a home away from home, since having a kitchen was crucial to our stay. Another minor inconvenience was that there was no mirror in the bathroom which meant my boyfriend couldn't shave, despite there being a specific plug in the bathroom for shavers only. Again, this was a minor thing at least

Plush apartment

What a fantastically plush apartment, spotlessly clean and comfortable right in the middle of the town. Parking is within 5 minutes walk and at £3.80 / 10 hrs or £4.20 via the Ringo app (figure that!). All the comforts you would expect in your own home. I highly recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The location is in the middle of town, the town hall clock rings on the hour up to 12:00 am and can be a little disturbing.

Would recommend, excellent location for what we needed and good spacious clean apartment

Loved the building and apartment, host on the phone before we arrived very helpful and reassuring as we were arriving late and so we’d know how to get in, very clean and spacious. Only saw host briefly while we were there and they were friendly.

Generally hosts very friendly and welcoming, on our last day saw staff outside the building we weren’t even sure if they were staff at first as they didn’t ask how our stay was or anything so a lack of interest was noticed but otherwise all good

Charming and enjoyable day and comfortable, clean, beautifully updated loft department.

The location was fabulous as the town of Dunfer Lane is very charming and fun to explore. We loved the view.

Property there is no elevator and 73 stairs is quite a lot. We did appreciate the exercise though.

Warm Hospitality and a Peaceful Stay

We stayed at Barnet House for three nights – Friday through Monday – and had such a pleasant experience. From the moment we arrived, it felt like a home away from home. Our host, Natalia, was wonderful – always quick to respond to any questions and genuinely kind in the way she communicated. You could tell she really cared about her guests, and that made a big difference. Everything was clean, well-organized, and comfortable, which made our stay really relaxing. The location was also great – quiet and peaceful, but still conveniently close to Edinburgh, Glasgow, and other nearby attractions. It gave us a nice balance of exploring during the day and unwinding in the evening. Overall, it was a really nice few days, and we left with great memories. We’d absolutely recommend Barnet House to anyone looking for a warm, welcoming place to stay in the Dunfermline area.

If we had to mention anything, the shower pressure was a little on the lower side – but honestly, it wasn’t a big issue and didn’t take away from the comfort of our stay. Everything else more than made up for it!

There was no parking near the property. The stairs to the top floor apartment were a real challenge & getting our luggage up all the stairs was difficult.

This is an excellent option for stays in Dunfermline. Barnet House was immaculate, quiet and in the perfection location in the centre of town.

It took me a while to work out the heating and coffee machine. Perhaps the hosts could include instructions for their guests going forward.

Nice stay but why the need for additional personal data and card information outside of booking.com?

Clean, large property. Centrally located. Similar property in Edinburgh would be double the price.

Choose carefully - lots of stairs. Very cold on arrival. It took hours to heat the apartment to a comfortable level. I feel uneasy about the extra detail the landlord requested via a link to an app outside of booking dot com app. They requested personal information and card details. Why? Booking dot come does this already. There should be no need for this. Incidentally, and I don’t know if this is related, but I’ve had an increase in spam messages via text and email since I provided that information.

Racism

I arrived at night and the apartment had no heating. The next day I contacted them in the morning via WhatsApp to have the heating fixed. They said the owner lived in Gasglow and would arrive at 5:30 pm to fix it. When she arrived in the afternoon, she saw I was Latina and didn't look kind to me. She was supposed to come back but she didn't, and the heating didn't work. Then I heard a lot of noises and I went downstairs and she lives on the floor below. the next day I went out and when I entered one of the entrance doors (there are 3 doors) did not close properly (they are automatic) and she (supposedly duela) came out of an apartment and started yelling at me why I had to close the door properly, I apologized because I had not seen that the door did not close properly, she threatened me saying that if I went out again she was going to throw me out to the street and that if I received food at home she would also throw me out to the street, with that threat that night I could not eat because the lady did not allow it. The treatment was the worst and saying that she did not like me to speak Spanish that she did not have time for those things. It was very racist

We liked the apartment, it was lovely and the hosts couldn’t have been friendlier.

It was noisy at night, though possibly worse due to the rugby! A few things seemed missing. Plugs in the kitchen and bathroom sinks, etc.

Wir hatten das Apartment Nr.8 mit einem sehr schönen Blick über die Dächer. Es war alles vorhanden, was man brauchte. Sauberkeit, Ausstattung, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Pubs und Restaurants alles bestens. Verkehrsanbindungen super, sowohl vom Flughafen, nach Edinburgh, nach Glasgow und in die div. Orte in Fife .

Tolles Apartment, tolle Lage

Das Apartment liegt total zentral. Es hat eine tolle Größe und eine super ausgestattete Küche.

Das Bett war nur ein "kleines" Doppelbett von 1,40m Breite. Und ganz großes Manko: im Bad gab es keinen Spiegel. Auderdem ist es wichtig zu wissen, dass man sofort nach der Buchung die Passdaten/Kaution hinterlegen muss, sonst wird einem das Apartment storniert. Wir haben am Anreisetag erst gebucht, bezahlt und uns wurde auch die Abreisezeit um 1Uhr Nachts bestätigt. Als wir jedoch vor dem Apartment ankamen, war es storniert worden :-(

Das Barnet house ist ein Tolles Haus mit guten Materialien aus alter Zeit an einem gute Ort.

war beides gut, leider aber mo und di geschlossen sehr guter Response durch Serviceopersonal bei verstopften WC am ersten Tag.

Ein bett mit Kopfende in viel zu kleinem Zimmer und Rückwand verstellt das Fenster. Aus dem Bett möchte man zum Licht schauen. Mit 2 Nachttischen ging durch die Stellung des Bettes die Tür nicht zu, musste also ein Nachtschrank verschieben Eine zu grosse Küche für ein zu kleines Appartment Der Wind (Sturm) lies die App.tür im Rahmen klappern wenn es für 3 angeboten wird, müsste statt 2 auch 3 Stühle stehen und vielleicht auch ein Sessel nahe Sofa

Appartement spacieux, très calme, très propre, commerces et restaurants à proximité . Proche de l’aéroport (30 min) et d.Édimbourg

Démarches un peu longues entre réservation booking et reception du digicode…( envoi de pièce d’identité et empreinte bancaire)..le parking n’est pas trop loin mais n’est gratuit que la nuit ( assez peu onéreux la journée)
