Stylish Darlington Townhouse Near A1 A66 & A19 Breakfast

Have stayed before so was easy to find. Spotlessly clean as usual. Wi fi is good all through the house. Good facilities with 2 bathrooms and 3rd toilet downstairs. Plenty of parking and nice big garden to rear. Good contact with Storm the host.

Showerhead was damaged so u had to be careful using it, reported it to Storm and was soon rectified.

We were unable to stay in this property due to it being in such an unfit state both in terms of the condition and cleanliness.

The property was unfit for staying with children (and without) and therefore shortly after arriving we had to take the decision to leave and did not stay. There was an abandoned car on the drive meaning the only parking available was over the footpath. The neighbours were visibly annoyed with us having to park over the path as it meant they had to walk over the front lawn of the property. The kitchen cupboard doors were hanging off and at risk of falling down. An issue I've since seen reported in a review in 2023 which has still not been sorted. Similarly the coffee table was broken and leaning to one side. There were trims around the skirtings which were broken off, leaving loose screws. The front and back doors looked like they'd been broken into with poor repairs looking unsafely secured. The bedsheets did not seem to be clean - some of which were stained yellow. The cot provided for an 18 month old was a small swing cot which they would have fallen from. The kitchen was filthy from the fridge. cupboards, oven bin, floors etc. Similarly many other parts of the house had not been cleaned well. Mould on bedroom blinds, stains on curtains and chair covers. Floorings were in poor condition with many parts lifted. Unsafe electric fittings and more..... We were forced to find accommodation with a young family over a busy Easter weekend and despite reporting to the owners that we were unable to stay due to the issues they have yet to provide a refund.

Location was good.

Not so much the property was a problem,no aerial points in the house that worked. Only TV to watch was app TV. Would I stop there again? No, took nearly 2 weeks to get my deposit back,nothing but false promises from the booking agent about returning money.

A complete lack of communication from the owners meant I couldn't get to the property until it was too late! Total waste of money. No refund offered.

The property was located in a quiet area which was ideal.

Inside the property looks nothing like what the pictures showed. Inside the house is very run down and dirty. There are a lot of outlets that pose electrical safety risks and some that aren’t even working. I forgot an item at the property and had to collect it from one of the hosts, when I met her she assured me that she checked the property when she went for the jacket and that everything was good and I should send my bank details so she can send back the £100 damage deposit. TWO days later of chasing her for the deposit, she accused me of getting a substance on the glass table which she assumes is glue and admitted that she was scraping at it for awhile but she can’t get it out, she said she needed stronger cleaning products so she will deducted £20 before sending the deposit! I’m surprised she didn’t blame me for all the holes in the wall as well!!

Self catering the location was fine

Kerb appeal not good there is a scrap car on the drive and the front door is very tatty it has not be painted for quite a while.There are a few simple things that will not cost a lot to improve the quality of the stay such as proper bath towels buy half a dozen proper mugs to replace the tiny ones provided generally the decor and furnishing are quite drab and unappealing.

Lovely house, very clean and spacious. Neighbours were lovely. Would stay again.
