Highly recommended for a short stay or longer if needed.

Really friendly and helpful owner. Apartment was very clean and close to the centre. All amentities were on hand to cook, wash, sleep. There was even a washer and tumble dryer available too.

There was no coffee in the room but a trip to the local shop soon sorted that as all the facilities to make a drink/food was available in the room.

Comfortable guesthouse and wonderful host

We stayed for just one night, but it was wonderful. Our room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable, with towels and toiletries provided. The location is fantastic, close to all the main attractions, restaurants, and shops. Our host was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful, and she made us feel welcome throughout our stay. We had an evening bus, and she kindly invited us to use the common areas and leave our backpacks until then, which we truly appreciated. We definitely recommend this guesthouse and would love to come back and stay longer.

Lovely place to stop

Our second time at Diel, we always use it as a pleasant stopover on our way to our house from Sofia, always very clean, quiet, convenient as it's not far from the road out of VT, lots of shops around, the owner is incredibly helpful and friendly, beds are comfy and it has all you may need.

Views out the window and the area aren't spectacular (blocks of flats) and the AC unit didn't seem to work but I'm sure it could've been sorted had we asked.

A great stay at a wonderful place.

I have nothing negative to say. Guest House Diel exceeded my expectations, by far The host was very friendly and more than accommodating. I loved my stay here and in the city of Veliko Tarnovo in general. Do yourself a favor and stay here, it is nice and quiet and although it might not have the atmosphere of a hostel, it offers a welcome respite from that hostel vibe. I hope to return here one day.

Excellent stay

The host is amazing, helpful and super friendly. I love her excellent English ❤️ We took the apartment, huge and clean, with all the facilities. The beds are very confortable, is quiet, we slept very well. The terrace is also nice. We did a 15 mins walk to Old Town. We had free parking, safe, in front of the house. We'll come back here!

Diel is a legend!

Diel is definitely a super host! She was extremely kind, helpful, and accommodating. She gave me very good tips on what to do and provided local insights on what to see in Veliko Tarnovo. She helped me sort out my bus ticket to my next destination and was always there to assist. The room is clean and has very good AC, which is definitely a must!! Clean towels and toiletries are provided, and the mini fridge in the room was a bonus. The guest house is a 10-minute walk to the main street of the town, and there is a very nice restaurant around the corner from the guest house that serves great food.

Everything was wonderful!

Every morning the smoke detector on the ceiling began to beep. I don't know why🤷‍♀️ (there was no smoke, I don't smoke, the window was closed the wind could not bring). I think you should check it out (room 402). Come to this room early in the morning and listen (it beeped every 5-10 minutes). It was quiet during the day and evening.

Friendly host. We even received a free room upgrade. easy check in. There is a shared kitchen. comfy beds and pillows. There is a table and chair for working. Plenty of hot water. Good internet. Air conditioning. There is a good restaurant 5 min walking distance from the hotel.

I didn't know the fact that this guest house is actually a private language school, so there were children having lessons on a lower floor.

Large and clean room with a terrace, a fridge, a kitchen, washing and drying machines. Very kind staff. We slept well. But the wi-wi connection was not stable enough.

There is few space for parking on the street and no private parking lot. We arrived after 20:00 but before 21:00 and it was a quest to find the staff and to get into the house despite a day before I asked for late arrival.

A nice place to stay near the center of the town. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great for its price. Would recommend it for a solo traveler.

There was no breakfast at the hotel. A little bit noisy as the doors are thin. But that was not a big deal for me.

Great for families or groups

Excellent accommodation, the apartment was very spacious, bonus a terrace and an open space kitchen. Everything was spotless clean. Big bathroom. Good communication with the host. Big park nearby, with restaurants on the sides. 10-15min walk to the fortress.

This is not a criticism, but be warned that there's a church nearby and at certain fixed hours, you will hear the bells.

The location is in the heart of the city but it's still based at a side street so that it's perfectly quiet and calm. The beds were VERY comfortable and the room was the perfect fit for three people. Everything was very clean and tidy!

Cosy guesthouse close to city center with free parking

It's the second time I stay at Guesthouse Diel and everything was fine. Warm in winter, access to kitchen, quiet neighborhood, English speaking staff. You can park in front of the house if you find place. It is also walking distance to the city center and fortress and near many restaurants and cafes.

Not my first time. While I've never had the opportunity to use them so far, there are coffee machines available all day for a small fee, and others kitchen appliances.

Relaxing and comfortable stay

Comfortable bed, neighborhood very calm, near of the attractions of the city (walking distance), the place was very clean !

No soap nor towel in the bathroom so difficult to wash hands. But maybe because i was off season...
