It was ok, but very dark and stark, and a little shabby compared to the photos.
The main kitchen/living room was quite large and spacious. Everything was perfectly clean, including the hallways and stairs leading to the apartment. It was fairly quiet most of the time. The washing machine was a good one, as was the fridge. The wifi worked pretty well the whole time. The TV screen was quite large. The kitchen table was very large and handy. Close proximity to Hopetown Museum and not too far from the Darlington railway station(s).
It smelled a bit gassy the whole time. The living room door handle was just about hanging on when we arrived and fell off a few days later. The bedside table was extremely shabby and came apart as soon as I pulled it. The TV antenna only received about half of the Freeview channels and even less when the weather was bad. The shower in the toilet is a nice one, but so cramped. The heating was a bit skimpy. The sofa was extremely uncomfortable. The bedroom blinds don't cover the whole window so street lights shine in all night. The doors to all the apartments close quite violently, so there is frequent banging of doors. The general area outside, with litter, the cigarette stubbing box, noise and mad people buzzing the intercom incessantly at 4:45am didn't endear the place to me, especially as everything was painted grey or black and about as cosy as a Death Star. It would be alright for a few nights, but after a week, I was dying to leave.

Not worthy of the cost
Near to town centre.
Tired and tatty furnishings. The front door is fine during daylight hours. Not so in the dark as the security light comes on after you’ve had to navigate uneven ground in what is basically a dark alleyway. The bedroom bedding was all mismatched, tired and washed out. The pillows were so thin - I’ve given fluffier pillows to the dog rescue for the dogs to sleep on. The mattress to the double bed was very worn - you could literally feel and count the springs. The babers shop below like to play their music at full blast so don’t expect a lie in whether it be Saturday, Sunday or a bank holiday Monday. And (as mentioned in other reviews) there was a pervading distasteful smell in the apartment - maybe coming from the bathroom but we couldn’t actually pinpoint it.

Not as advertised at all. Avoid!
Nothing
Where to start! Nothing like pictures or advertised! Much better available for same price in Darlington (we go regularly). As soon as you entered the apartment (number 2) it stank of smoke. Very little utencils, all filthy. No cooking facilities except a dirty pan and a frying pan that's seen much better days. Broken sofa. Someone has definitely been in whilst we were out as lighting was off. Toilet broken held by a block of wood. We got locked out due to front door being broken, they asked for video evidence before sending help. Quoted 20 to 30minutes. A neighbour let us in eventually. Parking is not easy. Broken window in kitchen all windows filthy. Shower rusty and dirty. Such a shame.e asit COULD be nice with correct maintenance and housekeeping. As always before checking out, I cleaned round (with cleaning equipment and products I'd brought) including stripping the bedding and washing it, including a throw.

Pretty bad all in all
It was close to the center ( but Darlington is small so everything is ), and they let us check in Early, they also fixed one of the problems we reported but took some time .
For a starter when we arrived there was hair in the sink , a lot of it , and the bathroom light did not work , * the light had gotten loose somehow quick fix ) , but the sink was clogged so nothing went down, ( they send someone to fix it the day after ) , The placevitself has way to much furniture in it , in the bedroom there are 2 beds instead of a normal size double bed , so its supper stuffy and no room , the living room has 2 tables a soffa and 6 big chairs ,. The downstairs door is always open , with random people standing there. People came banging on my door 2-3 times at random hours , 2 in the morning, 6 in the morning, not the safest feeling , There where dime bags of what I assume was coke infront of the door , and wierd people coming and going . The apartment is located right above kebab shops and Chinese shops, and unfortunately the vents exit under the apartment so you can't open the windows , or a Thick oily smell permeates the apartment, and gets stuck in everything. The problem with that is that if its hot outside the apartment becomes a sauna and you can't breathe , The road outside is big and noisy and there is traffic all night , So your options are chocke from great , or chocke from chocke oil and noise , I would recommend staying somewhere else .
