Nice room, but lack of facilities

At a very peaceful location with a nice view. Bedroom was spacious. Very clean, staff was friendly. The terrace we had was huge, almost bigger than the room!

The bathroom was tiny and the shower sprayed water everywhere, including on the toilet paper. The neighbours’ bathroom was very loud and kept waking me up at night. The receptionist was friendly but not very knowledgeable. There is no restaurant nearby and we were promised a 10% discount at their restaurant chain but in the end, after we went, the waitresses were super rude and gave us no discount…

Very peaceful and beautiful view of the fortress.Can see the Sound and Light show from my balcony.Communal kitchen,free washing machines,three small supermarkets nearby.Half an hour walk to Old Town.Exceptionally clean.

Nice view

The room was enormous and spotless, with a gorgeous view. Even though there weren’t any amenities, the reception was open 24 hours, and if you wanted to grab a coffee, you could get it there. The staff was friendly and attentive to your needs.

It’s in the middle of the gipsy area which made it rather uncomfortable and loud The parking was with camera which was comforting

The room size was good however the cleanliness was low. It was all dusty and we had a box full sunflower seeds that have been eaten. The sound of the show on the balcony was too loud and could not be lowered

Watch for signs for Kings View Guest House to find this hotel

I had a bit of a problem finding this hotel. When I set my GPS, it took me to a street which was closed off as it looked like a lot of old houses/buildings in that area were being demolished. The street name was the same as for the hotel. I was discouraged and was trying to find parking and ended up driving around the city and all of a sudden I started seeing signs for Kings View Guest House and I eagerly followed those signs and DID find the property. I think the street it is on is a long one and curves around to the area by the Fortress and the construction/redevelopment of that area has closed THAT END of the street. About 10:00 PM, I started hearing what sounded like an announcement over a loud speaker; it turned out to be the sound and light show for the Fortress (which I did not understand because it was in Bulgarian but I could watch from my balcony as it faced the Fortress). This was an unexpected treat. They also had a complimentary coffee machine in the reception area, 24 hours a day which was appreciated.

Free parking was advertised but it is very shaky. I started out on the side of the very crowded and fairly busy street in front of the hotel but one of the staff made me move the car to a very steep side-street/driveway. They had security cameras on the street the hotel is on but I am not sure about the area where I was told to move my car to. But nothing happened and it all turned out OK. If you stay here, make sure you have purchased food or eaten before you get there as there is very little to choose from in the immediate area. This is a very difficult town to negotiate and parking is a nightmare. I ended up forfeiting a visit to the Fortress (which is the main attraction in this town) because I could not find a parking spot and I could not afford the time to keep circling around waiting for someone else to leave.

Room was clean, beds comfortable, viee through the windows amazing, staff was friendly.

Shower was over the toilet, not very comfortable, but overal everything was clean and usable.

The size of the room is really great - enough big for 3 people, felt good. The A/C worked fine, and it was important, as we traveled in a very warm period. The common kitchen is enough well equipped, big dining room downstairs. Big fridges downstairs. Half of the rooms has a fantastic view to the fortress and the valley, try to get one of those, if it matters to you.

No shower curtain, no equipment to clean the floor and it was flooded after a shower. The curtains let the light inside, so at night the street lamps were disturbing. (The light comes in from the stairway as well above the door, no curtain there.) If you are not sensitive for this, then does not matter. A small private fridge would be useful in the room as well, at least in the upper floors. (We stayed on the 3rd floor, the kitchen is on minus 1.)

Location- this is on top of the gypsy residential area, hence your view is straight onto it, plus at night you hear amazing gypsy music, no matter how you like it, you are simply right there.

Nice staff, very helpful. Very nice that's there is a free coffee/tea. Parking places are monitored with cameras, and staff is at the desk 24/7. Good to leave car near hotel, and take a walk to town center (because there is hard to park car in center), to walk to town center you will need 20-30 min. If you are staying here with the car, You can visit a waterfall with blue water not far from Veliko Tarnovo.

Fanatstis hotel close to the downtown, fantastic fews from the balcony. You can watch the light show from the balcony. No problems with parking at all. Free coffee and tea at the reception area.
