Exceptional value. Made to feel very welcome by the staff from the moment we arrived. Although the building is old and quirky I would much rather stay here than at other chain establishments. We had dinner and breakfast both superb hot tasty and plentiful. For value for money this hotel is great.
Traffic noise from nearby dual carriageway but we knew that when we booked.

overall up to expectations - did not have breakfast
Breakfast time was bit late starting 09:00. I had to leave by 08:00 so not ideal.

The food was superb, very tasty and plentiful. The staff are very attentive and friendly.
Due to the age of the building the sash window did not open in the bedroom, so we had to have bathroom window wide open, a fan was provided but you could hear the traffic on the A40 as its just 2 mins off the road. A mirror needs to be in bedroom, as you couldn't do make up or dry hair if other person having a shower.
