Charming, quiet and comfortable. The location is perfect for exploring the city. The manager is very helpful. My private room was a cozy heaven with the snow falling outside the window.
Leaving, this hostel and Veliko Ternovo are worth a longer stay.

The hostel is very pretty and our room was quite big!
Instead of having one double bed, we had two single beds that we couldn't joined...

All you can eat breakfast for 7€!
It’s basically an old school hostel. It works!

A little bit far from the main area but in a quite street. Extra blankets available and lots of bench seating in the kitchen area. Everyone there was friendly.

I liked the location. The staff was second to none . Not very big which makes it even better. Also the best atmosphere I have seen in a hostel in a long time.

Cool common spaces, both in and outdoors. Beds were reasonably comfortable, location was good. Staff were friendly. Hostel cat is really cute.
Staff were great when they were there, but reception was only open 3 hours per day, as it's the off-season. That also meant the whole place was very quiet and lacked the social vibe of a hostel. It's probably great in the busier season but it felt a bit dead.

It’s located about 25 mins walk from the city centre but close to most of the major attractions like the Tsarevets Fortress and Tarnovgrad Multimedia complex. Staff speak English and are very helpful. It doesn’t have air conditioning, but every room contains a really powerful fan, so you won’t get too hot. Plus, the fact that it’s located in an old Bulgarian house also makes your experience feel that much more authentic!
There are only two toilets in the entire place, which means you often have to wait in order to relieve yourself. It would have been nice if the bunk beds had curtains too.

really friendly staff, lovely place, probably one of the best hostels I've ever been to, good price
it was really hot in the rooms, no ac but just a fan
payment only in cash (only лв), but Bulgaria is getting € next year, so I won't be such a big deal anymore :)

Great friendly character hostel in a lovely quiet area with a fully equipped kitchen and large dining room. Very clean and staff are very helpful, a big shout out to Gabby who made everyone welcome and made our stay memorable 😀

Great place, at a convenient location.
Hosts were very friendly and hospitable. I was even offered a towel for free when I expected I would have to rent it.
All in all, I would highly recommend, phenomenal value for money and a wonderful place to stay in if you don't mind sleeping over at a hostel.
I'm very tall and had trouble fitting on the bunk bed, but that's to be expected at the price level/type of accommodation.

Hassle-free self check-in procedure. Friendly personnel. Lovely old stone building.
The hostel does not organize day trips anymore. There are also dorms, and May is hot season for class / school trips, so this should be taken into consideration noise- and ruckus-wise for those who book private rooms.

The hostel was always clean and the staff was really nice. It's in a nice nature surrounding not far from the center.
There are no real bed covers, just blankets, which for me wasn't enough and I felt cold at night. There's also no sofa, just pillows on the floor. It's fine but just be aware of it

10/10! Clean, organized, great location, amazing staff

Good location, easy to find a parking space which is free, good staff and good value for this price.
Two people cannot take showers in a row. Boiler needs to be fixed. If you are coming in winter, heating is only with a small heater, might be enough but just keep that in mind. Also for the hot days of summer, there is no A/C in the room and you can't open the windows because there is no flyswatter on the windows and i don't think it's safe t open the windows when you are sleeping as well.

Amazing location on a quiet street but within close walking distance to most sights. Great to have free parking on the street.

I was pleasantly surprised by the hostel. The staff was very friendly and everything was clean. The location is great and it was easy to find. If I had to mention one minor thing, it would be that I'm used to sleeping in a larger bed, so the standard-sized ones felt a bit small to me — but they were still comfortable enough.

A definite must for intrepid backpackers, young and old. Felt so much at home that it was difficult to leave. Kitchen well equipped. Quiet neighbourhood. Plenty of open spaces for guests to enjoy on a warm sunny day. Love ‘mama’, the cat who shamelessly takes advantage of its cuteness to cuddle up to you. I love the friendliness of Rado, the manager and Marie, the volunteer and mama, the grey looking cat. I would definitely return if I am fortunate enough to visit Veliko Tarnavo.
Not a thing.

Great place for the price - we had a private room which was comfortable and we enjoyed the vibe of the place. Good kitchen facilities and helpful staff.
One fairly big downside - the room did not have curtains so there was no privacy and the sun woke us up very early. Eye mask essential.

I was at this hostel some years ago. I returned seeking a repeat of the relaxing atmosphere. (It was there at times.)
The hostel is a good hostel with lots of space which I like.
This time I found it less calming as they allowed guests to play a hostel guitar in the communal areas loudly and badly when they felt like it. This totally ruined my stay as I had to leave the hostel a few times to get away from the awful noise.

It is very clean and cosy place. 5 min walk from Tsarevets Fortress. Quiet little street with enough free parking places. Self checking in organized was very easy. We stayed with our dog and there was no problem at all.
It is a hostel and it is needed to understand that you are not alone in the house. The night we stayed there was a Russian or Ukranian group of people leaving the hostel from 4am to 6am slamming doors, speaking in loud noises. So we didn't sleep. It would be nice if there is always a person from the staff in the hostel.

The hostel is in an old traditional house, very cool! The kitchen space is spacious and cosy. People who work there are friendly
It was really cold in the dorm, and the provided blanket was not enough, could barely sleep at all because of the cold

It was a very great experience! I met there lots of cool guys from all over the world. We had such a great time! Also, it's a very quiet place near the old fortress. There is a huge garden where you can relax and be in silence. And there is an enormous amount of grapes! You can cut and eat it. It was very sweet
It was cold at night
