Everything you could need for a short stay at a great price.
Host very responsive and all information needed prior to stay provided.
Sheet on double bed wasn't deep enough so pinged off in the night which was frustrating.
Most of the house was clean enough but if you looked closer there were numerous areas that had been missed, hairs in the bath, crumbs on the counter , food on the microwave, corners not hoovered well. However all minor and not a deal breaker. Several areas of wear and tear noted (porch, kitchen threshold flooring, wallpaper peeling in the bathroom). Again all minor just noticeable.

Absolutely stunningly decorated and very modern and clean. Very cozy and a beautiful Christmas tree was the icing on the cake. Kids loved it.
Nothing. Genuinely couldn’t fault it

we only stayed for one night visiting to see the kynren. The house was very nice, had everything we needed, beds comfy, very quiet area, easy parking and a nice 15 minute walk to the town centre. We would stay again. This house would be a perfect base for exploring the area.

Very spacious and well-equipped. Good location in a quiet side street with plenty of parking. Close to supermarket just across the main road.
Very steep stairs in the house which seemed dangerous. The interior was dingy and dark, with a grey colour scheme. Could have done with some maintenance, eg. door hinges creaked and needed oiling, clocks not working and needed new batteries in. Light above cooker hob not working. Could have done with a thorough clean as some cupboard doors were sticky.

Neatly presented two bed terraced house. Easy to park outside and a huge Asda just across the road was ideal for us. Worked really well for our family as we visited Beamish. Perfect bedrooms for families with children or for a group of friends, with one bedroom sleeping up to 4 people and the other with two single beds. As long as you know to expect this is a terraced house on a residential street, then it is comfortable and perfectly good for a short stay if you want to visit surrounding areas by car.

Great location, with parking outside and just 10 min walk to centre of town. This home has everything you could want and is neat tidy and well cared for. Warm and cosy in a quiet location. Fully fitted kitchen with all appliances including a coffee machine with tea coffee and milk provided with some breakfast cereals too. The lounge is comfy and there is a separate dining room with another sofa. Very spacious rooms all nicely decorated and very clean.
Upstairs 1 very large bedroom with a double and 2 singles and another smaller bedroom with 2 singles. Plus a family sized bathroom with bath and shower over - super water pressure and all nicely clean and bright.
The area is quiet and mainly residential there was no noise at all on a Saturday night.
The walk to town is easy all on the flat and there are some nice things to see and do in Bishop Aukland. We visited Kynren story of us show a spectacular 2000 strong performance outlining the history of England with super actors animals music and fireworks. Our walk back at midnight was fine and its very easy to get into town for the bus or for restaurants.
There is also a 24hr Aldi at the end of the street. This property is exceptional value and very very clean comfortable and I'd highly recommend.

It was central to our needs, ASDA a short stroll away. Clean and comfortable
It was a bit tired in places such as the bathroom, but that’s just aesthetics.

We stayed to be close to Durham for our son’s graduation. The house is lovely and well equipped. It is in a great location close to an Asda supermarket, ideal for anything forgotten.
Everything you need is already there from comfortable furnishings to extra bedding. My wife was especially pleased with the coffee machine! The house would sleep up to eight which whilst a squeeze could be done.
Parking on the street outside but there was plenty of space.
The communications from the host was great and even when we kept adding guests at the last minute he was very accommodating.
Will definitely book it again if available for next years Masters graduation.
The only small point was there is just one bathroom/ toilet. Not that it can be helped but a second toilet would have made it perfect

Many positives... But some Housekeeping Issues that need to be addressed!
Clearly the host(s) (remote - did not meet them) are making an effort: a nicely decorated sitting room and pleasant bedrooms. Comfortable beds and good linen.
Adequate bathroom even if decor a little dated here.
The little house is located in a quiet street within 10-12 mins walk of the main sites in the central square.
At the end of the road (3 mins stroll) to a large supermarket.
Convenient street parking in front of the property.
Kitchen and dining room in need of better housekeeping - DEEP CLEAN required:
1. Upon arrival we opened the kitchen door to FAUSTY SMELLING kitchen sink drains.
In the kitchen sink a well-used black washing up bowl with dried on scummy remains: most unpleasant.
We went to the supermarket and bought a clean new white bowl for just £1.
2. The washing machine too was smelling fausty - the soap tray was MOULDY and most off-putting.
+ No indoor drying rack provided
& the outdoors washing line was not secured to the wall.
3. The seats of the dining room chairs were covered in crumbs etc.
4. Kerb Appeal?!?! We picked up the litter accumulated by the front door. Why not just sweep the pavement if you are expecting paying guests.
Lots of room for improvement Zillo!

Location good, small walk from train station. Lovely old buildings throughout Bishop Auckland and also local rejuvenation happening.
Quiet area.
Rooms clean, heating thermostat working, turned up when we were in, low when out. Cleaning materials left to use.
A walk into town, but crossed over into main street to look at the shops.
Independent shops and cafes, Moss and Ivy, Marvellous Toys, Auckland Project, The Town Hall, Parkland Hotel Restaurant which was open later for a later birthday meal
A bit of a flap about the keysafe number and details, hadn't been emailed as we left, needed to contact owner on arriving.
Speedily sorted out

Such a friendly and thoughtful host, easy stress free check in and delighted to enter a beautiful cosy house. Big Asda next door and close to train station bus routes to Barnard and Darlington etc. The bishop shops as well. Libraries. And more. Was really nice to chill and had good sleep. Be back again soon.

We actually ended up staying in a different property, owned by the same host. but it was fantastic. The host could not have been more helpful. All check in information was readily available. The property was stunningly decorated throughout. A beautiful home for the night and fantastic value for money.

Mainly the fantastic location, mother in law is in a Nursing home around the corner so this was perfect for us to have Mum out for the day and meet with all the family who live up North. We had a very comfortable stay and the host was very good with their communication and allowed us to check in early too. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk provided. All good!
Just a couple of minor things, there was only 3 mugs, could have done with a few more. It would have been nice to have a downstairs toilet, there is plenty of space!

We booked the accommodation as we were attending Kynren at Bishop and decided to enjoy a weekend break. Communication from Steve the host was excellent, the house was ready for occupation an hour earlier than advertised and we were sent the code to the outside box containing the keys the day before our visit.
On arrival there was ample on street parking all along the street and we actually managed to park our car right outside the property. There is an Asda supermarket just a couple of minutes walk from the property and a Morrisons a little further on if you prefer them, it also only takes up to 10 minutes to walk into the town centre.
On entering there is a lovely lounge with 2 sofas, tv etc, a good sized dining room and a well appointed kitchen. The bedrooms were excellent we had the front bedroom which was quite big, very comfortable bed and along the corridor the bathroom was a good size with a superb shower and shower gel in a wall dispenser.
The street is in a very quiet location ideal for a relaxing break.
Nothing.
